I have about a month before my house is made to go on the market. I have no choice in the matter, someone else is executing a will.
I currently live in Washington state, and the housing market is absolutely screwed. I don't make much money either, I'm just starting an entry-level remote job part-time. Where in the country should I go, if I can't get something cheap in Seattle?
I don't need much in terms of an apartment, just something. I don't plan to go out much. The less I need to go out the better.
I will only be there for about a year and a half. After that I will be moving to Spain to unite with a loved one.

Oh, I forgot. My budget is maximum $1,000 a month. I'd prefer to not be spending that kind of money because that'd be basically all I earn, but if I have to work for subsistence for a few months so be it.
I moved to Haines City Florida in March of 2020. Our house was built for us from the ground up and is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath single story ranch style and our mortgage is slightly over 1k a month. I imagine you could get one with fewer bedrooms for less than 1k, though since time is of the essence you'd have to buy a pre-built one.
69% black and brown......yikes
>Named after a racist
>POC folks have taken it over
Frick around and find out.
Racism is a meaningless buzzword.
I'm sure the town will go to shit now that browns are a majority but what can you expect from "people" who are content to live piles of their own excrement.
>Racism is a buzzword
>proceeds to be a racist shitheel
ngmi
you have to go back
Actually that’s prejudice. Not that you’d know what words mean being an idiot that follows trends and doesn’t pay attention.
No that's pattern recognition. Not that you’d know what words mean being an elementary school moron who only parrots what the teacher/college moron says.
1 dollar detroit crack houses
Alaska
They'll even pay you money to be there
Is that true for white people or just so-called minorities?
It's for everybody.
I've heard other NEETs be like "Imma move to Alaska and get even more free money" not realizing its a couple thousand a year and you will blow it just on airfare alone if you ever want to visit the lower 48 again not to mention the high price of everything there.
So would it work for OP who only wants to stay for 1.5 years and may not go back to the lower 48 in the meantime?
Maybe. One of the caveats of the permanent fund is that you have to live there for a full year beginning on January 1 through December 31 to receive it the following year. So if OP moves to Alaska in Feb. 2023 and leaves September 2024 he will not get the payment. If he moved there today though he'd get it in 2024.
Fort Smith, Arkansas. Find a suburb that doesn't look too druggy. There's not a whole lot going on there but it's cheap, and the people are friendly. Nice forests if you like that.
Why would you tell OP to go down to the Fort when actual NWA is an hour away?
Here you go: https://www.trulia.com/c/ar/fayetteville/1-bed-555-sqft-650-1219-n-storer-ave-fayetteville-ar-72703--2357468946
Richmond, Indiana as well. Blacks are starting to move there but it's still reasonable. Just scout out any apartment you want to move into. Look for pimped out rims and tint. Not much nature but a pretty substantial bike trail starts there. A lot of decent folk around there as well.
Both cities are about 9% black. obviously in the cheapest apartments you'll meet them. Maybe somewhere cold like Grand Forks, ND but it's miserable there. Don't go to Alaska if you want to live cheaply
find someplace in buttcrack maine, new hampshire, vermont or wisconsin. safe, mostly uninhabited, relatively cheap if you're in an undesirable area. there are plenty of sub 700$ apartments, even in very scenic areas adjacent to door county wisconsin
Hahah. and here I am about to buy in Seattle because the market is crashing and everything available now is way better than the past year at easily 30% off.
If you're making less than 100k in Seattle, remote, you're doing it wrong. I showed up, grabbed a remote job at 220K and even I don't stay in the area, I do the SighSee cooming thing abroad - but do need a home base to rent out on the airbnbs.
But since you're going to Spain and I'm Spanish I'll help you a bit -
for a year and a half, don't buy shit - rent.
You can fix your way into Seattle MFTE rent easily peasy, all programs do not check if your reported income is accurate, they can *not* contact ESD.
So, you can stay in your home city, pay sub $1000 rent, and then bounce out and not pay your rent. There is tons of demand for MFTE properties, so you can bounce your lease and not worry that they'd come after you - after all you don't have much income and they will get someone else to pay.
Otherwise outside Seattle, well Chicago is nice, but winter is bad for a SEattalite that isn't used to real snow woutside city limits. Black people in downtown so only go north loop.
Cali is more depraved than WA.
AZ is where poor seattlites go to retire, nothing there.
NYC can be nice, but, you're a shut in so a waste.
FL is not good for you either.
Arkansas/NE can be good and cheap with an okay airport. Rent is $800 for a 1BR, but seattle MFTE program probably is better for you anon.
God speed on your Spanish women, pretty rare for a Seattlite to enjoy Spain much.
Actually, re-reading that you make $1000 or so a month, you probably, actually, uniroincally do qualify for subsidized housing in WA.
Say you're part indian or black, or whatnot, they do that that seriously in application consideration.
And don't rent downtown, only north.
OP here, I'm not actually a Seattlite. I'm Centralian, 90 miles south of Seattle.
>If you're making less than 100k in Seattle, remote, you're doing it wrong.
I'm also quite unskilled and young. This job is not a well-paying one, just 15 an hour for 20 a week right now. But at the same time it's my first job, no education or experience required, and I sure as hell can't drive, so I'm not going to be picky about it. I've been looking for one for months. I doubt I'd ever land that kind of sick-ass pay to be honest. How even?
>For a year and a half, don't buy shit - rent.
No intention to buy anything in the interim. Saving that money to buy a home in Spain, or at least damn big down payment that'll net me an easy 100-a-month mortgage according to that loved one.
>You probably, actually, uniroincally do qualify for subsidized housing in WA.
Over here all subsidized housing is under really nasty waiting lists (2 years long or so). I'll check Seattle's though, you might've really helped me here. I'll stay north as you suggest.
>God speed on your Spanish women
Thank you, I'm lucky to have her. We'll remember you, Spanish anon.
>how even?
You're a native american trans, who took a coding boot camp and want to do PR and do DEI shit at a company. You switch your linkedin location to Seattle and make a good background, customer solutions, sales, etc.
Try, try try. DEI shit helps.
>Buy house in spain
lol ok anon. I don't wanna burst your dreams, but ok.
Subsidized housing in Seattle is really easy, provided you have a shit job, some paystubs, willinginess to say your background identity is diverse and there you go.
The application is self reported, there's even a spreadsheet you can find on the seattle.gov website that property managers are supposed to use to qualify you *and* it states they can not contact ESD to verify income.
Here's a spreadsheet of all the MFTE housing in Seattle - https://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/Housing/HousingDevelopers/MultifamilyTaxExemption/MFTEParticipantContact.pdf I'd spend a good few hours, mapping the places out, and anything north of downtown is good. Aurora corridor can be shit if you're right near it but a quarter/half mile west/east from 99/Aurora is acceptable.
It won't be perfect, but you don't have to do much outside of move to Seattle and experience the amazzzzing emeralllldddddd city as you count down the days of gloom and no sun as you harden your soul to escape to sunny Spain.

I'm honestly intrigued how it isn't abused too much.
>Coding boot camp
Funny you say that, GF is a coder actually. Guess if I want a higher lot in life she could help me learn. Better than putting square blocks to square holes. See if it'll happen within the time allotted.
>I don't wanna burst your dreams
I'm not going to Madrid or anything. Found some houses around 60-80k, that'd be easy for me to handle given I don't burn what I gain from this sale.
Thanks for the resources, I'll check them out.
1. Buy a used 5th wheel/camper/RV
2. Lrn2drive
3. Dollar general shopping and truck stop showers for food and hygiene
4. Shit be bussin yo fr no cap homie
5. ???
No camper/RV, OP has to do the DEI thing and convert, consume and be happy to be transssssssssss
DIVERSITY
STRENGTH
SEATTLE
Ideally, op I wouldn't get a place less than 300sq ft, 600 is barely tolerable I just was browsing the list and the marketing of this DEI crap is hilariously sad.
imagine the smell
This is easy, anon. Actually, you're lucky - with no urban or outdoor needs you can live in the cheapest part of the country. Anywhere in this region will be ideal for you. North Dakota and South Dakota if you like the cold, Nebraska and Kansas if you like standard 3-month seasons, and Oklahoma and Texas if you like the heat.
I know someone that is staying the next few months in Cedar City, Utah. Apparently there is some great outdoor activities nearby like big national parks. If you're looking for quiet midwestern cities not overrun by blacks, try Lincoln or Omaha (which actually has a really nice art museum).
I'm in a similar spot as well. On my end: A poorgay, introverted, hermit NEET sperg living on AutismBuxx and in northwestern washington.
Now that my stomping grounds have disintegrated into big tech pozz, neoliberalism pretending to be countercultural, moronic Californian dudebro clout chasers, troony transtrender degenerates and the like - alongside the absurdly high CoL - I want out at this rate.
Any suggestions on best places for me to move into?
I'd tell you but you'd be like wah wah wah it doesn't have whatever and cry like a b***h
sounds about right - you are clearly some kind of oracle
