It covers a lot of things from getting your luggage lost/stolen to medical bills overseas, just read the terms and decide if it's worth the risk.
I never had a travel insurance and fortunately never needed one, but I could afford paying $10k if I get superaids in the middle of nowhere and need to be rescued by a helicopter.
