Tell me some stories how does it feel to get into heavy turbulence. I flow at least 100 times but I never got into anything crazy like this

it's a intense roller coaster ride, but instead of you knowing you're safe, the safety barriers holding you in feel like they are a little loose so you internally panic.

It feels like going through a bumpy road on a fast car, pretty much because that's what turbulence is about.

Flown all my life without issues. Found out the hard way I developed some air sickness at 35...few minutes of bad bumps and I started sweating and got really hot...followed by nausea. Hell. Now I take non-drowsy dramamine or get hammered before my flights - no issues since.

    >quick flight on a small plane from Rio to Florianopolis
    >turbulence was so bad, people were saying prayers ion Portuguese
    >everyone cheered upon landing, which is common in Latin America
Scariest flight ever. I didn't have much faith in the plane or crews.

    >heavy turbulence
Never had one. At worst it's just been rocking back and forth slightly for a few minutes here and there.

    >transatlantic flight NYC to Paris
    >no issues, super smooth comfortable flight
    >return flight time Paris to NYC
    >a few hours in flight
    >be me, sitting in middle seat
    >passenger in window needs to use the bathroom
    >me & aisle seat move accordingly
    >window seat returns from el baño
    >me & aisle get up to move once more
    >out of nowhere, plane drops
    >instinctively grabbed my hand on aisle seat arm rest to keep from falling
    >flight attendant from the back of the cabin screams SIT DOWN, she's clinging onto both armrests in the aisle
    >plane has audible gasps, cries of terror
    >i end up in the aisle, aisle seat in middle
    >put on the seat belt for dear life
    >heart racing, trying not to panic
    >whole ordeal maybe 15 seconds max
    >after a few minutes of normal flying, we start to loosen our arm rest death grips
    >sense of relief, wtf was that
    >no issues the rest of the flight

I was on a frontier flight like that 12 years ago with about same turblence. Pretty much everyone just got quiet, people watching movies stopped watching, people take their headphones off and just focus on the turbelance. kind of like when you are driving and shits getting bad you turn off the radio

    >SEA to SIN
    >turbulence starts about 4 hours in
    >starts getting worse.
    >Friend and i start seeing how quiet and focused everyone is.
    >we both put our hands up in the air like its a roller coaster
    >man behind us tells us to stop as we are further upsetting people around us
    >friend lets out a loud "YEEHAW!" as plane drops enough for phones to fly around
    >i hear man unbuckle
    >oh boy, is he tempting fate!?
    >hear attendant "SIR! SIT DOWN NOW!"
    >gravity suddenly stops being a thing. Everything not secured is flying including the white knight.
    >i hear a thud followed by another thud and a groan.
    >my friend start laughing manically.
    >people around us are scared but confused. someone is injured, but a few people around them are still in good spirits. the herd has not reached consensus on how to behave and thus remains mostly calm.
    >turbulence settles enough for FA to tend to man.
    >they get him re-seated
im pretty sure that dude was concussed to the point of brain damage. when it was time to disembark he didnt move and continued to sit there with a vacant expression. Or perhaps is ego was so damaged by his stupidity he lost the ability to function in public.

My worst flight wasn't turbulence related but it was freaky. At take off the plane tilted violently to the left to the point the wing was very close to touching the ground. Everyone on the flight suddenly started speaking to each other and did so, including myself, the entire 2 hours. As we walled off the plane we saw the captain, it was a Black straight from africa.

I have a vivid memory from when I was a kid, me and my dad were flying to D.C., and we got to our row, row 13 (unlucky number) and as we sat down, a stewardess came walking through the aisle counting…something, idk, saying “6…6…6”.
I took that as an omen that this plane was going down, or some bad shit was going to happen, but I didn’t want to inconvenience my dad or be a spaz so I kept it to myself
    And then nothing happened
