Thoughts on Dubai? My brother and his family are going soon and he offered me to come along, never even considered going there before.

>going as a 3rd to a place where people go on a honeymoon to fuck 0-24
They've been together for like 20 years at this point and are going with their 4 kids of varying ages
I don't think they're going for that
These trips are not about the destination, its about the hotel and its services. If you think that you need a week or two having a great time by the pool and the sea then go. I went like this with my family and I was heartbroken seeing all the young adults being on honrymoon and young families having a great tims.

while you were a loser with no wife, no family, and terribly, terribly, alone?
Yeah that's what he implied dumbass
Dubai seems like a cultural shithole I would avoid. Gulf Arabs are rich from doing nothing besides collecting an oil dividend payment and foreigners run their country.
weird place to take your family on a trip
you can see malls and subways anywhere, it's got nothing to offer anymore
Why not check it out?
I'd enjoy the food, the waterpark, maybe a desert trip.
I went in April for the Expo after planning it for two years, I had a great time. The Burj Khalifa and the Mall is obviously the first thing to do and it was amazing, probably the coolest thing I have ever seen was being up there and looking down. Get at least the VIP pass, so you can go six floors higher and skip the line, its worth it.
The expo was also great unfortunately its over, but the train goes all the way to the campus so you might still be able to check it out even though it's over.
If I were there for longer I would have went to legoland or ferarri world in abu dhabi. The old town "bur dubai" was really lively at night if you just want to cruise around late night and look for cheap food.
Reddit and the internet give Dubai and UAE a bad reputation, but I have to say that it was phenomenal and I felt very safe, and I didn't see anyone who looked "opressed" just a lot of people out enjoying themselves at the mall or the marina.
I'll answer any questions you have
I met a UAE guy traveling in Thailand. He was basically on vacation from his cushy government job and was blowing money on fancy hotels, business class flights, booze, and hookers.
Are you going to Dubai as part of a layover to somewhere more interesting?
If yes, then feel free to stay for two or three nights.
If no, why are you even bothering to fly there?
Terrible, huge shopping mall with rude tribal people everywhere
