Honestly never really had bad experience with any airline and I use budget and non budget airlines. ok maybe the worst thing is parents with todders who scream the entire fligt, this is more prevalent with budget but also happen regularly with non budget (obviously business and first class probably don't have this problem but how would I know)

The good thing about first class, and I’d argue the reason most people get it, even over the better seats and free drinks etc, is that though it doesn’t get rid of problem people, it priced out the vast majority of them. Less kids, less brown people, less obnoxious people in general. If you do see kids it’s highly likely they will be well behaved if just for the reason that mom and dad didn’t shell out 10k to listen to their own little brats annoy them. One time I saw a group of blacks get on first class and I was like son of a b***h. Turned out it was bone thugs and harmoney, they just listened to music and drank grape juice. Sadly that’s perhaps the best use of money in this world, pricing out garbage people from your life. It’s not so much about having the nice things and places, it’s that awful people can’t afford those nice things, or be in those places. I dont like that that’s how it is by the way. Just the reality

I can only agree. And its not only first class, its also true for economy class on many legacy carriers. I used to fly with ryanair but I just cant take the high amount of crap people anymore. Buying tickets on Lufthansa, Swiss, SAS etc. in europe reduces the amount of Black folk and morons you encounter quite drastically (not as much as first class of course).

        Anonymous

Unbeknownst to you, first class actually exists to isolate people like you from the rest of the population (and make you pay for it).

This is basically the only reason I fly on non-budget airliines or first/business class. The people that fly budget/economy are often trouble makers, etc.

Can’t really comment on worst or best; but in relation to picrel; I genuinely, heart of hearts believe that they’re the best in the world just taking into account their fares.

I mean even now, I’m getting flights with Ryanair for $25. It’s not what it once was, I remember times where I’d fly return tickets across Europe for €20, significantly less than what it would cost to get the bus or train to the airport.

It’s a no-frills experience, don’t expect anything great, but it does what it says on the tin, which is get you from a-b.

Great thing about Ryanair too, I used to work in the aviation industry in Europe. Dealing with a lot of bigger legacy carriers, a technical issue, or something along those lines would normally result in passengers stranded for hours, sometimes overnight for the next possible flight or just an outright cancellation for days. Ryanair always had another plane to go within a couple of hours tops and I haven’t once witnessed anything otherwise.

i recently bought ryanair december tickets to uk, it costed me ~250$ in both directions. Is this normal price now or i suck at buying tickets?

No, december is holiday season and prices go up? Is 250 including all the additional fees, extras, baggage etc or is it just the fare?

Its a last minute thing, if they still have seats close to the time of flight they will lower the prices hoping they can sell those seats, mind you this is not guaranteed to happen everytime for everyflight

      >I genuinely, heart of hearts believe that they’re the best in the world just taking into account their fares.
This, I basically see taking a plane like taking a bus, I don't need anything special I just need to get from a to b for as cheap as possible
Ryanair does this for me and so in my mind they're the best airline

Plane was 5 hours delayed, then eventually they stuck on some placeholder aircraft that wasn't designed for transatlantic journeys. 9 hour flight with no TVs, no food AT ALL and was freezing to death. This was when I was a kid in the early 2000s so had nothing to do during the flight.

Spent the entire holiday dreading the flight back, luckily they used a suitable plane. So glad this shit company went out of business.

I have to second this. Loved Singapore airlines and ANA, always great service.

    Best, emirati

From Dubai to Hong Kong, I ate a jollof rice with lamb meat, it was seriously good especially for airline food. The hostesses were very friendly and nice, the plane was massive and very comfortable chairs with lots of entertainment on the entertainment system from arabic music to movies. The 10 hours passed by very fast

    Worst

Wizz Air. Bucharest to Warsaw. The plane did not even have carpeting, no drinks offered, could only pay for items with card, the hostesses tried to sell me shitty fake perfume and the pilot clearly could not deal with turbulence, ended up shaking the whole way. It just felt like a true communist poorgay experience.

Why did you expect anything for free from a budget airline? Wizzair is good to get from point a to point b as cheap and fast as possible, if you wanted anything more than that then you missed the point.

If you think wizz air is decent for budget flights you clearly did not travel alot

Not once had an issue with wizzair. Never really experienced any those things regarding poor state of airplane, in fact its surprising how clean and in perfect working order their airplanes are when they are in use/flying everyday. Also one time I missed my flight with wizzair (arrived at airport too late and they just moved me to later flight that day free of charge)

it's possible that you got one of the good ones, I am dead serious by the way, no carpeting, cold as shit even for a plane

Wizz has some strategic routes that mean you can get from real far away back home for cheap, think you're the one who's not flying much

wizzair iceland to prague was the worst experience of my life. crammed into a metal tube like an animal with nothing to do. middle seat. dying would have been a welcome light in a 4 hour ride of darkness.

Before budget flights where a thing, this trip would either be:
        a) impossible
        b) a 2 month sailing expedition
        c) a suicide run on a viking boat
        d) 3 weeks of sailing and 3 months of travelling on foot and horse-drawn carriage across the continent.

I've never had any issues with Ryanair flights whatsoever. I don't care about comfort or eating while on a plane. They're cheap, they cover almost every route you can imagine and their policies are extremely fair. They're not very strict with overhead luggage either, so you can get away with being slightly over the limit.

BA flight from Vegas last Friday.

Took off 2 1/2 hours late. Food was almost inedible, even by airline standards (never identified the pot of completely flavourless red things). Landed, was stuck outside the gate for an hour as they hadn't organised someone to extend the walkway. The irony is the air stewards told people with connections to move to any spare forward seats so they could get off the plane quickly (one idiot decided to move seats about 30 seconds from landing which made the stewards scream at him) . All those people (60 we were told) missed their connection.

To make things worse, took 2 hours for the plane's baggage to arrive because of a frickup with the handling. Frick British Airways, raised a compensation claim, not expecting to get anything as they'll shift blame to the airport (despite the flight being hours late every day for the last few weeks).

Virgin Atlantic have always been mediocre for me, tiny seats, screaming kids, rude stewards but they're ultra consistent at least, never had a really bad experience with them that wasn't due to turbulence or other passengers.

Not them, but I've travelled a lot (in Europe) and I STILL do not give a frick about the airline as long as it takes me to the destination and I don't fall out of the sky in a flaming casket of steel. Food on airplanes is shit anyways, so who cares? Just make a sandwich, it's 10x better than the quality you'll get on the plane. Only reason why I'd care is if I had some condition and I was more than uncomfortable for 18 hours.

          Anonymous

The thing with food in airplanes, with non budget airlines you pay higher price and the food is included ("free"), with budget you pay lower price but have to pay for food on the flight, the food is more or less the same on both flights (short 3-4 hour flights), but budget airline actually gives an option to either buy food or not.

I hate that garbage carry on weight limit on some airlines, even 10kg is pretty bullshit when it’s across both carry ons. Like who actually brings two bags that weigh less than 20lbs together. My bag and laptop alone are 1/3 of that.

If you fly alot for work and can rack up points/miles then Delta is great. Comfort+ is really good bang for your buck.

Seven courses of delicious French food and as much fresh French bread (with the most delicious butter I've ever had) as you like. Flight scheduled for around midday, delayed to 0:10am without any explanation. Everything at the airport shuts at 10pm, the entire airport devoid of life, and not even any staff. No food or water, not even a water tap (fricking Milan).

10 past midnight comes and goes, no update, no announcement, nobody knows what's going on. Aircraft pulls up at 2am. No explanation, no apology. We wait another 1.5 hours on the tarmac for no reason provided, still no water RIP.

Arrive in Prague at 4am, crew says the delay is because of the weather, despite the weather being great everywhere and no other flights having any issues. Wait for 1 hour for luggage.

After that hour, an airport worker comes (the first member of airport staff we have seen, as it's the middle of the night), saying what are you doing, we don't have your luggage.
