Real Traveler's Map - Extra Autistic Edition

Real Traveler's™ Map thread with a new extra detailed expansion pack

This version of the map includes second-level administrative subdivisions for 42 countries - for example, Indian districts, Chinese prefectures, and Russian rayons. Norwegian anon's US counties DLC is included. For some countries, like Serbia and Italy, I reorganized provinces as second level subdivisions, and added super provincial statistical regions as the first level.

Damn son, nice job. How did you do it? Not by hand I hope?!
    >Also, I made a some changes to the existing first-level subdivisions in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for geographical accuracy
What changes exactly? Something that should be fixed on the main map too?
    >please let me know if you find any mistakes.
Is the dark grey and light grey subdivbision borders supposed to signify first and second level subdivisons? Because if so countries like Norway and Estonia are if not wrong, then at least misleading.

Anyway, here's my map too. No changes since the last thread, where the only change in years is that I went to Southern Denmark this summer.

Adapted most of it from a template you posted a while ago and did a lot of changes/updates by hand.

You might want to take a look at my adjustments to the borders of the new Kazakhstan oblasts
      >East Kazakhstan / Abay oblasts
      >Jetisu / Almaty oblasts
      >Karaganda / Ulytau oblasts
Also changed the shape of the Kapshagay reservoir

For Norway and Estonia the dark grey borders are supposed to signify statistical regions. I think its visually pleasing and adds additional information, but I could see an argument for deleting them.

You sure? I've refused to work with second level subdivisions since forever, only doing the US counties because another template existed and it was requested for years. Can't recall seeing one posted by others either. If you actually did it by hand, I kneel. I know how insanely frustrating that can be at times.
        >my adjustments to the borders of the new Kazakhstan oblasts
Thanks, I'll look into it and include it in the next update if needs be. I draw new subdivisions in MS Paint by hand, so it won't always be perfect, I appreciate people telling me if I need to adjust something.
        >Norwegian statistical regions
Literally didn't know this was a thing before I googled it just now. Trying to google the Norwegian term for it yields nothing of value. Maybe it's an EU thing. I suggest going with either the old counties, the new counties, or the new counties with the old ones as a grey border. Anything else doesn't really make sense.

The autistic version should not be the OP. If I didn't know about the main version I would've hidden this thread.

make a new thread with the actual map, nobody's going to want to participate with the OP.

As much as I like the idea, it's going to take me 10+ minutes just to do the "countries visited" subdivisions for India. I'm autistic, but I'm not this autistic.

Anyway, after a certain point, I feel like I'd just be guessing: I've been to between 60 and 70 countries, and I simply can't remember every county, province, or district I've stayed in.

TBQH wish there was some sort of tool where we could just pre-fill "countries visited" and then add in unique coloring for "regions visited."

Posted in last thread. Plans are to head to Norway January/February and walk/ski/snowshoe dnt hut to hut, with some hostels for a week 1/2.
Any suggestions on transporting ice axe and snow shoes, any idea whether to ship to friend or just pay up for checked luggage?

      >ship to friend
Considering the absolute state of the Norwegian postal system, you'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you just cash out for taking it on the plane as special luggage. I'm not joking. Mate of mine sent me a postcard from Germany a few years ago, it was sent from Germany to Norway the day after it was posted, and it took it a further month to reach me. I live an hour away from the main airport here. There are so many cases like this that it has become a mainstream meme to shit on the postal service at this point.

        >Mate of mine sent me a postcard from Germany
This is specifically a postcard issue, postcards have absolutely and extremely the lowest priority of any item you could possibly ship.

Then ship it to your friend and hope it gets there in time, it's your life m8

Thanks, we've got the same problem here, wasn't aware Norway was the same

add as luggage on the airplane. Are you sure you can't keep it inside the airplane with your suitcase?
Sending by post sounds like it would be really expensive and time-consuming.

Taking a backpack, if I shipped wouldn't need to take a duffle to carry it in. Just going to pay the extra and check it all though
