Northeast is very dense so any metro areas feels like the big city compared to flyovers

Couldn’t tell you about in Boston, but outskirts of the greater metro are very clean and pretty, but the people suck. Very superficially nice, but gossipy and petty in a way that’d be regarded as unhinged levels of toxic. There’s a small town mentality even in the “cities”, people expect their neighbors to show up with a pie when they move in.
