Marseille

I'm an American (white) in Europe, specifically Marseille and I'm genuinely shocked at how bad it is here

You can tell that the city has a noble history but everything looks rotten and bankrupt

Muslims everywhere, grafitii and trash, people screaming and yelling in the streets all the way til 6am. The police patrol the city in large groups (20+) and walk around like they're the SS

It's nuts and completely tragic

My parents are French and seeing this country like this totally baffles me

Is it like this all over the EU?

In 2019 I spent a week in Paris.
The center was a complete tourist trap and when I tried to go a bit outside the epicenter it looked like I had just stepped off a flight and landed in Algeria.
    France is finished

There are some places in the EU that feel relatively immune to this sort of thing.

Then you have places like France that are susceptible and will keep getting worse.

In the UK for example, there are so many towns and cities which quite literally don’t even feel Western anymore, let alone British. Large swaths of cities where most women are head to toe in burqas, there’s a huge mosque every other street, most local pubs and bars shut down decades ago and the majority of the population choose not to speak English and actively refuse wider society. They’ve also become completely run-down, dirty, third world tier shitholes because of it.

I know, I grew up in one. I was the only white kid in School. Around 80% was Pakistani, maybe another 15% Indian and the rest just others (mostly black).

People will openly point out how horrible those places are, and how they never want to step foot in them, but the moment you ask why, nobody can seem to provide an answer.

Over the last few years Spain has started to see similar effects. Moroccans and other African immigrants basically run amuck in so many of the bigger cities, to the point where the biggest employment choice in Barcelona for those guys is stealing phones and wallets or running scams. I’ve seen it with my own two eyes.

I hate to be that /misc/ guy but I truly believe large parts of Europe are lost and frankly, will never be what they probably would’ve if it weren’t for mass unfiltered migration.

The UK is lost but I'm a little discouraged by how many foreigners are just shitting everything up in France and apparently Germany

I know the towns and villages have largely escaped but Europe has to do something otherwise in 20 years there won't be one free, sane 1st world country to live in anywhere in the world

Marseille has a very small area that’s extremely nice - languid Mediterranean evenings, outstanding food, and so on. And then there’s the rest of it, which looks like the decaying remains of colonial capitals you find in developing nations. The contrast between a flock of flamingoes in azure paradise on one hand and slums on the other is extreme.

Post industrial U.K. is like this too. Impressive monuments to the throes of the Industrial Revolution thronged by poverty and squalor. It’s happening in Sweden right now too.

Yeah, man. I'll be the first to point out America's flaws. It's far from perfect. But, I've traveled a good amount of Europe and Asia, and twice in South America. Holy shit the US is actually pretty nice.

Lol right, after years of hearing about what a paradise Europe is compared to the states I was legit blown away to find my time living in Europe only made me appreciate America more. You truly don’t know what you have til it’s gone. Honestly really shocked me, all you hear from other Americans is about how bad our country is and how much better everywhere else is. I think there would be a helluva lot less of that if more Americans spent 6-12 months abroad at some point in their lives. Europe definitely has america beat in some areas but it’s no fricking paradise that’s for sure.

Can anons please tell me places in France that are safe/nice to live in for a month or so? I want to experience France (actual France) without being "culturally enriched."

America is extremely boring compared to Europe. Sorry but outside of the shitholes (which America has in worse numbers) Europe is much higher QoL for the money. America is better for raising a family, but Europe is much better for living life. Also we (Americans) have the lowest-quality women in the world in terms of personality, that's just a fact.

Any sizeable city in France will have lots of "cultural enrichment", but none is as bad as Marseille. I can highly recommend Aix-en-Provence or Avignon. There's so much to do in that region, get out and explore the small towns and countryside too. That's where you'll still see the real France. Montpellier and Antibes would also be decent choices to set up base. And that's only in the southeast, the rest of the country has other cool cities like Strasbourg. Though that one is steadily declining too.

        >(Americans) have the lowest-quality women in the world in terms of personality
Many European women are not any better, like the British, Dutch, Germans, Danes, etc.

Marseille is probably the worst, but every major city in western Europe is declining. If you want to see actual white people and somewhere safe and organized, go to Krakow, Prague, or Budapest. You can tell it's a tad poorer there, but it's clean and you don't worry about getting stabbed by some rapefugee. Or just go to smaller cities in France like I mentioned.

You have any familiarity with central France, say Clermont-Ferrand and the surrounding region? I'd like to frick off to rural France for a few weeks next year and I thought that area seemed nice when I drove through it years ago.
