Advice on travelling laptop 13"

Hey SighSeeents,

>tl;dr: Need a good laptop for travelling which can be upgradable in the future (access to internals, no soldered parts) and should have multiple connections (multiple usbs, hdmi, card reader and headphone jack) below 1500$

I want to go traveling and for that I need a small laptop. Currently I am a DELL XPS fan and still have my XPS 15 9560. The best laptop I have ever had. I was smart enough to uninstall bloat and stomp out Microsoft from changing my software from day1.
6 years later and its still as fast as day1. Only thing changed was the battery after 4 years.

Now I'm not searching for an upgrade but for a laptop similar to specs of my 9560 but in 13" or smaller. I want a laptop and not a tablet.

HOW FRICKING SUPRISED I WAS THAT DELL BECAME FRICKING homosexualS!
All their XPS 13 models have now all hardware soldered. SSD, Memory, Wireless card everything. In addition their laptops only have 2 USB-C ports....only....nothing else. Where the frick did the HDMI or card reader go? Since when did Dell become Apple? Are their any brands that still make Laptops instead of Tablets? Its Black Friday so I hope I can find something this week.

If you want Linux support I strongly advise against the HP Spectre x360. Bang for the buck great hardware wise, but frick me they don't have drivers for half the hardware on this thing.

Elitebook is cheaper with the same specs and without the USB chasis hub gimmick, why was it not included in the comparison?

NTA but I had a HP and it fell apart after 3 years. Battery and fan broke.

You are right that HP consumer products are known to be complete garbage that fall apart a week after the warranty expires
But the Elitebook/Zbook/Fire-something are of the business class line of laptops

You don't do this with laptops. Non-soldered parts are great because it makes them repairable, but getting a laptop and expecting to upgrade it later is just straight up moronic. Either buy nice now or new later. You're just wasting money if you buy cheap and upgrade because you're throwing new parts at old hardware.
Getting the cheapest and shittyist drive and ram presinstalled so you can immediately upgrade it is the exception since that will actually get you a better deal than going with the garbage vendor options and you'd be throwing new hardware at new hardware.

Upgrade means i purchase more ram or purchase a 256GB laptop and later a 1000GB

XPS laptops aren't designed for your use case. If you want DELL than go with latitude (or some other of their office series). XPS hardware and QC has gone to shit in recemt years. Tough if you have the money and income to support it just give up on having replacable parts - on site repair beats by a wide margin anything framework can offer and that's the bast case in "repearability"
