I am finishing high school this summer and will make the best of the following unemployment!
The plan:
>get an el cheapo second hand moped
>take some kind of ferry to get to Poland (maybe via Germany)
>bisect Poland
>drive through the allegedly visa-free regions of Belarus
>journey through the Baltics
>drive through the allegedly easy-to-access Leningrad oblast of Russia
>pass through southern Finland and ~~Ahvenanmaa~~ Åland to get back
This little excursion will net me a solid 6 countries for the hecking SighSee map, and will constitute a huge Kino no tabi reference, but a few question marks remain, namely:
>what is the cheapest way to get from southern Sweden to Poland (with a moped)?
>how are moped regulations in Belarus and Russia?
>does anyone here have any experience with getting into Belarus and/or Russia?
>does Russia issue e-visas anymore? i checked a website that said they no longer issue "unified" e-visas, but what does this mean? do they still issue ones restricted to specific regions?
>since my bank cards would not work in Russia, what currency should I bring there to exchange to local shekels?
>i am planning on sleeping in a tent along the way due to being a frugal bastard, but how doable is this in the countries i am visiting? i know that it is perfectly legal in Finland but i do not know how easy it would be in the other countries
>would it be worth it financially to sell my moped in Finland and fly back to Sweden? i do not plan on keeping it after the trip
Also, please feel free to recommend things to do or see (mostly see, I am a stingy fuck) along the way!
I suggest visiting the ripe watermelon fields of Russia's Kherson Oblast.
Sadly that's a bit too far off-course for this trip, but maybe another time if I start craving adrenaline really badly
update: mom told me to get a job instead, might have to postpone this
update: i am now gay
I am not, you should consider the rope
if you are not gay, how did I find your semen in my lower intestines?
curious

Ferry. Type in Sweden Poland ferry and you'll find it.
Also you're missing out on Denmark.
Yeah I realize that, I was mostly wondering what ferry is the cheapest option. Thanks anyway though
From memory, the ferry from Ystad should be the cheapest if you're in Skåne, but it probably depends on where in the South you start from.
>drive through the allegedly easy-to-access Leningrad oblast of Russia
>allegedly easy-to-access
Bro you are 12 months too late, you are better off just use a ferry
Going through Russia is cool though. I'll double check the e-visa stuff
based
I'd avoid Belarus and russia tho. The border crossing between Poland and Belarus has just been closed and I don't see it being re-opened anytime soon. And Russia can mobilize foreigners now so yeah, you wouldn't want that.
>And Russia can mobilize foreigners
Source or GTFO
https://ru.usembassy.gov/travel-advisory-russia-do-not-travel-february-12-2023/
>Russia may refuse to acknowledge dual nationals’ U.S. citizenship, deny their access to U.S. consular assistance, subject them to mobilization, prevent their departure from Russia, and/or conscript them.
Bro Belarus and Russia would be the coolest parts of the trip, so if I wouldn't be able to go through there I might as well wait until the situation cools down
>highschool kid
>travels alone on a moped, hundreds of km/s from home
