Saved up Ten Thousand Dollars, how far can i go with it?

Im a 26 year old swede, ive been a wagie since i finished school and ive saved up 10k usd and im wondering how far i can go with this much money?

Before i settle down somewhere and try to start a family i want to live and "go wild".
I am tall and fit and have no problem being social and make friends easily but i did waste most of my youth in front of the computer so im basically dreaming of making up for it by travelling and partying a bit now, i have no time limit only the limit of 10k usd. I have no concrete plan and im thinking freestyling it will be more fun than meticulously planning it out. but my big goals would be visiting Mongolia and just sightsee and ride horses there. Then on to Japan because it seems interesting and i grew up liking manga so can probably have fun there too, then i was thinking of going to Thailand to party and relax at the beach, and then on to Australia and New Zealand and dive in the great barrier reef. Possibly working some low tier job to make some more cash along the way.
Obviously i would try to travel as cheap as possible, not flying but rather slowly pacing my way forward with whatever i can, cheap train bus bike walking lifting etc. I know this maybe comes off as naive and moronic but id just like some feedback on how viable this would be and if you have any tips or criticism?

You listed many destinations, you want to trim the list down a bit because many people regretted not taking it slower on long trips and you can still speed up if a place ends up boring you.

An overland trip to Mongolia via Central Asia is certainly a possibility, as a Swede you can enter 4/5 ex-Soviet -stan countries without a visa for at least 30 days and Central Asia is a suitable place for spontaneous decisions and ten thousand dollars will last you for a long while.
You can even try to get a Russian transit/tourism visa if you want to do the whole trip overland.

yea i will focus on getting to mongolia first and experiencing that country and then focus on the next goal and take it slow so nothing is set in stone. I was originally thinking of taking the Transsiberian railroad from st.petersburg into mongolia but now with the war and whatnot i wonder how that would be affected. The central asian countries seem beatiful and as long as its not dangerous i would love to go to the stan countries, only problem i see is the language i only know english, of course i could use a translation book for basic things

You'll need as much Russian in Russia as you need in FSU Central Asia and they're as dangerous as Russia, namely people overestimate the risk when looking at it from the outside.

but do you think its reasonable to do the entire Europe-Mongolia-Japan-Oceania slow trip with 10k? Or is it too little? To me its alot of money but i only know japan and Australia is expensive but its not like im gonna stay in luxury hotels, ill live as sparingly as possible

That entirely depends on your schedule and activities.
Do some rough planning and then look up prices for trains, flight and hostels.

This. More time in fewer places is the way to go. Spend a month in each place. Maybe two weeks minimum.

thats the plan, since i do not intend to have a deadline for the trip the only limit is the money. Ill take it slow and do as many things as possible in each place

        don't listen to him
you can absolutely do australia and new zealand
as a swede you are eligible for a working holiday visa in both countries
meaning you can stay for up to a year and are allowed to work
so you could burn through most of your money, arrive in australia, find work, and continue travelling for another year

thanks anon thats what i was thinking too, sounds good

im pretty bad at sex i used to watch porn so much i have been having problems with porn induced premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Ive been free from porn for 3 months now and ive realized i need to find a patient woman who can help me heal my brain so i can have good sex.

so im gonna try and find a good woman to practice with and become good at sex, and then let loose during the trip and get all the fricking out of my system with foreign girls, then ill find some nice peasant village girl and pump her full of kids.

Terrible idea as going wild can irreparably change you mentally, physically, financially, socially, and spiritually... and all in a bad way.

FYI, no one here will help you if you ever get troubled. Think twice before taking their drive -by advice. And no, I don't give a frick about you either.

i would rather do the things i desire and regret them rather than not doing them and regretting them anyway. Ive gotten help from complete strangers in other countries before and i have helped strangers as well.

anon ausgay here - don't come to aus or new zealand if you want your money to go far, but you can get work here if you get a working holiday visa. then stack some cash and go back to asia.

But to stretch your 10k as long as possible if I were you Id basically just the cheapest plane you can to thailand or viet and stay there for as long as possible.
      Australia will bleed your money.

i was thinking that the primary trip will be central asia into mongolia into japan into south east asia.

After that i would aim for a working visa in aus and stack some cash like you said, and just experience the country, and in particular i want to dive in the great barrier reef, which has been a childhood dream of mine. I also want to stay in Australia or New Zealand because im considering moving there and settling permanently, so i want to know whats its like in your countries.

so what i mean is that im not gonna spend any huge amount of cash there beyond the great barrier reef,. Since the visa is for up to 4 years i maybe just stay somewhere if i find a decent wagie job and just enjoy life in a sunny country. Sweden is very depressing during the winter so even a menial job is preferable to going home

You are wrong and moronic. It's fricking expensive here. The airfare back to sweden alone will be at least 1500 dollarydoos.
The only way you'll achieve coming here at the end of your trip is what

says. Which is stupid, because you won't be having an enjoyable holiday. You'll be flipping burgers at maccas, or worse picking fruit in rural Queensland.
It makes signifcantly more sense to either only do Aus/NZ or skip them like other anons ITT have said.

If you get a "decent" place, take taxis everywhere, eat out a couple of times a day, and have fun with women regularly, that amount will last you about 30 days in a second/third-world country. If you go to some "popular" european country it'll last you 20 days. People ALWAYS spend more money than they think they will when doing almost anything, especially traveling. I'm a "seasoned" traveler now and usually end up spending (all things considered) $200-$320 per day. Even though I pretend to be "good" at traveling, I cannot magically avoid eating foods I'm accustomed to, literally traveling from point A, B, and C throughout the day (taxi, rental car, et cetera), having a MODERATELY SAFE roof over my head (airbnb, hostel, hotel), -- everything costs money and there's no way to live for stupidly low amounts per day like dumb lying youtubers claim on every "I spent three months solo traveling for $600!!!" -- those are ALL lies. Every last video is a lie. Even second and third-world countries take MONEY to even exist in.

Try getting a taxi in a third-world country for less than $4.00 per hour. That alone means you're paying $240.00 per month if you travel more than 2 hours round-trip per day, you know what I mean? If you have AMAZING self-discipline you can eat like a holocaust prisoner, ONLY walk for hours per day, and stay in an UNSAFE hostel for $10.00 per day and then MAYBE spend less than $90.00 per day all things considered, but that's HARD to do for most people I can promise you that.

      Wtf?
You can go in a youth hostel in most European capitals for less than 20, even 10e a night.
Then eat sandwiches for 5e, or go to a cheap restaurant for let's say 10e (x2 for diner) .
Even if you have 2 drinks at night, let's say 15e.
That's 20 + 20 + 15 = 55e if you allow yourself to go to restaurants and have fun at night. Not 250e! Most European cities are small enough to walk, or ride a city bike for less than 2 e.
You don't have to pay for public transport all the time, or can get a 2 days ticket or 1 week ticket.

The cheapest I've done is doing workaway where you work a bit in exchange for food and accommodation. I've donz 4 weeks in Italy like that and just spent 200euros including the trip there in carpooling (blablacar) from france, and gifts home to my family.

There's always a way to travel cheap and have fun. Just don't go to expensive airbnbs if you don't have the budget.

Congrats idiot you are spending almost 10 times as much as me and you even have to stay in hostels. Your whole post is ludicrous, like what kind of poseur flexes that they spend 2 hours per day in taxis? Anyway I'm not going further good luck to you.

    Hi OP,

I spent 10k in Japan over the course of 3 months ( a little more than 100 a day combined expenses in 2012. That was 10 years ago.

I think you going to travel is a great idea and you should definitely do it, but go instead places that are CHEAP.

    I mean Bali
    I mean Vietnam
    I mean Thailand
    China if it opens
Maybe South America if that’s your thing.

    I don’t mean Japan
    I don’t mean Singapore
I don’t mean Spain, Italy or France

You will be able to stay out much much much longer doing it this way, like double the number of days. This will allow you to go much slower and enjoy the trip more.

For reference, on 10k, you could live comfortably in SEA for 9 months. If you spend all your time in expensive places, probably 3 months max depending on your choices.

Not needing to worry about financial choices will give you a much deeper sense of freedom.

Be warned though, coming home, the pain is deep. Life was meant to be more. Save at least 2k and start a business or wage 4 life. Funny but actually sad and true.

ill keep your advice in mind
Like i said before in the thread, i will definitely spend the majority of my trip in cheap places like central asia and southeast asia so the trip lasts as long as possible.

but at the very least australia/new zealand i want to go to because i am considering if i should move from sweden and settle there somewhere in the future. And i will try to find a job there to save up some more money and keep going.
