spectacular landings and take-offs

Are there any places left that have hair-raising landings or take offs at a major airport?

It seems like there are very few city airports anymore, most have been relocated somewhere planes don't performs these kinds of maneuvers over populated areas.

I have flown into SAN a bunch of times which is stunning but I don't think it's anywhere near as crazy as Kai Tak was.

Has anyone here specifically flown somewhere just for the airport itself?

never been to taiwan but maybe Songshan could give a similar vibe? I don't think there truly will ever be another kai tak ever again though

Rio and Songshan definitely had a Kai Tak vibe on youtube videos but I couldn't find good videos of Sucre. Youtube suggested Toncontin (Honduras) which has Kai Tak style hard turns but they're moving that airport apparently as they are

I think Mexico city is a pretty weird landing. Pretty sure the pilot has to immediately descend after passing over the mountains bordering the city.

      in Mexico City.

I've flown TIJ-MEX and all I remember about MEX was looking down as we landed and thinking "all I see is concrete no trees or open space, what a shithole." TIJ has a cool takeoff that banks hard immediately after the runway to avoid entering US airspace.

Not really answering your question, but, I loved spending time in Thailand ontop of a hotel in a roof-top pool watching planes go overhead. So relaxing and cool.

When covid started I went some places in California they landed them for storage. Was cool to see 747s coming in.
My body is too broken for parkour though.

Paro in Bhutan. You can find videos on youtube. It's an insane landing.

I'll check it out. Too bad Bhutan is such a pain to travel to.

The landing at Naples airport is quite impressive if you approach from the West.
