>£500+ to fly to Thailand return to experience the beautiful local culture haha for no other reason haha
>bout the same to fly to Vietnam return
>flying to Europe is cheap but it has on the whole become subsumed in the Americanised global hellscape culture
Is travelling dead for people living dat neetlife? Can you get cheap tickets aboard a merchant vessel, or work for your passage on such a vessel like in ye golden days of yore or summat? Wot abouit getting deckhand qualifications and working aboard some rich boomer's boat in exchange for passage and ideally a wee bit of moolah?
Supplementary question: is being able to spend money on travel one of the ways wageslaves justify all the time they spend working and consooming? Is the thought process something like "I work a gruelling 40+ hours a week and have minimal free time, but at least I can travel for 2-3 weeks a year"?
Essentially just use this thread to share the thriftiest ways to travel.
Get a working visa in Australia or some shit.
>wage slaves
I have a disposable income, even if I weren't working I'd be bored out of my fricking mind one way or another, I'm not a wage slave, I'm a slave to mental stimulation which travelling satiates.
Maybe try not being a cringe sex tourist loser. You'll get eaten alive in asia btw because you're a moron.
It always astounds me when what seems to be obvious irony is misinterpreted as serious belief and intention. I reckon it's an American thang.
I once walked past some hippies selling mystic bracelets or something. Nearby were some legit beggars (crusty, dirty locals). When the other beggars asked for money, I pointed at the hippies and said "sorry, I already gave them money".
OP, back to your question. If you have unlimited free time then you can probably eventually get to Thailand on the cheap, but the longer it takes you to get there, the more you have to spend or earn along the way. Will you lose your neetbux if you travel too long? You should come up with either a total budget for your trip or a weekly budget you can have for your indefinite travels. Once you determine your budget, everything is easier.
dude if you can't scrape together £500 for a ticket you have bigger problems in your life
even with the recent uptick in prices international travel is still cheaper than it was for previous generations
people used to have to save for months just to go to spain for a week
I can't imagine myself enjoying travel while saving money on everything. Lowest class flights, cheapest hotels, not doing xyz because I can't afford it etc. I rather do 3x less travelling but actually enjoy myself with nice amenities. Not to mention unironically begging for money while abroad, thats just sad and everyone hates beggars.
Even if you can travel with almost no money, can you genuinely enjoy it?
Yes?
I really don't give a frick about the hotel room, I just want to crash on the bed and wake up tomorrow.
Reddit passive aggression
Get a bivy and camp loser I skeet on the streets of balgona that way
Is it difficult for border guards to filter out people who may need to turn to begging or illegal work?
Some places say they require proof of your finances but they never actually ask in my experience. MAYBE one or two times in the most douchey of countries (UK or whatever). If you're white, anywhere outside of US/europe/aus just assumes you're wealthier than they could possibly imagine. The only exception is places where you have to apply for a visa in advance. They might require actual paperwork. A border guard isn't generally going to ask to see your bank statement unless you've already been detained (like taken out of line and put into a room) and are being interviewed.
I get that, but there's a difference between a fat guy who is at retirement age and a young bohemian dude, and singling someone who probably doesn't have funds can be done without too much inconvenience.
just be white
just be american
you really underestimate how far that gets you overseas.
>"bohemian"
You're a fricking gay bro. I'm a white chad who looks maybe 24 or 25. I wear a t shirt and jeans everywhere. In fact, i intentionally look poor most of the time because i'm traveling to third world shitholes and don't want to get robbed. The only difference between you and i is that i don't try to larp like i'm a rastafarian or some shit (and i'm much better looking so maybe i get the halo effect).
>white
>chad
So fat and balding?
Nope, full head of hair and a SighSeegay when i'm home. Stop projecting sweaty 🙂
>Bohemian
>T-Shirt and Jeans
Yes, a t shirt and jeans is not bohemian. Like i said
I think you were the first poster who referred to a ''T-Shirt' and 'Jeans'
Yes because i wear those like a normal person instead of some "bohemian" drug rug and whatever the frick. Are you ESL or just moronic?
>Posting in an Indonesian Crab Farming forum
>Declaring skin color is a decent way to profile wealth
i always thought begpackers were a meme but i saw one while living in japan. selling his shitty little bracelets with a cardboard sign.
When I lived in the UK I hitchhiked and stealth camped through over 30 Euro countries, plus Turkey, Morocco and West Africa. Travel is free; choosing where to dish out money is up to you. You're a lucky c**t to live on that side of the Atlantic.
>When I lived in the UK I hitchhiked and stealth camped through over 30 Euro countries, plus Turkey, Morocco and West Africa. Travel is free
I would love to hear details of your experience with international, and particularly inter-continental hitchhiking; how the hell did you specifically get from UK even to mainland Europe for nothing? Rides from truckers, I assume, but from where to where and how?
Same question but louder and at least a little more incredulously re: Morocco and especially West Africa.
>2023
>not being a digital nomad
kill begpackers on sight in minecraft
>Haha I’m a pathetic leech living off other peoples hard work.
>Why can’t I afford to travel, it’s not fair
>reeeeeeeeee
daily reminder that it is objectively morally acceptable to rob begpackers at knife point
I traveled cheaply and the bulk of my expenses were tickets, you can't cheap on on everything so much or you will be miserable. You also need some skills and connections to get gigs to fund your travels. Even better if you do work that provides housing. These days I have decided I just can't work more than part time hours or a rotational schedule so I work to book gigs for that and spend the free time relaxing, traveling, or learning something.
