total hellhole. frick all to do. the people are either awfully sanitized and boring or schizophrenic ice addict aboriginals or insufferable know-it-alls. a grand total of three things to see in the city, and none of them are worth it. beaches are nice, but there's a million better places with good beaches. everything is insanely expensive here and subpar - food, housing, internet etc. A million miles away from anything, flights to anywhere that isn't bali are extortionate.

what do you even want to do here? go to melbourne or sydney if you're just visiting.

it's just interesting, that's all. random states in the US are different because there's like 0 federal govt buildings so sometimes it's almost like a new country. Australia seems very unitary so having a large city away from everything is weird. probably won't visit though, thx

Perth is nice, but not nice enough to be a 6hr flight away from literally anything else, also when Perth has bad times (iron ore price is low), it can get quite run down.

It's also full of rich people who don't deserve to be rich

Aus cities aren't that culturally distinct from each other due to most of our settlement happening after mass communication was invented.

nah it's not even interesting different, it's just a small city with nothing worth seeing. being a million miles away from everything, coupled with other factors, make it prohibitively expensive here too. i'm 22 and there's no way i'll ever buy a house here. houses don't exist for under 500 grand unless you want to live next door to feral aboriginals and literal meth labs. realistically i'm sure you'd have a nice time seeing the beaches or whatever or going to rottnest, but you'll see nothing new or even remotely interesting or unique enough to justify the airfare.

WA has some nice national parks though, but they're all in the north of the state and at least a two day drive from Perth.

Nothing really happens, its the Australian equivalent of one of those random state capitals you've never heard of in the US.
Western Australia makes a lot of money in the mining sector so the city is filled with a lot of 'new rich' bogans in gaudy six bedroom houses in the burbs.
Rotnest Island has quokkas though which people seem to love.

nobody else thinks it's cool to have a major city an entire day's drive from anywhere else? What else is comparable? Manaus in Brazil?

yeah it's just much smaller and there are villages along the river every 20km or so. Like an island

it's way more than a day from anything significant, the parallels would be places like Alaska, southern Baja, maybe Patagonia/southern Chile, some Arabian peninsula places maybe.

It's Adelaide but bigger and shittier
    >What's an adelaide?
Melbourne but smaller and shittier (as a tourist at least)

Adelaide is the best big city in Australia and it isn't even fricking close.

I travel pretty extensively for work, but.. I kinda agree. followed closely by Hobart in my opinion (sydgay here. Melbourne went to shit in the last 10 years as well).

Perth was alright... but its was basically a giant country town. lipstick on a pig

        It's amazing to live in.
But outside of the fringe there's no reason to visit

Like all places in Australia it is a complete shithole full of whiny no-fun-allowed c**ts and rip-off prices

    >Adelaide is good
    No

But seriously why is Australia like this? Australia has been one of the biggest travel blackpills, some of the most joyless people on the planet live there. Complete opposite of the stereotype.

It's the Aussie version of Edmonton.
    >Clean
    >Safe
    >Remote
    >Boring
    >Surprisingly big city for how little you've heard about it
No real reason to visit unless you have business or family there, especially considering how expensive it is to get there.

Mate, do not under any circumstances go to Perth, the whole joint is fricked. Its only redeeming quality is the sheila at the Wellington St. post office. She's bloody gorgeous
