Frick Pearson. Bishop is the GOAT- fly there instead at all costs. Customs at Pearson is one of the shittiest experiences I’ve ever had the displeasure of going through.

ive had experiences where i was not happy with an airport but i feel like they were just shitty days for the airport and not the average reflection.
been at toronto pearson when literally every flight was waiting 3 hours for their luggage. sure it is too expensive but most times things have seemed fine a means to an end. billy bishop airport was really comfy tho.
been at jfk domestic terminal during christmas rush and it was unpleasant but it was a natural surge of travelers.
been at london heathrow waiting in the crushed masses outside the airport waiting to get inside when uk gave a 5 day heads up they were going to close the country again the first autumn of covid.

Casablanca just cause it's rundown as shit.

Second for Casablanca. Not only because it’s a run down shit hole but also because it’s a hub for west Africa so you get hordes of sub-50 IQ actual African Black folk unable to follow directions and fricking everything up.

Hawai airports seem so chill I’m surprised no one mentions them much. They may not have the amenities some of the “best” airports do, but I never feel that background stress I do at other airports. The vibe alone is enough to make them high up

I assume its because unlike other airports, Hawaii isnt really a place for getting connecting flights.

Everyone flying into and out of Hawaii is there for a pretty long flight. When passengers arent in a rush / accept their fate they become pretty chill

Maui has open air to outside thats what I like about it. Best is when its humid and hot and raining outside. Come out of your gate, everyone is chill including security and then there's no walls to the building so the fresh air just breezes in and the whole place smells like that after rain tropical smell.
          >lack of amenities
nah you're stuck in mass consumer burger mode, its one of the only airports that hasn't turned itself into a shopping mall with burger king and perfume shops everywhere thank fricking god

    Worst, in no particular order:
    Bagdogra (India)
    Santa Marta (Colombia)
    Almaty (Kazakhstan)
    Ft. Lauderdale (USA)
    CDG (France)

No idea why Narita is so fricking highly rated, either—it’s impossible to find any non-meme food there for a reasonable price. I paid like $10 for a roll that turned out to be half fricking empty. I always fricking hate airports that have non-chain restaurants, like FLL and Narita. Suck my barbarian American dick, if I’m travelling, I want some chain bullshit where I know what I’m getting

what sucks the most about kuala lumpur airport (at least in the terminal i was in) is that they literally do not even sell bottles of water after security. i almost mentioned atlanta due to all of the restaurants in the airport being staffed by actual gorillas from the zoo, but honestly i found it more impressive than anything that they were actually able to train them to perform such complex tasks.

heathrow and dublin have been the worst for me and i've probably been to 50+ airports. heathrow mostly because of the layout, and dublin because of the useless people. pray nothing ever goes wrong if you have a transfer through dublin. in retrospect it's probably no worse than any other third world country, but i guess i expected better.

Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka is the worst airport I have experienced. It is a claustrophobic airport with low ceilings that looks like it was built in the early 1970s and has never been updated. Every store in the airport only accepts US dollars which is weird since the currency of Sri Lanka is rupees but without USD you cannot even buy a bottle of water and a sandwich. The airport is poorly organised and the customer service is shit. Sri Lanka itself is nice, but their airport is awful.

    Dubai.
Indians and blacks. Everywhere. Toilets were disgusting because of this. The eateries were also filthy. Everything felt like a facade, there was a raffle for a BMW i8 or something, it was on display next to a McDonald's which was covered in trash and had dirty floors. Strange place that I would avoid if given the choice.
The only saving grace was the rather open layout.

I landed at ICN at around 6AM and had a flight to Detroit at 10. I searched the entire airport looking for a large water bottle and couldn't find one. The entire fricking airport. All I could get is a couple of 16 oz water bottles. That shit is NOT enough for a 12 hour flight. They apparently do not drink water in Korea because they don't sell it at the damn airport.

Hands down Mexico City (benito juarez). It's old and dilapidated as frick and really cramped and overcrowded in a lot of areas. Terminal 1 has claustrophobically low ceilings. To get to Terminal 2 you have to pay $2 to take a bus through city traffic. Absolute shitheap of an airport.

    Quite a few
    >Tapachula airport (Mexico)
Not only it was on remodelations when i was there, but Volaris shat the bed and "resheduled" our flight for the next day (Aka hopping on loopholes to not be required to pay for hotels and food), so there were no working power outlets, the food is overpriced as frick and it was really dusty
    >Venice airport
Just get there on train+bus, there's nothing good there
    >Riga airport
Long queues, understaffed as frick, the entire place looks like a commieblock, at least the chairs were ok-ish to sleep for a while
    >Mexico City Benito Juarez (Terminal 1)
Everything that the anon over me said, terminal 2 is actually pretty decent but it's rare to land there on local flights

Can confirm with some posts as my last trip was ATL -> CDMX

Atlanta airport is decent but my goodness, every single restaurant has fricking animals with nothing to lose for staff that you're better off eating out of the trash can.

Benito Juárez airport was the opposite, place is old and outdated but the staff/immigration/luggage carriers were quite nice. Hell, even the dude cleaning the bathrooms had a smile on his face and was proudly earning his pesos...

        Anonymous

Checked. ITA when was the last time you flew out of there anon? I was there 2 weeks ago for a connecting flight. Worst layover ever. The whole place is under construction so none of the terminals are connected. If you flight is in another terminal, you have to leave the airport, walk to the entrance to the other terminal, and go through security again. It’s so fricking bullshit. Plus the terminals are small as frick. They have like 5 gates, 2 bathrooms and 1 place to eat

          Anonymous

Yeah I'll give you that terminal 1 sucks ass. I lived in SD for years so I'm biased. Haven't had a bad experience there yet but I usually fly out of terminal 2 on weekends. Last I flew out of there was earlier this month.

Moscow. This was years ago, but I head a long layover and the visa to leave the airport would cost like 500 or something. They had little taped off areas where people could smoke, but still inside the terminal. No one spoke any english, no ATMs and you could only pay for shut with rubbles
