I don't get it, some of me and my lads were looking into booking a winter holiday somewhere warm and we are looking at and america came up in conversation. I just laughed and said thailand is better.

Been on the road in the US for the last month. As well as seeing friends and following up some niche interests:

    >Western culture and English language makes connecting with people more straightforward
    >large contiguous country so no frickery with visas needed for long distance travel
    >nature
    >seeing the crumbling empire
    >digging the legitimate history that played a huge part in creating current world culture

But the people need to find a way to stop bringing up politics at every opportunity.

As an American, I would say the only places worth visiting in the USA would be

    Texas
    California
    Hawaii
    New York
    Florida

    Maybe New England

    Everywhere else is pointless

The fact you didn't even mention the Grand Canyon, Zion, or Yosemite is a great shame. America's national parks are one of its best assets.

States seems like it has high quality SighSee destinations if that's your thing.
None of the cities ever really seemed that appealing. I'd go to enjoy some oversized meal portions and drink heavily, that's about it.

      >takes hours by plane
      never traveled before?
      >rude people
lolno, what foreigners say most is how shocked they are at how friendly and outgoing americans are compared to their own countries. Even midwest and southern flyovers are well known for their hospitality.
      >shitty beer
implying you've had even 2% of the tons of domestics available. even if you have, lmao at disregarding whiskey and plymouth style gin, or california wines
      >prostitution illegal
Nevada has legal brothels, escorts are still a thing too
      >high cost of food
for greens, yeah, but you can make a lot of stuff for cheap if you're not moronic and know how to shop. Restaurants also give you massive portions, easily justifying the higher costs of going out (euros never figured out our appetizers were meant to either be shared or had as a full dish for one)
      >history is too young
but there's so much of it you can't visit the hotspots in a single vacation, even if it's just colonial history.
      >have to get a car to see anything
How awful, you get to actually drive and go wherever you want instead of praying a bus and train will take you where you want to go
      >unsafe with guns
stay away from blacks and gun crime rates are europe tier

      >doesn't bring up AZ SighSee
      >doesn't bring up Utah's SLC and SighSee
      >ignores CO entirely

      >disregarding music scene in Nashville
      >disregarding food/wienertails in New Orleans
      >disregarding thrill rides for coastergays in multiple states with theme parks
      >disregarding all the historical tourism available
      >didn't include Vegas at all

    >6 hours by plane at least
There's places like Japan or SEA that are farther still
    >rude people
Depends greatly where you go, sorry if you stayed in NYC
    >girls for hire illegal
Frick off coomer. Also it's not as if it's impossible to find regardless
    >cheaper to eat unhealthy mcdonalds
Same case everywhere, it's cheap food
    >"history"
Wow, a younger country has less history than older ones? Also what's wrong with your history being the free market? Many European histories are intertwined with it.
    >cars
It's a big country you know, and train lines are hard to build across mountains and unsuitable terrain
    >guns
    Scared?

    >takes 6 hours by plane at least
    Depends where you're coming from
    >rude people
Not always, depends where you are. Cities are often more welcoming to foreigners.
    >shitty beer
There's plenty of good domestic beer if you bother to look around. There's plenty of imports, too, probably even the ones you like.
    >girls for hire is illegal
Explicitly for prostitution, yes, except for Nevada. Also, you can hire women as "escorts" and still do just fine as long as you don't show clear intent to pay for sexual favors
    >cheaper to eat unhealthy mcdonalds than it is to cook in home
Not if you know how to cook.
    >"history" is only 200 years old mostly capitalism
US History in particular yes, it's about 250yo. But there's plenty of other natural history especially if you like volcanos and mountains, as well as Native American/early Colonial history if that's your thing
    >have to hire a car to see anything
Not always true in cities, but otherwise yes. The US is frickheug
    >unsafe with guns
Stay out of the ghettoes and your chances of getting shot are very, very slim.

There's a number of sort of unique things here, especially national parks, and especially in the southwest/Utah.

I'd say Vegas, Tucson, Phoenix, Albuquerque/Santa Fe are all worth visiting for a foreigner.

As for parks Arches, Canyonlands, Saguaro, White Sands, the Grand Canyon are all pretty unique, I can't think of anything else like it elsewhere in the world.

Renting a car shouldn't be an issue, it's easy to drive here with the wide roads, and anything you rent will be an automatic. Parking isn't a problem really anywhere in the country outside of maybe NYC.

I hate Americans for voting for the most moronic neo-con warmongering governments but I have to admit that they are friendly as frick. I remember my first time in LA some random strangers invited me to their house party. First couple of times I rejected it cause I thought they were scamming me but ended up going to one right before I left and had a great time. LA is a shit city though, just friendly people.

What I never understand is why Euros and whites go to places like NYC, Boston, LA, Seattle, etc. They aren't any different/better than the large cities in Europe. Same crowded, expensive, soulless concrete jungles

Boston is the one exception to your list. it's actually, genuinely a beautiful & walkable city. But, I understand what you're saying.

      >NYC
Is literally about the culture clash within that concrete jungle. You can find anything and meet anyone from every sort of background in NYC, tons of stuff to do until however late you want to do it. It's second to none in the USA despite its downsides (which you mostly dont deal with as a tourist anyway)
      >Boston
      >soulless
You've never been, tons of old architecture, a good portion of historical tourism and the most european feel out of any other spot in the states. A shithole apartment in the North End is pure soul, as is having the waterfront a walk away and a mediocre subway that lets you get basically anywhere you need.
      >LA
Soulless, fake and turning into zombieland thanks to the homeless.
      >Seattle
      Permanent depression mode
