Texas doesn't even have the best BBQ kek
If you like Memphis style BBQ (pork instead of beef) this is a subjective opinion I will disagree on you with but can’t hate you for. If it’s North Carolina style you mean with that watery vinegar heavy sauce you call “barbecue sauce” then rope yourself
I would also like to add that Texas has some of the best beer. Where my fellow Shiner enjoyers who dunk on Coors and Bud fags?
I moved from the east coast and I live in southern California now. The Asian food here is amazing. You can get better Thai food here than in Thailand. But California has the absolute worst Pizza, the worst BBQ and worst seafood you'll ever eat. I've never found a single pizza that was even passable by east coast standards. I did find one single BBQ place an hour away in Azusa that was good, but it took 10 years and countless bad meals to find it.
I've given up looking for any restaurants in California unless they serve Thai, Vietnamese, Jap or Korean food.
The correct answer to the state with the best food is Maryland. I'll take a Maryland crab feast or a a Maryland Crabcake sandwich over any other meal.
>Vito's pizza in Santa Monica
🙂 Looks almost passable. Thx for the recommendation. I'm going to check it out. I'll return the favor. There is a place in DTLA called Pizzeria Bianco. It's been on my bucket list for a while. They have a legit pizza oven, handmade dough and sauce. People I trust from the east coast have said good things.

California has the best in America. You can get some of the best of every culture in socal. Nowhere else in America has that quality of Asian and Pacific islander food, even Hawaii
You must be from California or you would know better. I love Korean and Jap BBQ. But American BBQ is a whole other category of food. LA and OC both have strict rules about smoking meats unless you use a really expensive scrubber system to clean the air, so almost no one smokes meat out here. It's rare to see any California restaurants using a charcoal grill unless it's for a festival.
If you go to Vegas, you can go to Hachi or Viet Noodle House and they cook everything on bamboo charcoal. Or you can go into San Bernadino or Riverside Counties and find a few places that cook real American BBQ. But you won't find it in LA, OC, San Fran, or Marin county.
No one considers Riverside or San Bernadino to be part of southern California. Socal is LA, OC and San Diego. Also, you sound like a asiatic with autism.

Dallas has it all. Fancy and upscale steakhouses, dirty hole-in-the-wall burger joints that probably violate health code but serve the best greasy burgers, the best ramen I’ve had worldwide at a place called Ten in downtown owned as a side project by some famous Japanese boomer chef, a KILLER pizza place called Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, amazing TexMex anywhere you go and not only that but you can get real authentic Mexican Mexican food without looking hard, good Louisiana style Cajun Hispanicy shit is served at places that will dump huge baskets of crawfish in you, seafood might be lacking by comparison but Lovers Lane Seafood Market and restaurant I really enjoy and it’s not like fresh fish can’t be caught nearby, and I don’t have much of a sweet tooth or pastry craving but I bet you can find good ice cream or cake shops or whatever. Plenty of good local fried chicken places that take the difference between Chick Fil A and McDonald’s but multiply that factor by 100. The reason why California has a lot of bad restaurants is because every cook is from South America. What does some beaner from Guatemala know about Memphis BBQ?
It clearly isn't Utah. Food here is total garbage. Not a single decent restaurant besides a steak house. Mormon culture, like their food, is bland and boring.
I was given a "mormon cookbook" and it was literally all white bread and other carbs and canned ingredients dumped together and baked. Shit meant to feed a family of 9 on a tight budget.
> Best Italian > Best seafood > Decent sushi > Ok bbq, but you really gotta look for it > Ok tex mex > Great Vietnamese > Good Thai > Great Indian > Decent middle eastern/Mediterranean > Great Brazilian
Depends on what you want to get. Asian food? California. Mexican and BBQ? Texas. Cajun food? Louisiana hands down. If you want to go with overall options then obviously New York because of NYC.
I wasn't defending the OC. I'm in LA and never go to OC for food. I actually can't think of a single place ive been to in OC that I'd be itching to go back to, but I'm normally with boomer parents or at disneyland while I'm down there.
Like others have said, the food in OC isn't great overall unless you want Asian. If you're into Asian food, it would be impossible to get a bad meal at Tsuruhashi in Huntington Beach. Go look at the photos on Yelp. That place is god tier. We had friends from Japan come stay with us and they said it was as good as the best places they had back home.
It has to be Texas, and I say it as a Floridian. The BBQ is world class. Plenty of beaners still know how to make a mean fucking taco. Ever been to the Texas State Fair? They make some absolute monstrosities for carnival food but holy fucking shit is it delicious. I can't go this year because I'm mongering during that month, but if you haven't been, it's worth it if you're a cringe "foodie".

I'm going to bed ESL bro, we can continue this tomorrow. Take care and God bless Texas.
>Dallas has the best food in America
Imagine being this naive. Not only do you have no experience with America, you're a little boy who knows nothing of your state. Lockhart with 14,000 people has better food than Dallas. Sleep tight zoomer, I know it's 9pm in Texas and mommy is putting you to bed
There’s like 5 Texans in this thread and none of you are consistently replying to the right posts. Yeehaw
Both me btw
Imagine being this wrong. What are you going to say, San Antonio has better Mexican? Houston has a lot of good authentic Vietnamese? Dallas has all the Texas staples as well as good variety. I would say Austin personally but there is very good food all across the DFW metroplex. I say this as a non-native who is in Texas frequently for work
>Dallas has acceptable places to eat in it's sprawl
Wow what a glowing review in a thread about the best food in America
I can't imagine writing something like this out to try and impress anonymous people kek.
Please post more bro, you made me laugh. NO TEXAS WOULD SAY BEST FOOD IT TEXAS. lmao
Idiot grammar and wrong. Unlike most people I’m not a California escapist. I was born in shitty ass fucking Midland. And I’ll reiterate: DFW has the best food in this state. Sorry, correction - the country. Maybe the whole damn world
California or NY.
For me it's New Mexico. I fucking love southwestern cuisine
The reason why California has a lot of bad restaurants is because every cook is from South America. What does some beaner from Guatemala know about Memphis BBQ?
>What does some beaner from Guatemala know about Memphis BBQ?
It clearly isn't Utah. Food here is total garbage. Not a single decent restaurant besides a steak house. Mormon culture, like their food, is bland and boring.
I was given a "mormon cookbook" and it was literally all white bread and other carbs and canned ingredients dumped together and baked. Shit meant to feed a family of 9 on a tight budget.
Louisiana is a good choice but it's probably SOCAL
Massachusetts
> Best Italian
> Best seafood
> Decent sushi
> Ok bbq, but you really gotta look for it
> Ok tex mex
> Great Vietnamese
> Good Thai
> Great Indian
> Decent middle eastern/Mediterranean
> Great Brazilian
You should take a trip to Houston. Unironically the best food scene in the country.
Michigan by a wide margin. Gotta love those ham sandwiches. If you're feeling a little crazy, you can Hispanice it up with some mayonnaise.
Sides officially in orbit thanks
Depends on what you want to get. Asian food? California. Mexican and BBQ? Texas. Cajun food? Louisiana hands down. If you want to go with overall options then obviously New York because of NYC.
Correct.
It's not, it's easily New Jersey by a long shot.
