US is on the decline bros

And I'm getting tired of it. Redpill me the following cities:

>Stockholm
>Copenhagen
>Amsterdam

I'm a software engineer and would be able to work remotely. Which city would it be easiest for an American to adjust to?

Was just wondering the same thing. Amsterdam is just a big tourist trap with extremely hot escorts that charge $300.00 for 20 minutes of their time. Lots of young college-age kids there to do drugs and party. Why would you live there.

Safety in most of the world really depends on your lifestyle. I don't go to bars or clubs so I'm safe in 98% of the world apart from scams or pickpockets. Southeast Asia is very safe especially in the wealthier communities. I don't like huge cities because they're full of the countries' trash. Argentina and southern Brazil are safe in the wealthier communities. Porto Alegre is kind of a shithole despite its name. Colombia is a shithole especially after Covid.

yeah the USA is in decline. nobody with two brain cells to rub together could possibly disagree. but keep in mind this is decline from being uncontested top dog of the globe by basically every single fricking metric. europeans basically faint when they hear how much americans get paid and what the price of homes are, don't let SighSee memes fool you.

London, among the most dangerous cities in Europe, has a hyper low crime rate when compared to the majority of the US. Your country is overall far more dangerous than almost any other civilised country in the world.

          >feint at our income

There is a danger baseline consisting of not only crime but also nature, building and food standards and, most important, traffic.

          Anonymous

Ok, nature and food isn't overly relevant if you aren't literally out in the jungle. Traffic fatalities are a problem but again, that really depends on your lifestyle. If you aren't a teenage boy driving like a dumbass your chances of dying anywhere in an accident are like 1/100 of normal. If you mostly stay around your condo and get food delivery then your chances are lowered even further.

You didn't get it, all these things are important when living somewhere, no matter your lifestyle:
            - frequency of natural disasters and their chain effects
            - food safety standards are especially important for delivery
            - average traffic safety also affects you as a pedestrian and passenger

Downtown Manhattan is actually statistically safer than most US suburbs if you include negligent vehicular manslaughter/drunk driving in the crime stats. If you want to avoid crack-smoking schizophrenic homeless people publicly defecating on the sidewalk, that’s another metric altogether. But it’s technically not a violent crime to have to lay your eyes upon someone like that, regardless of how unpleasant it is.

Why do leftists in America think only leftists live in Europe? Clearly they've never been. Europe is far fricking better in terms of living standards. Some actually said pay $1000 in rent on the countryside of the US, lmao. fricking idiots don't understand food still costs a shitload and now you'll have to drive everywhere on top of it adding even more costs depending on how much Buden wants his war profiteering in Ukraine to continue.

I moved to Germany and absolutely love it. Even Berlin is 1000 timesore safe and higher standard of living than any major US city, without it being as expensive for receiving absolutely nothing in return. In the US you pay a lot in taxes and get nothing back, no benefit in return. it's hilarious.

The US will go through a civil war within the next 5 years. The troonys will most likely win and I'm not going into a forced labor camp because Mitch McConnell sat on his fat ass and did nothing.

Amerilards generally don't understand how living in a walkable city/town can completely transform your standard of living, especially when paired with ancient (IE beautiful) architecture and human-friendly design. They just can't imagine there's another way of living that doesn't involve stroads and McDonald's coffee runs. It's pointless trying. You could pull up a gorgeous town on Google Maps with cobblestone streets and cozy terraces, and they would say it looks too old and poor for them. (While friendly Zoomer Jamal next door blars mumblerap and their downtown swells with Mariachi music.) They don't know another way because they've never experienced it. It's like trying to tell a European about what it's like to travel through real wilderness. They have zero frame of reference.

nailed it. I was at an American wedding recently in America and all but two groomsmen left by 11:30pm. Only the Japanese stayed late. American culture is solely based on economic, self-centered interests. There was a society and we killed it

        Anonymous

It's a laziness black hole. Boomers grew up driving everywhere and sitting on their ass all the time. Walking is like torture to them. So when you say "walkable development" the boomer feels like you're putting a gun to his head, so he lashes out in anger and confusion. Two generations of americans (boomer and gen x) are completely ruined. you can't take people who lived sedentary lives of slothdom, sitting on their ass on a couch and on their ass in a car and on their ass in a wagecage, and suddenly expect them to enjoy walking in a beautiful place. these spherical blobs are done, they cannot be redeemed or saved, they cannot envision a better way of life, because walkable development demands active interconnected living and the boomer is a fat ball of misery that wants to be a couch potato and consoom cheap food in large quantities. but they're going to strangle the younger generations to death on their way out.

Europe was car-infested in the 70s/80s. In the past 40 years they gutted all that shit back out. So the US isn't doomed forever, but it's doomed for our lifetime. Right now it's easier for an America/n/ to evacuate to Europe than it is for him to fight tooth and nail against boomerlards and entropy to unfrick the land use. And even if we got that started, it would take decades to reclaim the cities from suburban sprawl and car centricity, if it's possible at all. 90% of development is unsustainable and fubar. How do you fix a shithole like houston? you flatten it back to desert and start over.

There's only a few cities in the US that are liveable. The rest is wasteland.

          Anonymous

Quite true and based post, although I'd add that there are many small towns in the US that are (partially) walkable and therefore livable, if you can deal with some areas without sidewalks and the requisite highway running through downtown. It's mainly the cities that are completely FUBAR.
