Accepted a position in Albuquerque and signed a 2 year contract. All I hear about ABQ and NM in general is that it's super hot with lots of crime and junkies.
Are there any positives about living here?

NM has fantastic geography and lots of history in the Rio Grande river valley, Santa Fe, Taos, etc. I'm not sure how it is to live there but you won't be remotely bored until a few months at least
I lived near Alamogordo/White Sands for two years (2012 -2014) and Albuquerque for six months (2018).
Get this out of the way first: you must find a way to love the land. I was forced to live there at first and I hated it. But once I left, I missed it. There is something about the desert that cannot be explained. The sand, the sunsets, the isolation, the plants, etc. Be open to liking it.
And the people, you have to accept them for what they are: Mestizos who LARP as Spaniards and Indians. Most are low class. Just accept it and try to see the positive in them. But if you can't put up with them 24/7, try to get a job where they many non-New Mexicans work: universities, national laboratories, and military bases. Most New MExicans are dumb but some of the smartest people in the country are in Albuquerque and Los Alamos (they work at SNL and LANL).
Correct. Learn the history. It's fascinating and allows for more appreciation.
Get SighSee and enjoy the outdoors. Any questions?
New Mexico is great but the people suck. Avoid them and fill your time with outdoor activities etc and it's a fine place to live. If you crave human interaction etc I would move elsewhere, the population is dumb and high as frick 24/7.
Figured I'd get shitty replies but these are actually nice. Thanks lads
New Mexico anon reporting in. I'm a transplant, so keep that in mind with my comments
This is accurate. Beautiful enough place, but the people absolutely ruin it. On average, New Mexicans are tall, dumb, overweight, unattractive, low IQ, arrogant and overconfident, polite but not friendly, and generally lowbrow. The state has all the typical poor area problems (drugs, violence, crime, alcohol abuse, gangs, littering, obesity, etc). The food ranges from trash to decent. The drivers are weird but not the worst (Texas receives that fine distinction), and in general, if you like to socialize or find things to do, you'll be very sorely disappointed. The cities have shit tier nightlife, and the towns are filled with people who settle down and pop kids out by their early 20s. People are cliquey and slow to welcome new folk, but it's not like they get together and do much of anything interesting anyway.
Thats true of pretty much all of NM, yet at the same time, most locals don't exactly do anything to bring the money in to their towns or improve them. So it's either a more accelerated rate of decay, or have tourists. NM is lucky that i's historic and pretty enough to even get any, tbqh. TLDR; locals are c**ts who can't see the big picture.
Honestly, it sucks here. The hiking is nice, the drives are pretty, the clouds are incredible, but the weather sucks, the people suck, the money sucks, and you can feel the desperation in the air.
>the weather sucks
I've heard a couple people say this but it looks like Arizona weather without the 110 degree summers
I'd say the weather mirrors Arizona exactly, depending on the geography. Like Arizona, NM has river valleys, sandy deserts, scrublands, and alpine mountains.
Allow me to clarify a bit; where I live is high desert, and here's what we deal with...
>looks like Arizona weather without the 110 degree summers
Right, so instead it's 105 degree summers. If that's appealing to you, then do you.
Basically in the Spring, we have decent temps with a more wide variety of weather as is typical for the season, but it's often incessantly windy outside, gusting sand and dust all day. It can be windy all week long, for days and days on end. It ends up ruining the season because you can barely go outside and do anything enjoyable, even though the temp is nice.
By June, we've got long stretches of high 90's to mid 100 degree temps. This lasts more or less until October. The upshot of summers is storms, but other than that, it's dry, hot, dusty, and doesn't drop into the 80s except for night time. Its sweat time for 5 or 6 months.
Fall is nice. Best season of the year. Warm but not hot, some cloud cover and occasional rain. Not excessively windy or cold. It's comfy, if perhaps a bit on the warm side. The window of time where we have ideal mid 70 degree weather, mild wind, and clear days is pretty small. It quickly goes from 80s to 60s and 50s.
Winter is what you'd expect. Snow, rain, cold, cloudy. Brutal cold winds come through. Thing is that at least where I live, it gets cold enough to snow, but not often enough to have all the equipment we need to take care of the town. So it's possible for winter to really frick shit up here. Remember that freak winter storm that froze Texas out last year? Yeah, that fricked us up pretty good here too. We also get these moronic storms that just dump and dump super hard and fast, flood the town, and then stop.
It's certainly not the worst weather ever, but it's uncomfortable in some way for 3/4 of the year, and often more inconvenient and disruptive than it should be. Maybe I'm spoiled having lived in quite a few "ideal weather" places, but the truth is that it fricking sucks.
What town do you live in? Sounds like you are super exposed to the elements. These concerns don't really exist living in Abq other than high temp or a little occasional wind
SE New Mexico
Ah, that's a different story than Albuquerque and Santa Fe
Carlsbad?
Wtf are you on about lad? ABQ avg high in July is like 91 and it gets down into mid 60s at night. It's nowhere near as hot as Vegas or Phoenix
Was thinking the same thing. Visiting from Phoenix to get away from summer heat. Just about a punched a b***h when I overheard her moaning about having to turn on her A/C for the "heat wave" in ABQ.
Our lowest temperature is probably your high. Anyway, I find the locals incredibly friendly and polite. Seemed like everybody drove nice and slow there as well. I welcomed the relaxing vacation. Just avoid the poor areas although they probably have the best food.
OP again. I've been here for 9 days now. I really like the area so far. Only drawback is it seems like some natives don't trust a tall white guy from another state.
Why are you talking to colored people?
Frick off leave incel
>Only drawback is it seems like some natives don't trust a tall white guy from another state.
How has that even come up?
You mean small, not tall. Everyone is short and obese here
People with native American blood tend to be tall. Navajo men are like Dutch height on average
Injuns average five feet tall
No they aren’t tall unless mixed, they’re usually short and obese because they can’t tolerate our corn syrup feed.
>New Mexicans are tall, dumb, overweight, unattractive, low IQ, arrogant and overconfident, polite but not friendly, and generally lowbrow.
>tall
lol they are mostly short goblins
>tall
I'm 6'1 and I'm taller than 95% of men here compared to maybe 75% of men in the other states I've lived
It's a poor state with lots of parts to avoid (especially in ABQ), but it's also beautiful. If you like hiking, it's great. As another anon said, there's a lot of history, especially Native American history if that interests you. I also think the food is good, and it's an affordable place to live. You're also at least somewhat close to Texas or Colorado, depending on what part of the state you're in. I prefer Santa Fe and Taos to Albuquerque, but that's just because I have a soft spot for tourist traps. As for the people, you're going to meet some strange characters, many of whom are fricked up beyond comprehension. But you'll also meet some kind people. Have fun, and if you don't like it after two years then you can leave.
Thanks anon. I went down there for a 2 day visit and noticed some of the locals were a bit strange. Not sure if it was drugs or what. They seemed suspicious of an outsider
Taos locals fricking hate outsiders if you were there
The injuns or what?
Any Taos local that has been there more than 15 years is super bitter about all the shitty Californians invading their town and they try to make their lives miserable so they leave
Hope the c**tifornians do leave, then. My folks just went there yesterday and are from OK, hopefully they gave off the vibe they weren't shitty c**tifornians visiting. They've been visiting there for over 40 years now.
I don't blame them. I'm from Oregon and Californians destroyed our state. They flee California for cheaper living then vote for the same shit that destroyed California. Literal locusts.
>be complicit in where you live getting worse
>consequences make life there unbearable for you
>move to new fresh state without all those problems (because people like you dont live there)
>20 years later
>consequences make life there unbearable for you
It's one of my favorite cities in the US. The bad stuff you hear is exaggerated, and it's never really all that hot since it's high elevation and dry. Imo it's way prettier and the climate is way better than the front range in Colorado.
>The bad stuff you hear is exaggerated
No, idiot. ABQ is a shitty city. High crime and lots of poverty.
All the locals I've spoken to say the government in NM is a disaster. Then they vote for the same people lol
Colorado has great mointain towns but the front range is overrated. The only cool town is Boulder but that was destroyed by politics and Californians
> Are there any positives about living here?
It’s cheap! Largely because it’s poor, yes (a car-rental guy at the airport at ABQ called it “a poverty state,” and urged me to get additional insurance because of the high likelihood of anyone I collided with being completely uninsured), but it should translate into good COL savings. Albuquerque is OK at best, but above anons are right that the geography of the state is in many parts gorgeous, and there’s a lot of history (Santa Fe, close to ABQ, may be tourist trappy, but it’s also one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in what is now the US; what used to be called Anasazi ruins are remarkable).
Oh, and there are very high speed limits.
Made a couple posts ITT already, my final take is that Albuquerque will blow up soon due to being affordable, having a fairly unique culture, a decent sized airport, and lots of natural beauty. If you're looking to move there, buy a house or condo now before the median price doubles by 2025
You're probably right. Seems like people who want to own are now having to reach to the 3rd & lower tier cities, looking for that "hidden gem" thing that Austin, Nashiville, etc had 20 years ago. ABQ is one of those along with Tulsa, and a bunch of other shit tier cities. Question is, are the cartels going to accept this?
I'm sure the cartels will love a bunch of middle class people moving in and spending thousands on blow
I hope you're right. I own a condo in Abq near downtown. Frankly I'm not hopeful though as there is a good chance this whole area turns into a tent city. Downtown has nowhere to go but up though. Any further down and it's going to implode
Yeah, no, not really it's the poor place that retirees from Cali/Oregon/WA go to if they can't afford Arizona. It's not "hidden" or "low key" it's marketed nonstop to people on the west coast.
If you're from the east coast, there's Florida which is why you dont' hear about it often. Ironically, I know people who were retired in Florida re-retire in NM because it is 50% the cost of Florida, so it's that cheap. Florida cost also has gone quite considerably up in the past 5 years -
Then there's the Breaking Bad/BCS fanboys, who, ironically market the frick out of a drugged out fantasy fiction piece, which is ironic because they do tours because of a violent drug crime show.
Fricking USA, money making anyway.
tl;dr ownership is a scam, and investing in NM probably means you can't afford much anyway. There is a reason you see on an intersection four gas stations vs numerous that do not have one.
What you out of town gays don't understand is that Santa Fe and Albuquerque are land locked by Indian Reservations. ABQ can not grow North or West, it hits Indian land and they know better to sign contracts or sell land to anyone. Also, Santa Fe is landlocked in the same fashion. These two cities in the Rio Grande valley can't physically grow. Plus you go to far West in ABQ region you run out of water, same as the area east of the Sandias. This area has hit peak growth. It's doomed to never grow.
What did other cities do when they ran out of room? Build up instead.
>run out of water
Shut up moron
Why, there’s no need NM and ABQ have negative population growth, for a reason. They don’t want it to grow.
agree that they will grow up. there are a lot of yuppie 3-5 story condo buildings going up already. and there is still plenty of empty space that isn't a rez in the area. you are going to see a lot of pozzed netflix/amazon homosexuals moving here for years to come
Nah Netflix is broke they’ll leave this dump first and a list Hollywood actors hate NM and don’t want to work here because it’s a 3rd world shit hole with subpar entertainment and night scene
ABQ is literally the last city in the western US with a decent size airport where you can buy a non-shit home for less than 400k.
Do you not understand abq and Santa Fe can not physically grow, the cities are landlocked my Native American reservations and the natives learned long ago to never sell their land or sign contracts or deeds. Plus areas near both cities don’t have enough water for larger populations.
So you're telling me some of the poorest people in America wouldn't sell 1/80 of their empty land for hundreds of millions?
Idiot.
Why sell homosexual?
No.
>reservations
>sell the land
moron
>what is building up
Downtown has like 5 buildings over 10 stories. There's plenty of room to put in taller buildings all over town.
downtown has so much potential but the city is content to let it be a shithole filled with homeless, crime, and abandoned buildings. they are literally asking the businesses there to start paying an extra fee to get police protection
Abq and Santa Fe can not grow because they are land locked by native land.
You keep saying this and you keep being wrong. There's tons of space south, west, and SW to expand albuquerque
West you run out of water and hit Indian land. If you move south you’ll be living in the beaner meth kingdom, there’s nothing south, it’s horrific.
The literal nicest neighborhood of Albuquerque is south near the Netflix studio man. Stop posting.
Not him but are you talking about Mesa del sol? Because lmao if so
Highest average home price, high end restaurants and retail coming in. Mesa del Sol will be the new NE Heights in about 18 months.
Just 18 more months... the original mesa del sol investors went broke
Haha mesa del sol? Shitty suburb along the airport flight path, countless flights in and out, plus the nearest grocery store is ghetto smiths on Yale… fricking joke man, that shitty suburb will be a ghetto in 5 years
ABQ can expand to the blue line. Hundreds of square miles still to develop. Water is the #1 problem to population growth
Bruh ABQ is literally boxed in because Indian reservations won't give up their land. The local government can't do shit unless they go up to the federal level so have to buy it off the locals.
ABQ is fricked
stop saying the same stupid shit over and over again that has already been refuted like 4 times ITT
Your map shows Ysleta pueblo, that's indian land south, it's indian land west, you hit a limit west a few miles out. North of Albuqueruqe the city has already hit the limit with the sandia pueblo land which continuing north you have cochiti pueblo land and another tribe before santa fe, and north of santa fe you have pojoaque pueblo land. You're not getting it. Inidans own all the land and have albuquerque and santa fe boxed in. Why don't you understand this? Why don't you understand the last thing the tribes will do is sell their land. If you were an Indian, knowing the history of contracts and land, would you sell any land? Of course not.
There's literally hundreds of square miles to the west yet to be developed lol
No there is not. Only south of Los lunas, and that’s all shit all the way to Juarez. You can’t go west there’s not enough water .
Yes there is. The albuquerque city limit goes like 9 miles west/southwest of the river and that land is empty
ABQ is land locked by Indian reservations. Shut up.
The arrows indicate Indian land, the rectangle indicates lack of sufficient water to support a population. There's nowhere for the city to grow, unless you go to a town 20 to 200 miles outside of ABQ, but then you're not in ABQ are you?
In another decade they'll have large scale desalination plants and there will be enough water to go around. Water won't be a concern.
lol yeah right. what is actually going to happen is that the government will start severely limiting the water available to the general public
moron
This has already been refuted like 5 times but I'll say it one more time. There is still a bunch of empty land that is not indian ownded that is already being developed which will only continue. Also the city will build up, which is already happening clearly with all the multi-story buildings going up. You are just ignoring what has been said already and restating the same refuted argument over and over again. Yes the indian land is a limiting factor, but there is still lots of building upward and outward that is happening before we ever hit that limit
anyway, i'm saying you're wrong but i actually would prefer if you were right because that would help my property value
>heheh yeah! let's just build up massive communities in the desert! we will never run out of resources here!
i didn't say it was a good idea. i said it's going to happen
also, not my map. south valley, mesa del sol, etc still can be developed by a lot. you are ignoring lots of non-indian lands that are still mostly empty
You’re obviously not from here and you don’t have a clue about anything except your stupid map. ABQ isn’t going to grow if you think breweries are going to bring in coastal homos to the point we’re building sky rises to house them. Absurd.
ABQ isn't going to grow simply for the fact that its a minority-majority city and though nobody will admit it, nobody flocks to such places.
It’s worse than you imagine 65% of the city is on government assistance the rest of the state is at 60%. NM not only is a blue state, but it’s also a welfare state.
the only reason the state doesn't totally collapse is because of all the high paying federal jobs here
You forget every tribe and reservations gets millions in federal subsidies. Natives don’t pay for college, housing, food, healthcare, it’s all taxpayer funded.
I've heard a lot of locals talk about the 'zoom boom' of WFH people moving to NM from late 2020 through now
>eyy holmes why u trippin mane i tole you already
You seem to think there’s unlimited water surrounding ABQ…
But the average median income is less than $45K
West side water in ABQ is brackish and the aquifer is being drawn down and not replenished. It’s the highest priced water in NM. East of ABQ on the other side of the sandias wells are running dry and families carry plastic giant water tanks in their trucks to buy household water in ABQ…. The place is doomed
how the frick do you get brackish water when we're nowhere near the ocean?
also can't they just run pipes with abq city water over there?
I really miss NM and want to go back ASAP. Its a beautiful state. Crime is high but its more property crime than violent crime. NE heights and Westside are the safe wealthy neighborhoods.
Cost of living is cheap and the people are really laid back, legal weed as well if that is your thing. If not the hiking/camping scene is really good with tons of free campsites in the middle of nowhere to easily disconnect.
Frick off we’re full. White boys get the knife
you've never stabbed anyone
Your sister sucked my dick for a $20 bottle of vodka, Ashkii. Hope you had fun walking home together
I'm white, i make good money, and I bought a house in your city 🙂
Albuquerque proper is about 600K. Surrounding shitholes will add another 400k a 100 mile stretch along the Rio grande valley from Belen to Rio rancho. There’s a lot of murders not reported because abq is a blue city with a gay corrupt Marxist mayor who is beholden to the Mexican cartels. Move here at your own risk avoid anything south if I-40 in ABQ, it’s a complete shit hole
I've been through there a number of times. Hot? Not really. It's about the same as anywhere else and nothing like Arizona. And it's very dry so it feels cooler. Poor? Absolutely. The whole place has a rough, run down feel to it with a few exceptions. Albuquerque makes Phoenix feel classy. People seem like they are either white trash or brown. The prevalence of Spanish and Indian culture is interesting though. The food is actually pretty good and the whole place smells good when people roast them chiles outside. The state is pretty even if it feels like one great big trailer park as far as how most people are. I think the smart people in NM work at one of the nuclear labs. Rio Rancho and Los Ranchos seem like a nicer place to live than Albuquerque even if it's boring.
The west side of Albuquerque is pretty nice. Anything south of I40 And near 25 is shitty and unsafe
>Are there any positives about living here?
"it could always be worse!"
>positives about living in New Mexico
you can leave
If you're ever looking for extra work, I may know a guy who knows another guy.
Nothing wacky or wild twists. Trust me.
I was born in Albuquerque. Crime has been getting worse, but god damn is the food terrific. Get yourself a green chili burger from Blake’s Lottoburger.
Wasng born in ABQ but have lived in the area since 4yo. Live in Rio Rancho now due to slightly improved local government.
To OPs point, a lot of the same shit that's been repeated. Locals are weird as frick but vary form location to location. ABQ is basically starting to fill with Portland / California tier transplants which has driven up the rent by 50% or more over the last 3 years.
Other parts of NM have more insular people due to small local communities that have existed since fricking colonial Spanish times and are inbred as frick.
Weather is tbh pretty comfy at least in central NM it mostly gets up to the low to mid 90s during the summer with some days in the high 90s and low 100s which is a newer thing of the last 5 years or so. Other wise has a pretty cold winter and short spring and fall which are quite good weather.
In terms of what to do... ABQ and surrounding metro has a lot of local breweries, bars are actually pretty decent and have a nice indie vibe. . but clubs are F-- tier and I would recommend you stay away due to crime. Criminal aspects mostly stay away from breweries though since they are too expensive and not appealing to their racial background tbh.
increasing amount of net migration from blacks has been the main driving force behind increased murder and petty theft in the last 5+ years but no one even wants to touch it because the local government is pozzed as frick.
basically there's plenty of stuff to do locals are mostly liberal idiots but tolerable for short periods of time. Lots of outdoor activities. Not a lot of high scale activities though compared to most major cities.
Lol I went to a trendy brewery the other night and the crowd looked like Portland circa 2009. The exact same hipster fricks who are obsessed with looking cool and being original like everyone else
Which one?
Don't remember. It was one word. Not far from the lobos football stadium. Had a back patio and gross fat bartenders who didn't shave their armpits
Bosque on Girard and central?
Found my receipt. Differential
Never been but looked it up, what a shit hole, there’s so many better breweries scattered everywhere
It's not about the beer or the bar itself anon. It's about the people drinking there. California expats who turned Seattle, Portland and Denver into 'cool' cities are doing the same to Albuquerque. Give it 3 years and ABQ will be one of the trendiest cities in America
>turned Seattle, Portland and Denver into 'cool' cities
I can guarantee you that there is not one person in the entire planet that thinks these places are "cool" except for the people stuck living there, and even then only as a hopeless cope for how much they are getting ass raped by rent and amenities just for the pleasure of living next to a homeless encampment. Maybe you might dupe some bored moron who never traveled 20 miles out of his small town in some flyover state that these places might be "cool", but literally no one else.
>ABQ will be one of the trendiest cities in America
Lmao, God this country is fricking pathetic and desperately trying to hold on to whatever semblance of "cool" softpower it has left remaining. LAME.
Figures that you college moron weedheads think flyover country is boring because th e y don't have trannies, barcades, avocado toast and homeless junkies on every corner. Yall deserve to suffer in your shithole cities worshipping George floyd statues
I'm pretty sure he's criticizing the exact places a college pothead moron would think are cool
Learn to read flyover moron.
instead, Albuquerque just has junkies on every corner.
Abq has trannies, the original dude at the video game store correcting the clerk… ‘it’s MAAM’ is from abq, I’ve seen him at oriels in his dress at Juan table
>Abq has trannies
Go anywhere even remotely "trendy" here and they are everywhere. I went to rail yards market recently and saw like 5 trannies there in the span of 15 minutes, not even in a group together just independently. go on dating apps and it's all disgusting fat freaks. need to get out asap
ABQ has guacamole it’s made from avocados, you can put it on toast or eat it with chips
Portland and Denver were two of the top 3-4 fastest growing metro areas for most of 2008-2020. Everyone was moving to both.
NM has lost population the last decade
Been hearing that shit for 30 years… Yankees and west coast gays don’t have the balls to stay here more than a year
Go to NM they said, full of cool west coast hipsters they said… become a human bear rug.
Holy shit you actually believe that? Do you know how many kids i grew up with that are dead now who's cali gay daddy and or israelite york mommy worked at the labs or retired here? You think your the first wave to come through. I will say your the first black wave I've seen. I'm in my 30s born and raised here and never in my life have I've seen so many out of no where. Before I left it was maybe a few a month or two. Now it's a dozen a day. What jobs are you getting here?
t. Kyle Esteban Gutierrez-Dominico
Homeless junkie b***hes from out of state are more attractive than the local goblinas and pigs
Why are /misc/cels literally always wrong? It must be tiring being such a fricking moron
if you don't want to hear /misc/ shit then don't come to SighSee. try twitter or reddit
Imagine thinking demographic data is going to be taken correctly while there's an increase in crime. Ask anyone who lives here if there have been more blacks wandering the streets. This kind of stuff is actively suppressed.
Incel hands typed this post. Yikes.
Can confirm the blacks have increased especially younger ones. I know because I frick them. Dude is right about the stats being bullshit, stop believing this bullshit over your own two eyes
are you a buck breaker
nah i like the sheboons
what is the tax situation like in NM?
A lot of the reason for Austin and Nashville is because of their state's favorable tax rates for residency.
NM is middle of the road for income/sales/property tax overall. Blue state but not bad.
Too bad you never experienced original lotaburger, the chain was bought from the local dude chancellor Blake over ten years ago, it’s shit now.
Lots of poor people, but the crime is more like petty crime. Like someone may siphon fuel from your car or jack your laptop if you leave it unattended in a public space. It's not like Chicago where you risk being shot and killed by a gangbanger if you turn on to the wrong street.
Also education is real bad in NM, so expect more stupid people than you're probably used to.
Lived here 30 years last house I bought near tramway north of Montgomery. The city went to shut in 2010 and hasn’t recovered. It’s filled with junkie bums, empty strip malls and nothing but stoned local beaners living in section 8 apartments . It’s awful and ghetto with only a few places that are not complete shit holes. It could be so much better but the political class who run the state and the cities are globohomosexual wannabes and puppets. I’m too old to move, if you’re young don’t come here it’s a trap.
OP again. Another thing I've noticed is locals aren't very smart. Has nothing to do with race, it's everyone from here. It's like they're constantly impressed you can engage in basic conversation. It's a weird dynamic man
If this isn't bait then...
NM really doesn't have much going for it compared to how AZ simply bulldozed through things in the 50's and 60's.
You have 1 main river that every farm in the state piggy backs off of, and natives hate dams for whatever stupid reason so water is always an issue
Anything that was government got consolidated to white sands or simply moved to AZ
Anything private was simply moved to Texas or AZ
The natives make it a welfare state
The amount of retiree's make it a welfare state even more
Contracting is basically the only way to bring in talent as everyone in NM burns out into a trade job or moves to any state around it to GTFO.
NM has had major investments from Intel, Boeing, and the film/tv industry, which have all attracted educated, medium to high earning people. It's not as bad as it was 15 years ago.
Intel and other TSMC plants simply went to AZ due to AZ saying they would build a dam almost exclusively for the tech industry+solar options making power a non issue.
NM has stuff going for it, but overall you're better going anywhere North/East/West than in NM. At least it isn't actual mexico
Why is everyone on this site wrong all the time?
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/newsroom/news/new-mexico-manufacturing.html
Intel and TSMC along with other manufacturers are looking to move to AZ moron. NM is a desert in terms of talent which is why it's a pain to constantly import people and it's better to move for resources both people and materials.
why is it so hard for you to read between the lines on everything? tsmc is going to AZ, no plans for NM at all. Intel is upgrading their NM plant sure, but they chose to upgrade and build way way more in AZ. it's a matter of scale. if they didn't already have a legacy plant in NM they would never choose to open one here now.
>this thread
Lul. I grew up here. It’s just what you make of it. Albeit with good food, somewhat stupid people, and lots of open space. Being some pissy incel here won’t be much different than being one in any other city
I will agree that differential is probably the shittiest brewery in the city
Are you working at los Alamos? Or doing a post doc and uni or something? I'm a physicist there.
The food but since your not from here you probably wont like it anyways. Also, they watered down all the good new mexican restaurants red and green chili because so many gays have moved here. Have to go to some of the whole in the wall places now or make it home made. Other then that it's great here for a year or so but not more. Your right against the sandias or your surrounded by trash people. good out doors stuff small racing scene not many people know about and good hunting/fishing.
What type of jobs are out here now anyways? Why are so many people moving to this shit hole? I left 6 years ago and moved to sea but i've been back for almost 3 months now and I don't even reconize it. The buildings are mostly the same but the people are all foreigners now. Cali, chicago, texas and tons of blacks. I remember when I left you would see maybe 3 or for blacks every two months. Now it's fricking 10 a day. what type of work is bringing you here anon?
The nicest people you’ll ever meet in NM will be the four corners natives, not the poor souls wandering central ave, but the sober natives.
There's a shit ton of degenerate troons in ABQ and Santa Fe because the state insurance gives them free hormones and surgeries, it's why every fast food shit hole and Target employee is a dude with nubs under his lady blouse. It's disgusting.
Been sitting at flying star cafe for 30 minutes
, haven’t seen one fit woman walk in. They’re all unhealthy fat pigs, look like complete shit.
sounds about right. take one look at tinder/bumble in abq and you will see just how low quality the women here are. truly disgusting. and not just physically, but who they are as people
Some of their spawn
It’s generational ignorance and inbreeding
>flying star
Confirmed for tasteless homosexual. You’re honestly going to be miserable everywhere. Just off yourself and hope for a better reroll at life
not the best food, but can be a place for pussy at the right location, try rio grande location
north valley is based. but don't clue that homosexual in
>in a restaurant
>surprised everyone is fat
Fit people cook their own food lardass
The Isleta Casino is pretty nice, it is just outside of ABQ.
I won a small semi-jackpot ($40 but it was off of a penny slot) and they have a cool pool.
Really cheap too, especially on the off season during the week. Plus bingo.
isleta is cool they have a nice sports betting area and low limits
Talk about settling... generic indian casino on the edge of town with a pool and low limits...
Be prepared to hear constant discussions of green chillis
Never been to ABQ but I love Santa Fe and Taos. The mountainous parts of New Mexico are gorgeous, learn to ski and go enjoy that in the winter.
>Are there any positives about living here?
lol nope
There's a lot of massage parlors in Albuquerque. You can get a great massage and a nice handy pretty damned cheap and plentiful. I'm trans btw.
Name one of them
Sounds like New Mexico is a few gibs away from being just like Old Mexico
New Mexico is Old Mexico. Mexico is New Mexico.
what the frick. don't confuse people
you're already confused
Nah Nuevo mexico actually was named before mexico by Spanish conquistadors
what? It was part of the fricking Louisiana purchase, New Espana was a b***h nation, sold out by espana to cover ancient porn debts..
Majority of NM is South America tier but without the charm of South America
I've lived here over 30 years. I'm embarrassed by this thread, not because it's all bullshit, but because it's fricking real.
i've been here 4 years and i feel like i'm trapped. i see why they call it land of entrapment. it's like you're not allowed to escape
You can escape but it costs a fortune to go from 3rd world existence to 1st world existence. I see coastal trash sell their dumps for a million and move here and buy 3 times the house for 300K... it's unreal.
it's not the money that has trapped me here, it's my career
Me too man.
Sandia?
no, but something along those lines
You should not have replied.
why not? you're the one that just saved the thread from dying
I bought a 1900sqft 3br house 3 months ago in ABQ for $359k. Would have been $1M easily in Southern California
what are some good day trips i can take from abq?
Ruidoso, white sands, Jemez
what is there to do in ruidoso?
low end indian casiino, zip line, tourists from mexico, bbq, walmart, buttholes from texas, farm raised fishing holes, drunk locals, baptists from lubbock, a coupe of dive bars, souvenir shit, dirty cheap hotels
thanks but that doesn't really wound worth the drive
damn bro stop embarrassing yourself
nice to see afrl get a mention. and yeah, i'm not surprised that my tax dollars are paying for those disgusting freaks to cut off their dicks. frick this place
>finally admits he was wrong about the land
>muh water
lmao. they are going to just grow anyway despite the water issues and then start forcing people to conserve. you really cant see the writing on the wall?
You can’t grow without water. You’re delusional, Arizona, Nevada and southern California are as delusional as you.
I never said it was a good idea. I said it's what will happen. The other states you mentioned are just proving my point. They already did exactly what NM is about to do.
So they'll close all the golf courses and that will conserve enough water for 100k more people
It’s just an uglier version of Arizona without any big cities. The desert regions are blander and don’t have palm trees, the alpine regions are less dramatic.
The eastern third of the state is pancake-flat grassland. It’s also poor as shit, people call it the Mississippi of the West.
Taos and Santa Fe are nice for a 4 day vacation but I wouldn’t go for any longer than that.
A guy from my high school moved to ABQ from a large city in the Midwest specifically because they offer free hormones or some kind of transition therapy. In high school he was a pretty normal dude and then he went to college and went off the fricking rails.
This is the kind of person this city attracts, along with druggie burnouts. The only redeeming qualities is that there's a lot of high level science and engineering types - Sandia, AFRL, etc.
>lets cancer patients die
>pays for troony penis removal surgery
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE
In this thread a lot of little dick buttholes who's knowledge of New Mexico and Albuqueruqe is infinitesimally small...
The twerking at the end is what does it for me.
seething goblino
>that thigh gap tho
The driving is exceptionally bad here lol. You gotta be careful on freeways and at stoplights
Having a job and a car in New Mexico makes dating on tinder a breeze.
I had a lot more luck before covid but now it seems much harder. Most of the women here are trash though
That I cant deny.
Yes, they are brain dead high school dropout trash if they're from New Mexico. Every decent lay I ever had, they were from somewhere else. The locals regardless of education all behave like high school dropouts, they just don't have any common sense, plus if they're beaners they're usually being stalked by a family member and their last 5 frick boys. It's so sick.
yeah dumb girls suck at sex you need a nerd with a phd
To everyone ITT saying there's nowhere for albuquerque to expand and grow, go ahead and Google 'Rio Rancho estates' lol. It's as big as the entire east half of albuquerque and under construction
Rio Rancho is not Albuquerque, is it? It's a different and unique incorporated city called Rio Rancho with it's own police department, school district, mayor and city council. moron.
It's albuquerque bud. No one says 'I'm from Rio rancho' unless someone asks what part of albuquerque
he is just going to debate you on the semantics even though for the entire discussion everyone was clearly referring to the metro area he's going to dishonestly pretend we were all talking about the technical city limits
No one across the Hudson in New Jersey says they live in Manhattan, just like no one across the the Rio Grande river in Rio Rancho says they're from Albuquerque. Along 900 miles of Texas border the Rio Grande separates Mexico and the USA it's an international natural boundary separating two sovereign nations, the same river that is between Albuquerque, Corrales and then Rio Rancho. There is another incorporated city between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, it's called Corrales an area that has been occupied for 600 years before Rio Rancho. I've prepared a map for the morons. Pic related.
No one in Manhattan says they live in New Jersey
Some people can't admit when they're wrong. The Albuquerque metro will grow 15% from 2020 to 2030
People from Rio rancho say they are from Rio rancho, they hate Albuquerque, it’s full of junkie bums and ghettos
It's already out of water. Local Rio Rancho hottie:
>already out of water
K bud
Rio Rancho is originally a fake community created by the mafia to sell worthless tracts of land. Rio Rancho and Albuquerque are not the same.

I have a book recommendation for you OP
The Milagro Beanfield War by John Nichols
Is this luke?
stop shilling your dads book and get a fricking job
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogallala_Aquifer
Rio Rancho is a memetown
New Mexican food is wonderful but NM green chile is overrated.
i love it. i would recommend trying it multiple times from different places because it can vary pretty significantly depending on the harvest and other factors.
yeah. i just hope my property value doesn't get rekt in the next couple years before i attempt my escape
NM green chili is not over rated, you're just low IQ
ABQ metro has lost population the last decade while regional cities such as phoenix, Denver, Dallas have increased population. Rio Rancho has lost population. Do your research, butthole wiener sucker.
Post proofs or shut the frick up
false
New Mexico is dead to me. I hope you get nuked all you sorry inbred beaners and white trash.
Different Anon than OP, but I have a question about Albuquerque and it makes more sense it ask in the existing thread.
What areas of ABQ would be safe to stay in while traveling? I don't mind straying a bit as long to not be in a complete hovel area. It would just be for an overnight.
Honestly stay north of I40, or on the west side of the river and it's fine. The only truly sketchy areas are south of 40. Avoid the International District. Some parts of SE are sketchy too but not so bad that you're in danger or anything.
great place
