Whats Finland like as a place to live?

>no types of firearms are outright banned, and in principle a person can apply for a licence for any type of gun.
>snowy so no fricking fly’s or wasps
>picrel is some random fins blowing up a tesla

Only thing it’s missing is legalising drugs (not just some homosexualy ass weed but cocaine, dmt, shrooms and heroin) and it’s perfect… what’s the catch (other than the no drugs shit)?

You know those all those American movies with vigilante superheros, "good guys with guns" and law-giving cowboys fighting vs the bad Indians(that was mostly before the Spaghetti Western epoch though, but the perception those Westerns created still lingers)?

Those aren't just movies for white Americans and those who wish to be white-adjacent. They really do believe guns are magical devices that bring law and order and allow you to "protect your family". When in point of fact the real threat is already inside your house and called your family. So by buying a gun your more likely to get killed -- BY THEM, your family. Or you or a family member when they are depressed instead of ignoring the suicidal urge because it would take planning. Now since they have a murder device handy and don't need to plan much the chances of one of your family members offing themselves increases.

Anyway Finland is cold as shit, winters are too long, it is depressing and full of too many alcoholics. This idiot American probably thinks it is some "muh white PAraddise".

People were writing Iliad while Finns were still stuck in cave's eating maami or whatever the frick is peak of your cuisine. No one but autists think highly of that country. Most people would rather shoot themselves dead at the mere suggestion of having to live there. I'm sorry but there's not one work of great art or scientific contribution from Finland. Not outright banning firearms does not mean you can just waltz in and buy one. Few people here own guns because it's a massive hassle to get one and only worth it if you are into the few legal gun hobbies. Using one in self defence is almost certain one way ticket into the slammer regardless of the circumstance. In fact defending yourself and especially your property here is asking for trouble. Cops are chronically underfunded and theft and burglaries are often not investigated nor prosecuted even if you go Scooby-Doo and find the perp yourself.

    Finn here
You actually need a reason to own a gun here and getting permits is a hassle. Also even then it’s not like you can legally use your gun for anything other than the hobby. The reason why we have such little firearm crime is cause it’s difficult to get/own guns.

There are FRICKLOADS of mosquitoes and such in the summer, especially in the north. Cities and suburbs are fine however. Also we really do have snow only in the winter.

Also good luck with drug legalizing drugs here. We’re always the last ones on legalizing stuff and first ones to illegalize them. Fins love their rules and regulations.

Why in the frick is owning firearms such a fricking fringe thing for countries to allow? Even in America it’s damn near impossible to own a rifle without getting your dog shot because the barrel was 0,001 inches too short or some over dumb bullshit… even if your not into rifles why tf can’t I be allowed to defend myself from robbers or getting mugged? Like many others have said, no type of gun being explicitly banned doesn't mean that it's easy (or even possible) to get a license unless you do hunting or sport shooting. I don't know where you got the idea that Finland is a gun-friendly country, some very rudimentary research would tell you otherwise. The number of European countries that allow cc can be counted on two hands, and Finland is not one of them.

While the winters are cold and snow-free, (at least in inland areas) summers are hell because of all the lakes that make for a disgusting amount of mosquitoes. I live in Sweden and it's the same situation here, except Finnish winters are colder.

If you think you'd like a dark, cold, cucked, unfree, expensive shithole then you'd love Finland. The only good things about Nordic countries is the reasonably good infrastructure and the great English proficiency.

self defense is a natural right
it is not granted by a state
the state is the one that takes it away as a form of oppression and control
complaining that other men are able to defend themselves on equal footing with possibly assailents, or resist tyranny more effectively, is just a cope
