Not at all, I regularly get opportunities to meet new people and in my country everyone is stand offish and weary of others.

You're not working when you travel but at home work consumes your life. It is not possible to have good relationships and meet new fun, interesting people if you're working all the time.

Imagine if you had total control over your time 7 days a week and no financial constraints. You'd be able to have a good time and build a social life even in your home city.

most of the people you meet while travelling are temporary meaningless acquaintances.

Which country? In America, everyone is super insular, so it's borderline impossible to make friends. If you're from a more social country, it's more likely a change in routine than a change in people that's causing you to meet new people.

I don't know if people are more friendly when they travel, or travelers are friendly and that is why they travel (while regular people only travel with family/friends and never talk with anyone else).

Travel-mojo is a real thing. You go through airports, you meet fellow people with travel-mojo who wanna frick around, look at museums, and drink beers. Also people who travel solo are cooler, and more based than group travel gays.

Yes but they're also weird and your time with a solo traveller is just a game of "how long until I find out why he's not with friends." I say this as a solo traveller myself.

Why can’t a person want to travel by themself to another country, especially a tourist hotspot, and just experience things on their own to see cool shit and do fun stuff? I understand the sentiment that if they’re alone there’s a higher chance they’re “weird”, this is common in all aspects of life when someone is out in public doing “fun” stuff, but the idea that’s it’s universal that there’s something wrong with them I think is more wrong than making the sometimes correct assumption that they’re weird if they’re alone.

Travel groups are only bad if there's someone's nagging gf/wife bringing the mood down. Traveling with an all male group is based, and they're always there to party hard

Probably because the only English speaking people you meet in those countries are other happy travelers/tourists. Everyone's happy on holiday.
