1. Go to Antoine’s. In the French Quarter Fine dining, French cuisine. Do NOT dress casual. Very cheap, complete meal with champagne should cost around 35-40$ if you get the premium items.
2. Johnny’s Po Boys is kind of mid but if you aren’t planning on going outside of New Orleans to taste traditional creole food it’s great.
3. If possible go to a outlying city such as Baton Rouge and get some Boudin (pronounced Boudan and locals get uppity if you pronounce it boudin and will correct you while seething)
3. Take ghost tour of cemetery. It’s stupid but fun.
4. Do NOT book at the Omni or the the W Hotel (Omni is shoebox+ expensive)people will scream and throw shit and you can hear it all night at the W) if cheap enough, go to the Westin. That’s the best place to go and only 5-8 minute walk to French quarter and 10-15 to bourbon street.
5. Go to Cafe Du Monde, but bring a drink beforehand. Drinks are ridiculously expensive there and the beignets will fry you like a motherfucker. Wait times will be anywhere from 15-50 minutes so plan accordingly.
6. Go to Fritzel’s. It’s a jazz club and very kino. Has the authentic New Orleans feel and vibe. Be early or you will not get a seat.
7. Do not take up any people who offer free drinks or anything on the street. They will hustle you. Don’t be a retard and you will be fine.

> Antoine's fucking sucks. It was the worst meal of my entire 2 weeks in New Orleans eating out three meals a day.
2. Johnny’s Po Boys is kind of mid but if you aren’t planning on going outside of New Orleans to taste traditional creole food it’s great.
> Believable but I didn't try it while I was there. Best, po-boys I had my entire time there was at Katie's in mid City.
3. If possible go to a outlying city such as Baton Rouge and get some Boudin (pronounced Boudan and locals get uppity if you pronounce it boudin and will correct you while seething)
>100% true except you left out of the part where boudan fucking sucks
3. Take ghost tour of cemetery. It’s stupid but fun.
>Cemetery was really cool to see but all the tour guide are annoying as shit.
>100% true

>Cafe du monde fucking sucks and is a tourist trap. There is a stall in the French market 2 blocks away that has stuffed beignets that are litterly the best thing I have ever ate.
6. Go to Fritzel’s. It’s a jazz club and very kino. Has the authentic New Orleans feel and vibe. Be early or you will not get a seat.
>Didn't go but everyone says this and so far your list has all been tourist traps
In conclusion, OP is a fagot. Don't listen to him.
what did you get? did you get the oysters? get the oysters. bottomless champagne!
Lorretas for beignets is goated and its not far from the french quarter in the marigny bywater area,
I’m giving advice for someone’s who’s most likely a retard and needs simple stuff for their first time. Antoine’s is very kino. Also, if you don’t like Boudin sausage your taste must be dogshit like your opinions.
You should get a mask and throw shit at floats until you get arrested
Fuck off homosexual. I'm tired of you tourists fucking coming here and making traffic bad for us locals. Hope you get robbed in the Quarter
Without tourists NOLA would have never been rebuilt after Katrina. KYS nagger.
Yeah because our infrastructure and amazing amount of production will certainly keep nola alive and well. We need tourists its the only reason our city exists anymore at this point.
I hate living here so much bros...this place is fucking garbage.
Always make sure you see other whites around
Cancel your trip and go somewhere else like Miami or Nashville or Vegas. New Orleans fucking sucks and you will have a shit time.
black guy here.
So Orleans parish is rumored to operate at 50% capacity for law enforcement.
I work in this parish, but make of that what you will.
Everybody knows NOLA is an africa tier shithole but its still a very fun city to visit for a couple days then gtfo.
100% understood.
Just looking to see Mardi Gras before the city goes completely to shit.
Appreciate the advice thus far in this thread. Clearly there are some conflicting opinions, restaurant recommendations are very much appreciated, less tourist traps the better, time is limited and I am not here for Instagram pictures kek.
Metairie resident here, still in awe of the amount of people who willingly go to NOLA, and willingly go downtown. Sure there's *some* good food here, but christ the city is so fucking bad right now and it will be so much worse for Mardi Gras, there's a good 40-50% chance you'll either have something happen to you, or you'll see something happen. It's by far the worst in America, not Port-au-Prince bad, but imo downtown is not too far
I'm not recommending anything because it's not like you'll actually go to any of them, and I don't want retarded homosexuals in my local shops
Not OP but also going to Mardi Gras, what parades/events are worth going to? Also any other cuisine recommendations?
>3 legged dog is a 24 hour bar. They sell you beer 2 at a time
>Frenchman street is better than Bourbon street
>Aunt Tiki's is a nice local bar, but small
>Check Point Charlie's is another 24 hour dive bar. They got a pac-man machine in the back
>Emporium is like Barcade, some random local recruited a bunch of us to go there. It was a fun time. I have no idea where it is as they had just opened.
>MRB was also a chill spot. If you like grilled oysters you can get some good ones here.
>National WW2 Museum is interesting but huge. You'll need a whole day to see everything
