Workaway.. is it worth it?

I’m thinking about getting a job in Japan on Workaway but I wanted to run it by you autists. Looking into potentially getting a Workaway job in Japan. I’ve been here 4 months and have a WHV so I qualify for paid work.

I’m not expecting to be paid much so long as I get free accommodation and can learn some new skills

I did a workaway in Gary Indiana. It was a neighborhood repair project. The leader of the project was a total Nubian goddess. I'm talking skin as dark as night, curves for days, a skinny waste and perfect teeth. There was something different about this girl... the girl was bad... the girl was dangerous. And my last night of the workaway we made love. Now she's out of my life...

Interesting tale. But why Gary Indiana..?

I've always been interested in American hoods and I know Michael Jackson was from there.

To me, Gary seemed like a place for adventurers (and I was correct about this. Gary is more adventurous than most places in Africa I've been to)

anyone ever transition their workaway into a full time position? i've seen weeb losers take advantage of natural disasters in japan, go volunteer, and then get hired on in some role after the volunteering is done.

No no no no no. You are given abysmal living conditions to essentially work for them for free, they profit off of you, they'll offer some food but you are still expected to get things on your own. They'll bait and switch you, so what you think you get isn't what you arrive to. They will use old photos or no photos at all of where you will sleep. You are limited to fivr hours a day but they will make sure it's ass crack early in the morning and keep you on hold to do b***hwork through the day, you are basically a live in slave at their beck and call, and if you don't let them you are immediately kicked out and homeless in a foreign place often a good ride from public transportation so you're fricked. These people can't run their business but don't want to pay people to work for them so they do this. You won't learn anything, you won't gain any skills, and if you review them honestly they will lie on their review about you and the site doesn't even show low reviews, and won't help you out of a situation. It's not much different to homestays where you pay to stay, they just want to profit. So many scummy people.

This sounds like it’s from experience,

      Do tell your story.

I don’t know what else to do, getting any kind of job almost always requires N3/N2 which is something I don’t have.

Too many stories, some you accept because you are young and wanted the experience and others you realize quick are complete bullshit and everyone agrees with you who is there too. Don't do these because it's free labor, you can work. I did wwoofing, hostels, restaurant, odd jobs like petsitting and packing boxes, teaching. Some paid me, some had a private room, still at the end of the day it benefits the host way more than it does you. You gain nothing.

Where you from and how long is left on the visa? If you have basic Japanese you can work register, I worked at a dojo, a friend worked at a sushi bar, foreigners work at convenience stores I have seen them. If you lack Japanese, you can work teaching and get paid, you can avoid contracts too. You can try making tv appearances, they ask for foreigners for stuff like that.

I did Workaway 3 times in Germany about 6 years ago, in the middle of nowhere everytime. The people I stayed at were really nice everytime, there were other young people and work was minimal.
The drinking in the evening was always fun, and everytime there was a solo girl we ended up fricking (they were all french for some reason).
All in all it can be pretty cool.

did a stint, but with workpackers or another similar site I don't remember. had to teach english in Indonesia.

it was pretty good, the owners were some rich family who had hotels and a private english center. I worked like 4 hours a day at the center talking with kids and they gave me a private hotel room and all meals and transport included

    >tfw told that it would be better if I left because too much autism
They also did not like how I did things
Overall it gave me the possibility to visit a few cities without getting raped by hotels
