Is that really enough money to retire?

Guessing the money will be invested, perhaps along with side incomes from online ventures. Geo-arbitrage in itself should double the value of that. Nobody is going to sit around for 20 years and do nothing but its one hell of a headstart in a place like south-east asia or the balkans.

It'll last like 5 years and then he'll have an embarrassing gap in his resume
If I were him I'd do a bachelor's (or if you have that, a master's) in computer science in Spain and drown in pussy until it's time to move on (and then just get a remote job if you want to stay)
Spain is a lot cheaper than you might think, you can pay 700 dollarydoos a month for rent in a world-class city, women are beautiful, if you're in Madrid the only minorities are hardworking latinos who contribute to the local dating scene (BCN does have arabs and pajeets)
And then of course there's gypsy scum but if you're street smart they shouldn't be a problem
The benefit of getting a degree, aside from being able to account for your time, is that it's an easy way to meet friends and especially women, which is ultimately what will make you happy in life
If the idea of studying puts you off, just do a meme degree like international relations and you'll be essentially a neet while meeting tons of attractive young women through your classes

Thx anon. I have a MSc in finance. Currently working as a product owner at a large bank in a scandinavian capital. Getting really tired of the lifestyle and the woke corporate zombie fandango.

Chiang Mai, Thailand. Great atmosphere in the evenings. People are friendly. Its cheap. Do yoga, thaiboxing during the day, work a couple of hours over the web from one of many digital nomad coffee clubs and digital co-working studios. Build a network of nomads and locals. Dont forget to take regular massages. Strike a conversation with tourists and offer to show them around. Frick the pretty ones :p

invest the money in treasury bills, notes, bonds, TIPS and dividend kings for a steady return of around 3% per annum. Thats 7500 euros per year which will cover all our basic expenses. Those 250.000 should work for you 24/7. Enjoy life on easy mode.

I mean its not like you had to work particularly hard for that crypto... the next big thing will come along and you will cash in again.

What I'm trying to get at is, hookers, a sports car, cocaine, and a loud ass stereo system. What else do you need

I only did like 25% profit. Came in quite late and got out before it all crashed. I worked pretty fricking hard for those 200k though. Not looking to waste them easily. I want them to last, and i want to enjoy life without working my ass off like i used to...

You might still consider doing another master’s, or just neet and do a sabbatical while learning to code and start applying to jobs in a few months
It’s just not sustainable to neet indefinitely as a young man
It’s hard enough getting old, it’s even worse when you’re a middle aged man and don’t have a pot to piss in
A lot of code monkey jobs are very low maintenance, you can write for 3 hours in your underwear and then frick off and have the rest of the day to yourself

Could you expand on this? I'm not OP but someone who's about to start their coding sabbatical. Would appreciate it if you could suggest what languages are worth looking into, as well as where to find work (Upwork seems flooded with poos)

I think Python or JavaScript might be worth looking into, at least that's what I've been told.

    >want the money to last like 20 years
wtf are you going to do after that?

I don't think it's enough to fully retire, but you could try to move your career into doing some half-ass remote consulting/contracting work or if that's not possible just get a fun easy job involving one of your hobbies
