This guy is making wild assumptions and pretending he is right about them. He starts with an answer and works his way backward to make pieces fit where he needs them to...MODERN SCIENCE!!!

How do I into NYC? I have easy access, can I just park my shit in the Port Authority, go explore, then come back? That's what my family has done when we went together, but I feel like I could gain something from doing a solo NYC trip, I'm becoming a homebody and it's too comfy. Is there anything else to do beside food/shopping?

Don't forget to visit the corning glass museum. They have a cool research library that no one goes to, but it's really nice. I spent like an hour there looking through all their cool glass books and no one bothered me

Any New Yorkers here want to chime in on Senate Bill S3075 which is a bill that would decriminalize prostitution? Any news regarding it? The website doesn't show much information other than it being "in committee." It's been like that for a while.

Has anyone gone to the renaissance fair? I heard it's not as good as it used to be but I never went to such an event before. But it looks interesting and I want to leave the house for once.

      >I heard it's not as good as it used to be
ive talked with people who have gone to Tampa and Bristol (kenosha) and they have said its becoming shit. early 2000s when they started it was mostly treated as an unofficial DnD convention. Then it transitioned into a place for random adults to get drunk and play pirate on the weekend when their football team wasnt in town that weekend. Now its becoming a cosplay event for trans and furies.
last 6 years i've been going to the Ohio ren fair and there has been a sharp change in the type of crowd. The crowd is increasingly developing a "twitter" vibe and the amount of men larping as women is certainly noticeable in t he last few years. most of the shops are israeliteelry or crystal shops, the leather shops are shit you can find on etsy/alibaba/amazon/etc (i've found a few B00 and X00 ASIN stickers left on some of the items the owners forgot to remove) one glass blower actually making shit, and various dress shops where you can order from india then mark up 400%. The lines for food tend to stretch deep into the park due to the inefficiencies of the staff.
      i'd avoid them.

Gonna be in Bed-Stuy, in Brooklyn for all of January. I’ve only been to NYC on day trips, and only to Manhattan. I’m staying in a really nice historic Victorian brownstone on Nostrand Ave. Any cool things to do? Any metro tips? I’m pretty excited even tho New York in January doesn’t inspire a lot of eagerness in most people lol.

The area you're in is gentrifying rapidly, and is already pretty gentrified, but the farther east you go the worse it gets, so I suggest going in any direction but directly east
The A notably goes to the Rockaways which arent very interesting in the winter, but you're lucky to be near major transit hubs downtown
You're close to the Nostrand LIRR station so most of Long Island is accessible within 2 hours at most
If you can spare the time, definitely check out Sheepshead Bay/Gravesend/Brighton Beach

I know this opinion will not be received well, but prostitutemaxxing is far more time-efficient and less degrading than pigeon dancing with the slight hope of maybe getting pussy for "free" (if you ignore cost of drinks, food, transportation, nice clothing, furnished abode, living in nice area, skin care routine, etc). Why should I bother "studying" women when I can just pay 200-400 bucks to frick whichever one I want and then get on with my life?

This is something a lot of European men have realized since many European countries have very liberal laws with regards to prostitution and brothels.

This is why America has a much bigger problem with frustrated incels.

It's not hard to get a prostitute in the U.S, though. Like not remotely hard with the invention of the internet. I don't partake in hookers but nearly all of my friends do.

Let's not shit a shitter here. It's illegal in 49 states and the vast majority of men do not want to risk getting caught, especially men who have careers.

You're also out of your mind if you think it's not common to get busted. My small state constantly has cases of dudes getting busted for trying to hire escorts.

Also, the escorts are usually hideous beyond belief. It's usually the poorest and most desperate drug-addicted women who partake in illegal prostitution.

In contrast, you'll find very beautiful prostitutes working in European brothels. Men can also walk in with no anxiety or stress at all because it's legal.

Lol you're an idiot. That's why you fear winding up in an idiot situation like being busted for prostitution.

I would much prefer fricking a prostitute than pretending to be interested in some slag. 95% of the girls on these dating apps seem like absolute garbage people

what are the best mountain biking trails?

I would highly recommend going to Beacon, NY. It's easily accessible from the city via Metro North, and there is a very nice 19th century town center just a short walk from there, which has some charming restaurants and book stores. About 1.5 miles from the town center is Mt. Beacon, which is a beautiful (and steep/difficult hike), which is perhaps the most satisfying hike in the state of New York, including the Adirondacks.

At the top of Mt. Beacon is a beautiful view of the town below, and you can even explore some of the remnants (now little more than rubble, foundations, etc) of the casino that was there many decades ago, and some of the infrastructure from the now long-gone funicular railroad that went all the way up the mountain. There is also an old decommissioned telecommunications tower up there, which you can climb up (an unsecured, rickety metal ladder, about 200ft in height), which presents a truly remarkable view of the Hudson River, the town of Beacon, and a very large Gothic-styled prison - it is a truly astounding view that needs to be seen to understand its magnificence, seriously.

From there, there is another trail that leads along and up a further mountain, which has another tower (designed for hikers), which has an even higher and more expansive view of the Hudson, but which is a somewhat less impressive view, since much of the human development below is no longer visible and you end up simply looking out over an enormous expanse of water and trees.

If you live in NYC or as far up as, say, Poughkeepsie, a trip to the town of Beacon and a hike up Mt. Beacon are a really enjoyable day, and you can do the whole trip for little more than gas money. Of all the places I've been to in the state of New York, this one is the most perfect "day trip".

Went to college in the Capital Region. What do you think of it? Do you go to Troy at all?

I've been to Troy a couple times and really liked it. I actually had stayed at an Airbnb there a couple of years ago on a road trip and left with a pretty bad impression of it. Must have been in a shittier area because I returned to downtown for the Troy Riverfest and was really impressed

I feel like Albany has a lot of potential, but it needs a lot of work especially in regard to housing and pedestrian amenities. I still get really mad when I find myself having to doge cars getting in and out of Washington Park when I walk over there

Also I am not sure if this is a recent thing, but the lack of lane markings on the roads is really something. No center lines on major roads and you're left guessing if there are supposed to be 2 or 3 lanes.

I am originally from Illinois, so I am enjoying the nature around the area a lot as well. Do you have any recommendations for things to do, what school did you go to?
