What are the recommended Greek islands to visit? I was thinking I wanted to Travel to Chios this summer
>ruins & history
>beautiful towns
>amazing beaches and most of the island is farms & uninhabited hills & mountains
>seems obscure enough that it doesn't seem tourist trappy
I've never been to Greece though so idk if anyone thats seen a lot of it would have a better recommendation for me

went to crete last summer and absolutely loved it
has everything you want and while not at all obscure never seemed like a tourist trap
Below Chios is Ikaria and I highly recommend it. The island has a wealth of things to do and so many beautiful villages, but is not touristy like Thira and Mykonos. There is a overwhelming sense of authenticity, not only because there are no gypsies to shove flowers at you. Make sure to visit the Afianes Winery in Raches, by Armenistis on the north coast. Armenistis also has great surfing and food. On the south coast is Agios Kirykos, its biggest town. There's another town in the mountains I'll post the name of later when I remember it. It might just be another part of Raches. Overall 10/10.
I enjoyed Andros, but it's pretty much just locals.
Naxos is kind of a tourist trap, but I believe Paros is not as bad (yet)
>Naxos is kind of a tourist trap
I was told this was the non tourist trap option between Paros/Mykanos/Naxos. WTF I plan on going to Naxos for 2-3 days in May
Ithika. its amazing
Chios is great. Can recommend. Some great beaches, but also plenty of historical sites to visit. Indeed nice and quiet as well.
lesbos
amorgus
ios
andros
The Ionian Islands are very underrated.
Done them all, theyre the best places I have been to, theres a few touristy bits to dodge but the rest is incredible
I litrally want to live in Assos

whats stopping you?
Crete as a whole is nice. Lot’s of areas serviced by bus that is quite authentic. Recommend either Chania or Rethymno. Iraklio is not that special.
based, this is what i did
except i rented a car, much better to go to the odd location
heraklion is nice but but not much, only spent 1 day there and it was more than enough to visit Knossos, the archaeological museum, and the city centre
