Miami suggestions?

I’m going to Miami for work and I’m extending my trip to explore the city. Never been before so open to any and all suggestions. Would love to know ways I can mingle with the locals.

I’m flying in this Wednesday and leaving Sunday morning. There doesn’t seem to be much activity on meetup.com. I’ll be right on Miami beach. Here are my ideas so far:

>Dolphin mall
>Miami Zoo
>Brickell City Center
>Everglades
>Vizcaya Museum
>Miami beach (obligatory)
>Miami Design District

Any EDM concerts this weekend? Anything missing?

Knowing conversational Spanish is a must for this. Spanglish works too, just switch between the two languages for emphasis or if you forget vocabulary.
    >meetup.com
    Lol
    Mall
It’s a giant outlet mall with a giant food court and a movie theater. It’s really not much.
    Zoo
Very nice, we’ll put together and a good variety of animals. Bring LOTS of water.
    City Center
Cool to see, a lot of luxury shopping there.

Hopefully the highlight of your trip. It is unlike any environment on the planet. Don’t get too close from the gators, but don’t stand too far.

    Also neat
    Beach
I suppose, but don’t spend a lot of time there. Beach will be crowded, Ocean Drive will be crowded, everything is overpriced.
    Design District
Nice enough. No strong opinions on it.
Why not Brickell too? The walls are a must-see in my opinion, plus it’s peak hipster-craft-brewery-quirky-restaurant-gentrification.
Coconut Grove is a bit out of the way, but CocoWalk and the surrounding area is another popular place to walk around, get food, etc.
Fairchild Botanical Gardens is another place to visit if you’re into nature, it is really a treasure.
The two big EDM clubs are E11EVEN and Club Space, check out those for events. Be prepared to fork over a lot of money for drinks; pregame your nights out if possible.

Be careful, my friend works as a bouncer E11EVEN and he says they tell him not to let in males under 6 feet tall. He said they are required to think up some reason to call the police over on manlets who ask to get in (the cops are right next to them) and this could cause you legal issues as a foreigner. So yeah, don’t go if you’re a manlet.

It's not. I'm a bartender at the club.

If you're into EDM (especially house/techno) definitely check out Club Space. Look at who's playing online and get tickets a few days before as it's like 4x cheaper vs. 100+ at the door.

If you’re a eurogay or something be careful with doing molly in the US a lot of it supposedly had fent in it and kills a lot of people. I don’t advise doing drugs in the US in general.

You should go to this really cool place called Liberty City, anon. Go there around midnight for the BEST nightlife you could possibly get in Miami! Make sure you wear expensive clothing and apparel, the women there are really attracted to that. And make sure that you walk around on foot. So yeah. Go to Liberty City.

    >Mingle with the locals
Heh, about that, if you're not a paisano (Sudaca in other words) you're literally a second class citizen over there, people may act friendly but really they just want something from you, they are the rudest, most self-centered, miserable people I've ever met, and my family is from Boston of all places

PS, nothing to do here unless you like fishing I guess

Miami is full of rich Latino buttholes. You have to flaunt your wealth and status to catch even a passing glance from a local. Stay out of the Black person neighborhoods, you can spot them by the blighted boulevards devoid of businesses. Lastly, Miami Beach is not Miami, it is a totally separate city.

i do a lot of work with a company in miami. the guy from boston may not be considered human, but he and the other poster are spot on about the place. ill add on by saying that they are all impatient as hell. if they want you to do something, they always want it done yesterday. god forbid you encounter one of the ones who is really demanding, but suddenly gets stumped because you are speaking english to them. i have no idea how you can be in the country for multiple decades, and never bother learning the main language used in 99% of it, but some of the people there find a way.

there are some good people in miami, but you are really going to have to search hard to find them. most people in miami will live in run down houses on par with the most run down ghetto houses you have seen, just so they can drive the most expensive vehicle they can afford. this is to act like they have wealth to flaunt. this mindset is very common in miami, and i will be surprised if you dont encounter it. for some reason, the parasitic cancer known as yankee transplants seem to think florida (especially around miami) is the place to move to, so have fun hearing a bunch of people who sound like they need to clean their noses when they talk, if you can discern any accent at all from them (a lot dont really have accents besides sounding really nasally).

It’s unfortunately like that in most of the US now, or at least anywhere that’s not a ghetto. I think it’s because of all the cali/JYC richgays moving abroad after 2020 to the rural areas and lowkey cities where they brought their shitty snobbishness with them. Buckhead feels a lot like being in Brickell these days. Lot of shit heads.
