>Sri Lanka
Had to cancel a trip for a wedding because of Covid and the place has been a mess since. >Myanmar
Only place in Southeast Asia I never visited despite spending literal years in the neighborhood, because political shit seemed to hit the fan every time I started planning a trip. >Ethiopia, maybe?
It gets sharply divided reviews from friends who’ve been there (one guy I know found it his favorite country in Africa, one couple I know couldn’t get out fast enough), but I’d like to see the stone churches and old monasteries, and I like the food and music.
If not Ethiopia probably Iran, but as an American passport holder (even a nonresident one), it’s a mild pain in the ass.
There are many more. I feel fortunate to be moderately well-traveled (if I am counting correctly, I visited my 70th country about a year ago), but there are still many more places I haven’t been than places I have.
Going to Japan in September, never been more excited bros. I've been to Italy but only as a layover and did some minor exploring but not enough to consider it "visited".
I’ve actually been everywhere I wanna see. Huh. Travelling is about facilitating activities I can’t do at home these days
1. Japan
2. Italy
I don't have a third one that I really really have to visit before I die.
But if I had to pick a third one anyway I guess France. I have been to Paris before, but you know, Paris sucks ass. I'd like to see the real France
Italy is nice anons. Wide range of different cultures in one big peninsula. Most famous spots are sadly full of normies but you can’t have everything. Cinque Terre and Tyrol my personal faves; Tuscany and Venice also excellent. And of course Rome

You arw american. You will always be american. You are not white. You are not british. You are not 50% nordic viking. You do not have guinness coursing through your veins. You are not german. You are american. You will always be american, and you will NEVER escape that.
>Why does Nairobi require bravery?
If he’s talking specifically about sleeping with women, some bravery is required if hiring prostitutes, because HIV+ rates among hookers specifically have been estimated at over 50%. It’s a lot lower among normal women (who are, generally speaking, attracted to visiting wazungu), but still much higher than average rates anywhere outside of subsaharan Africa.
If he’s talking about general tourism safety, my Kenyan friends are only half-joking when they call NBO “Nairobbery.” Very high risk of getting mugged at gun- or knifepoint if you’re not careful at night. I’ve also heard multiple stories of people getting stuff stolen out of their luggage when staying in cheap hotels such as those on River Road, which is an extraordinarily lively, beginning to gentrify thoroughfare in central NBO, but which is also still mostly sketchy.
All that said, however, I spent a few weeks there and felt in no danger, and I know multiple long-term expats who don’t complain about much apart from the occasional bout of malaria or political violence. But I didn’t walk around by myself after dark and was mostly in the company of locals.
Iceland (again)
Norway (again)
New Zealand (really should go since it's only like a 3 hour flight, closer than half of Australia is)
As an Aussie I find I'm drawn to the opposite sort of environment. I get more than enough hot weather and beaches so tend to love the Fjords/snowy island type destinations.
Bhutan
Chad
Kiribati
>Chad
Why Chad in particular?
>Kiribati
For fishing? I had a doctor who went there every year to catch bonefish.
Peru
Uzbekistan
Thailand
Armenia
Burundi
Vanuatu
Hard to pick just three, but for this week:

I think you know why I'm going to the first two.
I keep seeing this Kenya cooming meme, you fuckers are going to end up making me start planning a trip
for the truly brave, Nairobi is the new Manila. racism and an overblown fear of HIV is gatekeeping the rest of the coomunity.
Heheh, don't do it to yourself.
What's so good about Argentina?
Why does Nairobi require bravery?

Pick another third
Brazil
Switzerland
USA (for the landscape/parks, not the people)
Japan
Portugal
Brazil
Venezuela
Gabon
Tanzania
Honorable mentions: Iran, Russia, DRC
Of ones I haven't been to:

Only for the reason that right now it's impossible to safely visit any of them and I hope to be able to, one day.
Out of the countries that I really want to visit and probably will before too long: Turkey, Peru, Cuba
Out of the countries that I'd like to visit before I die but might not due to the danger and/or cost etc: Afghanistan, DRC, Bhutan
Syria
Iceland
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir.. You know just that whole area in general.
