I’ve only been to a few but I did go to the San Diego Zoo and found it very disappointing. The other zoo I’ve been to is the Detroit Zoo and I’ve also gone to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Busch Gardens Tampa if those count. Detroit Zoo has had its issues but it does have some exhibits that stand out (Penguins, Polar Bears, Kangaroos). San Diego had a large quantity of animals but they also had different varieties scattered about in cages and a surprising number of old exhibits. I was honestly quite bored. It was better than Detroit, don’t get me wrong. But it wasn’t what I was expecting. Disney and Busch don’t have as many animals and focus on African animals though Busch has more animals than Disney. You have to go on a popular safari ride with a long line to see many of them at Disney though.

Would you say San Diego Zoo was worth the money or not?
Also have you ever been to any SeaWorld?

It's probably worth the money, it's not that expensive. I just had high expectations because everybody said it was the best and we came out disappointed.
I've only been to SeaWorld in Orlando which I guess kinda counts as an aquarium. Most recent visit was less than a year ago. I like it. Saw everything except the penguins and the rescue show. The orca show is tame compared to years past but seeing those beautiful whales up close is amazing.

Unironically St. Louis has a great zoo and it's free
Vienna Zoo and Alpenzoo in Innsbruck (Austria in general have great zoos)
    Budapest Zoo
Audubon Zoo and Aquarium in New Orleans
That's all that comes to my memory

Anything else worth doing in St Louis?

Forest Park which has the Zoo also has the Missouri History Museum (free) and the Art Museum (I think you gotta pay on certain days). So the whole park is a days worth of material.
The Arch ($50) and the free museum at the bottom obviously
Laclede's Landing is the oldest street and it's right by the arch
The Aquarium at Union Station and the free light show that happens every night
Anheuser Busch brewery and the tours they offer. I gotta admit the beer garden and restaurant they have there is decent. You can get the St. Louis famous fried ravioli there.
Park Avenue Cafe right by Lafayette Park to get some gooey butter cake. It's a nice neighborhood
Tower Grove Park and the Botanical Gardens
        The Cahokia Mounds
Busch Stadium if you're into baseball history
        360 Rooftop Bar
        Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis
        Chess Museum
Honestly I loved visiting St. Louis. I know the city gets a lot of hate on here but there's a shitton to do as a SighSeeler and most of it is FREE. Can't beat that. Be warned that crime is bad in the North Part so avoid that area and all the homeless people congregate around Poelker Park by the Court Building so be wary. The rest of the sculpture gardens downtown are nice tho but have your wits about you at night. Daytime is safe in St. Louis. Also East St. Louis is a shithole but they have weed dispensaries

    Monterey bay aquarium -

World class, along with wildlife viewing from the boardwalk behind the facility. Not to mention it was in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Is Monterey Bay far enough away from San Francisco to avoid the homeless street-shitters and poxxed-up aids carriers?

Georigia Aquarium was great. Go to each dolphin show, they are each different.

I went to the Bronx zoo this week. Its free on Wednesdays, but $20 to see the star attractions like gorillas, well worth.

If in New Orleans, you can see the Giraffes upclose from the park surrounding the zoo, which I did serindiptously, and was a highlight.

There is a zoo in Colorado who's name escapes me where you can go up on a deck and hand feed giraffes lettuce.
Their fur was rough and their head was bony, but the tongue was extremely slimy and sticky.

Nothing. I hate everything. Elephants are bros, however, and they hate Black folk.

I liked the wildlife preserves in Africa that were huge swathes of land where animals could live mostly natural lives.

I really liked Monterey Bay aquarium. I was as into it at 28 as I was at age 8. I go there every few years when I visit my folks.

Safari West in Santa Rosa, California is a beautiful preserve and worth touring, Monterey Bay Aquarium is top notch as others have mentioned. Over in Asia the Taipei Zoo is absolutely massive and can take all day to explore with a huge variety of exhibits; easily accessible via MRT and 2 USD entry fee. Osaka is by far my favorite aquarium so far, phenomenal and immersive design.

Kusatsu Tropical Wonderland if you happen to be up there. For Tokyo area, Sumida Aquarium inside the Sky Tree mall is worth the detour as is Shinagawa Aquarium. You'll only see goldfish in the Art Aquarium within Ginza Mitsukoshi but it's still a neat space if you happen to be there.
