I'm in Armenia right now and was planning to go to Georgia after to meet my friend, but he is not coming after all due to some family issues. I didn't do that much research and now I'm having second thoughts. I always had the Caucasus countries sort of on the back burner as places that would be cool to visit, but it seems like a lot of people find Georgia to be overrated. Apparently the food is shit, it's become more expensive and touristy and the good hiking spots are limited to a few places that seem to be pretty full during high season. I am interested in the FSU and speak some Russian, so I'll probably end up going anyway. I don't want to stay in Yerevan and try to get an Iranian visa and Turkey in high season seems too hot and too crowded. Anyone who has been there recently who can chime in and reassure me?

I just left Turkey for Baku. You're right, Turkey is fricking flooded with tourists. Ass loads of Russians there as well.

I was in Georgia in 2019 and I loved it. Tbilisi is kind of alright, sort of dirty but parts are nice. English there is better than in Baku, and way less Arabs and prostitutes for the Arabs. Tough to get to hiking in Georgia, but if you can get a tinder girl to take you on a road trip it's fricking kino. It is correct it's getting more expensive, the food isn't terrible though but it does get old since most of it is beige or brown.

I was there in 2019 and wanted to come back again, but Covid and all that kept me away.
I liked Tbilisi, it was pretty charming a la Lisbon, great wine and food, beautiful women etc.
I was in the city for about five days I think, which was more than enough, but it was pretty chill.
Spent some time in Stepantsminda/Kazbegi at Rooms Hotel. Very beautiful surroundings and a nice hotel.
If you’re in the area anyway why not go?
Of course it might have deteriorated now due to the Russian “refugees”, I don’t know.

Awful food, the women aren’t nearly as attractive as they are in neighbouring countries, not much to do. I will not be visiting Tbilisi or it’s awful airport again.

Oh, and just because the women are ugly does not mean they have low standards. They’re super uppity/conservative. Skip the whole country and go to Armenia, or just go to Russia if you want a general Eastern Europe fix. But Armenia is cheaper and more fun than GE

Georgian women are uglier than Armenian women but Georgian women may be more willing to do a hookup. Both are conservative in that regrard but theres more libs in Tblisi
city center and their zoomers are more eager to be western (kind of same in armenia a bit but more are dissilussioned with the west as they support azerbeijan)

          >he western media put Azerbaijan on total blast.
kek the pozzed media didn't talk about at all what are you talking about, AZ is under the thumb of turkey and isreal. The US supports AZ by proxy and the EU sees them as key for energy exports and to counter Russian gas. Of course no armenian supports AZ I was saying that Armenians are less likely to be ass on pants moronic about the West coming to save them as say Georgians would be, although we elected a soros puppet as president we dont give a frick about supporting say Ukraine or gay rights. average georgian doesnt really give a frick about homosexuals either but if it means getting closer to the EU they will try to proliferate it slowly which is kind of already happening with the pride parades even tho they get met with hostility

Tbilisi is fun for a short visit. Do daytrips to mountains and to villages like Singnagi. Avoid Kutaisi and Batumi, they're both shitholes, Batumi especially so.

I've no idea what people are saying about the food, I genuinely think Georgian food is very top tier. Try khinkhali (suck out the juice first), adjaruli khacapuri and kharcho. Try buying some bakery bread, it costs barely anything at all and is very tasty as is. If you get bored of Georgian food, the best Indian and Thai that I've had was from Tbilisi.

You don't go there for women, I think some of them are quite hot, but the men are very liable to frick you up if you're out drinking and trying to hit on them. I went with my gf, so I didn't even try, but at least I got a few glances and sly smiles. If you want to get laid just hit up other expats, maybe stay at a hostel.

Use Bolt to get around, otherwise you're getting ripped off because you're a soft Westerner with no language skills or know how for the prices.

Speaking 10 words of Russian will take you much further than being fluent in English; most people don't speak any, and outside of crappy, touristic bars and restaurants, people will not speak any. Best things worth seeing and eating will not be open if you can't communicate for shit. Don't be afraid to install Wolt and order stuff there as it's very cheap and you can bypass the language barrier.

Drivers are insane in Caucasaus, there's a reason why you do a cross on your chest before driving. Don't trust any driver and always wear a seat belt.

Caucasus is not Europe, nevermind Eastern Europe. They're nothing alike.

Are Georgian and Armenian Men protective of their women?

That entire part of world has been subject to near constant warfare and they hate each others guts, if there was ever a martial race it is them.

Kutaisi is very meh IMHO, not worth visiting anytime but in the summer for a few pictures, plus they fricked up the church renovaiton big time. Batumi is humid like the tropics with tacky, Russian billionaire high rises amidst shitty crumbling Soviet shithouse public buildings. The sea itself is quite nice, but the beach is all stone. In the evening waves are so strong you can't get it in and you will bruise yourself seriously if you try to swim then. Nearby there's a very interesting botanical garden and if you hire a driver you can go up the nearby hills and explore very interesting area. Just the city is kind of a shithole and there's nothing to do there. Tbilisi is easily the only proper city in Georgia. Best alternatives are cool, well preserved smaller villages in mountains with the local towers, etc. Go there with a driver, tour or a marshutka, check in a cosy b&b, get offered chacha or local wine and good food. Then hike up the mountains for prime Caucasus scenery.

Ok so if I go I'll just get a driver to go into the countryside

Or get a marshutka. They don't cost a lot. You pay when you get off, always in cash. It would help to speak a little bit of language, but in Tbilisi there are big bus stops full of them and quite often the destinations are written in Latin script, so just go for it.

Did you go see the abandoned sanatoriums in Kutaisi? That's the main reason I want to go there. Here in Armenia there doesn't seem to be that much cool old Soviet stuff or at least it seems very spread out, so I want to scratch that itch in Georgia. Idk maybe I didn't look enough.

Also can confirm that Armenian women are fricking hot and curvy, really didn't expect that. Much better looking than the Kardashians as their bodies aren't full of botox or whatever those celebs are filling their bodies with. Russian really is completely ubiquitous here, everyone old and young speaks it and in the center of Yerevan it feels like you hear it almost as much as Armenian

When you google old Soviet buildings in Georgia and Armenia respectively, the results for Georgia are much more plentiful and look more interesting

Agree. Georgian food is really good. When you eat khinkhali, the big ones, I recommend you don't eat the "stem" or "nipple" or whatever you want to call it. It's tasty but it'll fill you up too quickly.

          Yeah man.

Holy shit, I'm so moronic. But again. I didn't even knew what I'm eating. I just said I want this and this because it was "popular" at Glovo. or some shit.

To add, the point of khikhali is to suck the juice first as that's the highlight. So take the top bit by the hand, chew a small hole and suck it all right out. Then eat what's left of the meat and casing, and discard the top part (which has uncooked dough in it due to thickness)

meat only really works well with khikhali imho, cheese ones are tasty, but they're notwhere near as good

It's quite different then. Strange Dish.

ArmeBlack person here in the US

Tblisi is more "liberal" I guess than say Yerevan but overall both are pretty conservative. If you are going for girls its gonna be tough. Not as hard as Armenia I would guess but in general in Armenia women aren't really about casual hookups (sizable portion are virgins before marriage unless long term bf/fiancee). This isn't even necessarily due to women being more "pure" but its a small nation with gossiping hens and women live at home with their parents = less degeneracy. In Georgia I assume its similar, but in both countries if you are a foreigner you MAY get lucky due to you having no one to gossip to but again very rare, you may have better luck DMing girls on instagram but again dont count on. Plus men will think of you differently and may even get aggressive if you pull some coomer shit.

Also what anons said about annoying liberalny russians is true. Worst libtard homosexuals from Russia have come and jacked up rent. However in both countries you can find decently cheap rent in the outskirts of the city center. Idk what that anon said about awful food I love georgian food.

I didn't try dating here so you might be right, but every other girl here in Yerevan is walking around in really tight and revealing tops with their big breasts, it doesn't seem very "conservative" to me. Idk maybe they're all Russians

        Anonymous

both, armenian women dress more feminine but are actually more sexually conservative than the zoomer women in georgia. also russians too. Georgians try to larp as europeans more and have been trickling in degeneracy like gay rights and promiscuity to appease the west, armenia isn't really under that pressure too much as they are disillusioned with the West (although not to say zoomers dont act more "western"

armenians try to seperate themselves from muzzies because of the genocide and us being cucked by mudslimes throughout our hstory so we dont go crazy with the covering up shit. However men value purity in women long term and they aren't cucked as to let their women be disgusting prostitutes like in the west or even eastern europe honestly.

    Tbilissi pros:

    1. Women are hot and more liberal, more willing to date/hook up if they're university students. Just be careful of their family, many have brothers in the army for example and they tend to be overprotective, so try to be respectful and don't behave like the typical american frickboy looking for pussy. Women won't be down to hook up if that's the only thing you're after, be more laid back and try to learn about their country/culture, show a genuine interest and they'll be more down to frick even if they know it's not going to be a relationship. Places to look for: Downtown, shopping areas, areas close to universities, nice places to socialize too if you're young.

    2. Food and booze are good, and prices tend to be affordable unless you hit socialite spots filled with rich russians burning cash like a furnace.

    3. Easy to find cheap accomodation despite the recent surge of russian immigrants, you can rent an airbnb without spending crazy money. Just make sure you book a few months in advance.

    4. Relatively safe assuming you're not a jackass. Again, people are conservative there so if you look for trouble you'll find it (Disrespect the women, pick fights, etc).

    Cons:

    1. Russians moved in by the shit ton, so rent and cost of living went up. The russians that moved in typically had a lot of money saved up or are straight up business folks wanting to protect their wealth. So the days of Tbilissi being a cheap haven where you could buy a modern house close to downtown for 75k are over.

    2. It became more difficult for foreigners to do business there, open bank accounts, get residency, so if you had any long term plans there think twice. With that type of hassle i'd move elsewhere like Turkey, at least the lira would allow me to live like a king for decades without much hassle, and they sell citizenships.

It's got a bit of a melancholic vibe, the whole country is obsessed with their X century glory. The puppet theater in your pic is a great intro into the culture, I ended up laughing at the puppets' misery. I'm salsero and think the women here are gorgeous, with pale skin, dark features and slim bodies.

Georgia is a small country, what you need to do is plan your trip in a way to exploit the fact that Georgia is in multiple climate zones, has sea, deserts, tropical areas, mountains etc.
    2 week sample tour
    >Week one central and east Georgia
    Day 1 after arrival.
Go to Old Tbilisi preferably by foot or bike through Rustaveli Avenue. Stop at Salobiebia for a snack. Explore old town perfect if you book sulfur baths. In the evening go to Keto and Kote it is a bit fancy but the view is very nice and it's in a historical building that used to belong to nobles.
    Day 2
In the morning rent a car or book a guy to drive you to Mtskheta, on the way there eat at a local spot just called Salobie. Go to Jvari monastery, Mtskheta, Svebreastskhoveli, areas around it, on the way back drive to Tbilisi sea and visit Chronicles of Georgia. Mid day and evening same day go and have a stroll in other parts of Tbilisi like Vake and chill in mziuri park or something and then go to Wine factory and dine at Veriko alternatively you can go to Marjanishvili instead of Vake and go to Fabrika this will serve as a small appetizer of where zoomers and hipsters hang around.
    Day 3
Book a guy to drive you from Tbilisi to Jinvali, then to Kazbegi and everything around it, that's a whole day journey with a lot of places to see and on the way there eat Khinkali at Pasanauri village any restaurant really.
    Day 4
Drive from Tbilisi to Gori, check Stalin museum, drive from there to Borjomi to check mineral waters and nature around check green monastery, eat at Pesvebi and spend a night there.
    Day 5
Drive to Likani nature reserve, from the drive to Bakuriani, you can visit Tabatskuri lake and drive back to Tbilisi.
    Day 6.
Drive to east Georgia Kakheti, visit Signagi and Telavi and Alaverdi. There is a whole bunch of stuff to see there plus it's great food and main wine making region in Georgia.
    Day 7.
Can be a chill day to relax in Tbilisi before next trip.

      Anonymous

      SighSee broke for me yesterday

      Week 2 east Georgia
      Day 1
Train to Kobuleti, book one of the nicer but still cheap hotels like Aquamarinn at the shore line. Get used to the place and you can have a swim that day.
      Day 2
Drive to Batumi botanical garden, it's a big one and will take up to 3 hours to explore, then drive to Batumi, you can eat at generic spots like Grill town. I suggest just exploring Batumi as a city and not swimming there, all other mentioned places are superior for swimming. Taste Adjarian Khachaluri at Retro. In the evening on the way back you can eat some fish at Fishlandia.
      Day 3.
Drive to Dendrological park, on the way there pack food for the day from Kobuleti not that many good stuff up there. After Dendrological park to to a beach in Guria like Chakvi right there and relax for most of the day, beaches there are clean and water is very nice and warm usually with small pleasant weaves. It is also magnetic sand beaches so allegedly it has some health benefits. Drive back to Kobuleti, usually if you become friends with locals at the inn they will make every evening fun for you.
      Day 4
Get a tour to drive you around historical places in Adjara, various caves, Gonio fortress, Dandalo bridge, high mountain villages, waterfalls etc. Every evening and morning can be supplemented with just chilling at the beach.
      Day 5.
Drive to Guria again but this time go hiking to Gomis mta and it's surroundings for the whole day, it will be a great trip.
      Day 6.
Go to Batumi again, book Dolphinarium visit and you can try out one of the more fancier restaurants like wine restaurant marani.

This is a high quality post, I m saving all this and hope to see your vision come to life one day anon.

How do Georgians feel about babies in public? In the states people tolerate babies almost everywhere except fancy restaurants and bars, and changing babies or breast feeding isn’t really taboo in public. It’s not unusual to see both men and women bring babies on hikes and around town in backpacks. How does Georgia compare?

Kek what the frick are you talking about anon, maybe in like some liberal coastal city thats acceptable because muh wahman but any suburb you do that in will garner you dirty looks from karens and bobs. Caucuses don't have a death drive like the US and actually like children and that stuff is acceptable

I don't get how people can like children. Sure they're necessary and should be encouraged but they ruin so much for adults with their screaming and constant need for attention. There is nothing more annoying in this world than children. Also they're fricking cruel to each other

This. They should be locked away at home until they're trained to not scream and can behave in public.

Went on a Caucasus trip recently, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Abkhazia. Best city in Caucasus is Baku by far, but best country overall is Georgia by a mile in every aspect.

      >baku
Really? AZ seems the least interesting and it is just a globohomosexual petro state fake country. There is zero cool interesting historical sites and the country is secular so no cool religious sites either. Baku feels like a soulless place akin to dubai

I'm here right now. Of the Caucasus cities it is the best one. Nightlifewise it doesn't have much to offer, but the city is clean, nice, and safe. Good spot to chill. Tons of hookers is the biggest surprise who all Cater to Saudis and Arab tourists who come here to cheat on their wives. Also, the mountains in the north part of the country outside Quba are god tier and better than any landscape in Armenia

Elaborate. You can't just say a country is the best.
