Why are 'scams' so popular in Europe?

Why are 'scams' so popular in Europe? Whether it be local businesses or people on the street or pickpockets this seems to be a uniquely European problem. I'm a Brit and have literally never encountered anything like this in the UK or the US.

have you ever even been outside of Europe and the US? lol go to Bogotá as a blond guy and see how you're treated. Honestly, I've never even had a problem in Europe outside of those gypsy grandmas in Spain and Italy

Gypsies are only part of the problem, you can get ripped off anywhere.
Knowing the prices ahead of going somewhere will prevent 95% of scams.

Black people scam euros and America with "asylum" and "welfare". Paris loves them. Btw is there anywhere in Paris I can go to see white parisians only? Also I’m trans.

Pickpockets are absolutely a thing in the UK. You don't get targeted because you don't look like a tourist and you don't carry a handbag.

Scams are absolutely a thing though, flower ladies, Roma who take their drugged up babies on Tube trains to beg

The met police are less neutered than people think. Especially on crimes that shit up public spaces and drive away tourists

People saying "gypsies" like you don't go to NYC and see blacks doing the same thing.
    Scams are everywhere.

Urban blacks and gypsies have different operating modes, you need to be aware of both.

Man if you think this is uniquely European, never go to Egypt. That entire country is in on the scam.

    >why are scams popular in Europe?
Gypsies, North Africans and tourism hot spots.
    >It's a uniquely european problem
I've seen three card monty in NYC, wtf are you talking about? Also, go to south america and find out how wrong you are. Same thing in Thailand with some ladyboy prostitutes threatening to blackmail you. Istanbul club scams are a thing, same with the belarusian ladder scam.

Hell, there's an entire show called Scam City about the various scams in cities throughout the world.
