Idk, the Balkans seems to have become the hip and trendy #undiscovered #solotraveler location ever since covid hit because they didn't cuck down like the rest of the world.

      Frick off we're full.

There's almost nothing hidden in the world nowadays. Much less in europe. But there are small cities without hordes of tourists even in Italy and France. But I would second the Balkans as a place still not that much touristic (for european standards), with roman ruins, some nice beaches (those are usually cramped), decent cities...

Albania has been trending in travel circles, but as somebody who is living in the capital right now I would advise against traveling to Albania without an explicit itinerary that primarily revolves around the nature. This country is NOT ready to accommodate casual travelers and I can’t even begin to imagine how much worse it would be for somebody who does not speak English or Italian. This place reminds me more of Southeast Asia than other parts of Europe.

Why? Will the government give you shit, or the mafia?

Because the nature is the only neat part about the country. You aren’t going to get to know the people well because they are busy with their own lives, and the cities are places where people live and work. There will be no great exchange of culture, like there can be in countries where people have stable and happy lives.

    Cities? Nature? Food?

Will you be able to drive or are you relying on public transport?
