Where in the US would be most suitable for me to live based off these criteria?

Where in the US would be most suitable for me to live based off these criteria? For reference I'm late 20s and make just over 6 figs remote.

In descending order of importance

>near beautiful outdoors, either forests or nice rocks with good hiking/mountain biking trails
>good weather, not an insane amount of snow, sunny throughout the year
>isn't at risk of running out of water, a nearby river is ideal
>low average age
>affordable
>friendly people
>low crime
>not an insane amount of traffic, ideally bike friendly
>not a big city but not a complete hick town
>within an hour and a half of ski resorts
>near major airport
>good art scene

Pic related, I was considering Sedona because of its outstanding beauty but it is full of retirees and is extremely expensive.

Don't they have a pretty bad water crisis?

Most places are starting to realize selling water to Vegas is a lost cause during covid, so not really. Hell Arizona stopped and is having their stocks almost fully replenished now.

The only places and people having issues with water are unironically DUDE WEED farms, as those cash crops use a fuckton of water and offer very little return in useful material.

I live in Salt Lake City. There’s talk about the lake being low, but we’re in the middle of record snow pack, so we’ll be fine for the foreseeable future.

I live downtown, make about the same money as you. Housing is getting expensive. I’m stuck renting a house for a few more years before I can buy.

It’s clean, safe, and has absolutely beautiful outdoor options.

I’m going to dump a few SLC photos I took in the last few months.

This is the West Desert. It’s south of the Great Salt Lake. It has some cool areas, wild horses, camping, and lots of dirt biking and atv trails. It’s about an hour drive southwest from downtown.

This is on Antelope Island, which is a mountain on the Great Salt Lake. It’s cool, and has Buffalo. It’s maybe an hour and a half north of SLC.

Water crisis is a meme. Everything goes in cycles. All the panic over record low lakes and reservoirs is gone now because they're all full.

SLC is good, although not bike friendly and art scene is ass. Boise fits your criteria pretty well, very friendly from my experience

Salt lake city will be find with drinking water but the actual lake is going to dry up.

SLC has shitty air and tons of cali morons and Hispanics moving in. Also the LDS gayry controlling everything. Utahn's are good at putting on a front acting nice to you but will talk shit behind your back especially if you aren't "part of the club". Plus housing is way overpriced.

Western South Dakota except the nearest major airport is Denver. Much more affordable than Colorado.
Also depends on your definition of insane amount of snow and good weather. It's sunny though and warmer than you would think.
      Or, Santa Fe/Taos area.

      >Western South Dakota
I've been meaning to check it out. How's the Rapid City area near the Black Hills NF? I wonder if it would be worth it to live on the Wyoming side near Devils Tower for better resident hunting. It still gets snow so maybe OP wouldn't like it.

Denver does not have friendly people. Denver is a magnet for vapid Subaru driving cunts from California and Texas who think they're a big fucking deal

      >Denver is a magnet for vapid Subaru driving cunts from California and Texas who think they're a big fucking deal
Yup, drivers in the Ft Collins/Denver area are one of the worst in the country. Aggressive driving, tailgating, swerving lanes. Just insanity.

Based on your criteria, the east coast, midwest, north, and northwest is out based on the weather. There are no actual ski resorts in Texas, so that's out.
You're left with California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah,

Nevada has a crime problem. 60 percent of the state lives around vegas, and the crime is pretty bad and getting worse every year. They're on pace for the most murders ever recorded for 2023. And it's not a friendly city. And the weather is miserably hot for 6 months out of the year. Don't move to vegas.

Arizona, Phoenix is great in the winter, spring and fall. But it's hell on earth from june-september.

Parts of Utah have good weather. You'd have great hiking, tons of ski resorts. It's fairly affordable. Some of the best bike trails in the world are in Utah. Moab is insane for biking. And the crime is generally very low in Utah with the exception of a couple neighborhoods in Salt Lake City.

Coastal Southern California has everything on your list with the exception of affordability.

If you're on a budget, I'd look at Utah.

Anybody have any reviews on Carson City, NV. Seems alright and close to Lake Tahoe.

I'm from Louisiana. To obtain large amounts of money from my job, moved to Washington State (1.5 hrs west of Seattle).
Love the outdoors, love the 4 months of great weather here, hate the cold wet winters (but could tolerate dryer cold winters).
But hate the people here. They are all passive aggressive and quite possibly the laziest people I've ever encountered.
Where can I move where I get good outdoors and people who are generally pleasant and like to work hard?
I've been heavily considering Idaho, Montana, Utah, or Wyoming.

    Portland Maine
    >near outdoors
    >has skiing within an hour of the city
    >tons of water
    >not super expensive
    >one of if not the whitest state in america so low crime and good people
    >not super populous so traffic isnt bad, you can definitely bike around the city too
Art scene isn't there, and the airport isn't major but you're not too far from boston which IS a major international airport. Winter is pretty cold too, but seafood galore.
