People just can't see the wood for the trees. Every nation gets their specific psyop but you see it for what it really is when you go to a different country where you haven't been shilled it's got no culture, was always brown, has a particular moral compulsion to apologize etc. So you accept living in the UK and everyone is brown but when you go to Ireland, Norway etc and there are non-whites there you immediately see it as a shame and unnatural.

                This is insanely fricking true.

I grew up in London. Maybe 80% of the people I grew up with were first gen immigrants, usually from Zimbabwe/Somalia/Pakistan/India etc.

I’d go to Ireland every year to see family and I’d feel so much more relieved and at home whilst there. I could never understand why even in the slightest when I was younger.

I quickly came to realise it’s because there’s a genuine sense of social togetherness there, culturally and ethnically. I could understand people and they could understand me in nearly every aspect, without a frick load of cultural barriers and norms being held up between us.

Being in London, when I see gangs of black kids, I get it. I’m used to it. When I’m in Ireland however even today, it creates this weird weird feeling in me honestly. It’s like I’ve accepted the reality of the UK, Ireland was just 30 years late to the party.

The absolute worst thing about the UK is it’s immigrant communities. Hands down. I’m saying this as someone who has many many immigrant friends. Seeing Ireland going down the same route is very sad but they’ll never admit it.

The Chester Beatty Library is a really cool museum in my opinion. It was basically this guys private collection who started with stamps and became crazy rich off his ability to collect and sell. It has different sections for different religions which is interesting.

The Hugh Lane Gallery has Francis Bacon's studio. He is a painter famous for his demented and dark depictions. He lived a drunken life of absolutely degeneracy and the state of his studio reflects that. They catalogued the entire studio in the most minute detail, took it apart and then reassembled it exactly as it was.

Dublin has incredible Botanical Gardens even by international standards. Huge tropical greenhouses.

If you are interested in WB Yeats the National Museum has an excellent permanent exhibition about him. Not a huge fan personally but it's very well done in its presentation.

The National Art Gallery has a Carravagio: The Taking of Christ.

There is a really cool Harry Potter looking Marsh's Library. It is a preserved library that looks like the kind of Alchemists would have used and is full of wacky books on things like that and demonology etc.

Be super polite and people will be a lot nicer and helpful to you. This is very important in Ireland. People from certain countries like in Eastern Europe or The Netherlands are much more direct and use Sorry, Please and Thank You less. We also ask for things in the most indirect non aggressive way possible. E.g "I'm really sorry would it be possible for you to...." Whereas in Ireland this can come across as rude and aggressive....

Dublin's greatest attraction is it's night life. You can go to Temple Bar to meet other foreigners and get ripped off or go to one of the myriad of bars locals go to. If you are a fun person you will meet lots of people. Maybe sign up for a pub crawl.

The Irish are generally good drinkers in my experience violence is much more unpredictable than in Western Europe or America. If someone is acting aggressive in a bar just get away from them. Don't wait for more signs they are going to get physically. What's more; although Dublin is pretty safe there is a youth crime problem. Gangs of sketchy looking teens are to be avoided at all costs. Don't engage them in conversation if they talk to you and don't make eye contact. They are unlikely to attach but when they do it is for no reason and therefore unpredictable. This is different from other countries where crime is because some wants to rob you etc.

If you are a Yank be aware that no one wants to know about your job or where you went to school etc. . It's considered very boring here as is saying things that reveal your social class or generally demonstrate healthy self esteem.

Howth. But bro, be careful, Dublin is a very sketchy city, there's basically no police and seeing groups of teens with hammers and knives is not uncommon. Keep your eyes open in city center. Also keep in mind that even if you are going to get beaten up by a group of kids, Irish police will do exactly NOTHING. There's also shitloads of bums that are very emboldened by lack of police action, so don't be surprised if you get hassled. Dublin in general is a weirdo central, you will run into real characters, but don't engage them for the sake of your own sanity and safety. Most Irish think they're the next HW champion of boxing after a few drinks, so keep your eyes open.

I recommend going to Howth or taking dart down to Bray to do the Greystones walk. If you want to drink, there's the pubs, maybe avoid Temple Bar as it is very soulless and touristic. I recommend taking a walk along Liffey till the Custom's house.
National Gallery is a great museum that is entirely free. There's also the archeological museum with very cool prehistoric stuff and Medieval art.

I don't think anyone would be against hiring Mercs to round them up over a 6 month period and clean up the country of them, so long as it was kept down low.

But no, we cant. Tbh if a junkie was ever decked by a civilian for once, I can imagine most people either letting him die or start joining in.

Honestly Belfast is so much better than Dublin it's unreal. Every second pub has acoustic folk music for that atmosphere, people are way friendlier, cheaper, way less homeless, way fewer non-whites.

Anyone wanting the """irish""" experience should visit Belfast instead. Do the Gaol, do the titanic meme museum, then if you want to Giant's causeway, port stewart. If not enough time for that just do a little walk up Cave Hill or go to the mournes for a beautiful hike. There is ZERO reason to visit the republic.

Dun Laighoire or however those morons spell it is fun when the sailing competitions are going. I recall vaguely enjoying seeing the arran islands but i can't recall a single actual thing about them.

The only reason to go to Dublin is if you like blacks, the risk of being raped by blacks, being hassled by homeless and spending 12 euros a pint. Oh and kildare village is decent shopping.

Crazy stuff, they should bring back hangings for these kinds of crimes. I didn't see many blacks when living in Dublin though, which area did this happen in? On North side it was mostly the local chavs you had to be worried about. Where I lived they were handing out flyers saying there's a very large increase of teenage violence, so basically saying to parents to not let their kids get mixed up with the local bunch if they know any better.

I've never lived in Dublin but I've been plenty and my experience is there are tonnes of non whites and particularly blacks. Years ago when i went there were dystopian posters everywhere that were just black faces with the words "I am a Dubliner" or maybe Irishman, can't recall exactly which. That time i stayed in sandymount but all that stuff was in town itself.

Recently I went to Cork, Schull etc for the first time in over a decade and was really saddened to see a fair few blacks there. I honestly think it's far more of a shame than the arab takeover of yorkshire and will probably cause more damage.

The millennial generation in the republic is basically just overcompensating for the devout Catholicism of their grandparents. Northerners (as in catholic Northern Irish) tend to be less hostile to the RC church as they still understand it as part of their national identity that separates them from their hated Protestant/Unionist enemies. Though they do also pay lip service to LGBT/refugees causes to try “own the prods” since the DUP is so socially conservative. The latter cause risks being self-defeating, since mass migration to NI is basically the only thing that could prevent Catholics from becoming the majority of the population and voting for reunification.
