Teaching English abroad

Hi all, apologies if this is not the right board but I wanted to teach English in Japan but do not have a bachelors degree. I did however pass a TEFL certification for teach English abroad but I don't have the 10 years experience they require yet. I have heard of people using fake degrees and was wondering if you guys thought it would work, I know they started cracking down on that sort of thing a few years back. Or I could possibly just say I have the 10 years experience? I'm 31 so the time frame would pan out I think. Thank you in advance!

    just get your degree
seriously you will have major issues if you don't you cant get a visa and no place will hire you
maybe you will get to work in Cambodia or Thailand and be taken major advantage of and a shit deal

Yeah that's the issue, I'd have to go for another 3 years to finish my degree and have a ton of debt. I'm just asking for thoughts on getting a fake diploma or just saying I've had 10 years experience in TEFL. The degree doesn't even matter really, they give you the syllabus on what to do its just like any other job.

I would say it's honestly not worth it, there are plenty of places you can teach with just a TEFL and no degree, and chances are you eventually get busted and deported. Japan is also overhyped and oversaturated for TEFL anyways, if you want to go there just visit as a tourist.

Yeah I know, but I've been there a few times and have some friends over there. I enjoy the culture and would like to reconnect with some friends.

I'm in the same boat only with an associates and in Vietnam

You might be able to make it on that honestly.

another weaboo loser *but in Japan*, jesus fricking christ.
Japan is not a trashbag for all the losers who can't make it in the west.
It's not 2005 anymore, get a fricking degree or frick off.

          can you gays frick off
you wont get any good or even decent jobs doing this especially not in Japan.
Just go to the cheapest college you can and get your degree idiot, college might suck but that dumbass piece of paper is the minimum requirement for anything now basically the new high school diploma, it not just tricking your employer it is required by law for your work permits which leads to your visa and residency.

Because it gives you the piece of paper that you need to go fulfill your weeb dream. What kind of fricktarded question is that? Either get it or don't go to your shit ass chink country

You are required to have a bachelor's degree to qualify for the instructor visa, which is what you need to do what you want to do.

My degree or completion letter got checked in the immigration office as I went for my VISA, GUESS YOU JUST WOULDN'T GET THE visa IF YOU LIED but I guess you'd be found out

with most jobs within your home country you probably could get away with faking a bachelor's degree, but these c**ts in Japan they double and triple check everything. You're probably better off just getting a two year degree from an online school or something.

    >fake degree
I remember one time I was sitting having a beer in the kitchen with one of my housemates while living in Tokyo.
    >hear someone come in
    >French housemate bursts in and asks if either of us know Photoshop
    >why
    >"well my 90 days visa is about to expire and I need working visa but they want a university degree and I don't have one"
    >he works as a gardener
    >so you're going to try forge a degree from some french university
    >next day at university
    >arrive early
    >ask professor who is American but lived in japan for 15 years what would happen if one were to commit diploma forgery
    >"5 years prison hard labor no doubt and you do get caught they 9/10 call the university to double check"

I assume he didn't try because he left Japan a few months later.

Don't even try. Worst case you're going to be refused entry next time you try to arrive to Japan.

    >could I possibly just say I have the 10 years experience?
how? they're just gonna look up your references, and assuming you have none, you'll just be outed as a fraud.
in addition, companies talk to each other, as they do everywhere. they're gonna email everyone your fake CV and blacklist you.

since you don't have a college degree, I assume you have a trade?

No you cannot unless you are on a student visa and teaching illegally for a shit pay and you might be caught and deported/banned from the country.
Do you speak French? You might be able to get a French teaching job, they are much rarer but I have seen them around.

Why do you want to move to Japan?
What will you be doing in Japan?
Do you have some goal in mind?

You're going to be working 8h+/day doing something you don't like

        >JET/english teacher arrives to japan
        >omg so cool bro look im eating ramen someone called me jouzu
        >2 months pass and extra funds run out
        >most days spent just working then going home because no money to do anything except drink with other foreigners
        >grow bitter and disenchanted
        >"hurr man japan sucks I fricking hate these bug people"
        >leave
        >be assmad for eternity because they didn't like teaching english and weren't really paid well so their life was more shit than it was back home
        >"japan sucks bro everyone is so racist and bro it's such a shit country man people use fax like oh my god CDs and paper"

okay let's assume you endure 5 years of shit pay from a shit job without leaving or an heroing.

you now have 5 years teaching experience in Japan, you didn't get that wife you wanted because a lot of japanese girls
        >a. don't date foreigners because they're a big unknown in terms of stability
        >b. are insane
        >c. you are a poor gaijin with no car, no house, poor future prospects and do not look like chris evans

you've realized japan is pretty far from paradise and maybe you want to go back home

you are now in your late 20s/early 30s, do not have a career, do not have a pension outside japan, have next to nothing to your name, maybe you know japanese pretty well, but fat chance of that serving you outside japan, and you realize maybe finishing your college degree might not be such a bad idea after all, considering literally every job in japan requires a college degree.

be a little more patient and finish your degree. do a freemover exchange or something to test the waters.
don't cheat, don't commit fraud. maybe in a few years you wont even wanna go.

Clearly, the overwhelming majority of people that go to university today are morons unable to think for themselves; utterly neutered and void of any concept of wisdom or commonsense.

          I encourage anyone with a proper, working mind to avoid college at all costs and either;
A: find a country that is not globohomosexual assimilated - freedom precedes gay judas shekels, remember that. (Boomer HR slave papers will not be needed in these places either.)
          B: https://warosu.org/biz/thread/1659486#p1659647
(Print your own boomer HR slave paper brrrrr and run wild for a couple of years in your globohomosexual country first before you bail, print out some extras and give them to your friends!)

Why can't I find a single school/agency that doesn't have a million years worth of negative reviews? Surely there has to be one school/agency that isn't a complete scam, right?

I mean, seriously, everywhere I've applied to has horrible contract clauses specifically meant to frick over the teacher. What's the point of spending thousands of dollars to get to a country that is going out of its way to frick over the teachers? Is East and Southeast Asian schools nothing but scams?
