Allahu Akbar Christmas Trip

Would this route be safe to do by bicycle? Want to go somewhere warm for christmas and google says I can get to all these countries pretty easy and only travel advisory is for Saudi near yemen border. Anyone been here? I like tea and hummus.

It's gonna be way better to come to saudi arabia from the sout region of Jordan coz your way isn't going to be safe you would pass the Alnfoodh desert and you probably gonna die over there

it would probably be "safe" as in nobody is going to kill you along the way
but it would be incredibly dangerous in terms of risk to your health from sunstroke, exposure, dehydration etc or massive trucks squishing you flat or expats in riyadh speeding along the highway to get to bahrain at the weekends
you should try to acclimatise before you try going to far. try walking across a desert like caine in kung fu

The Arabian peninsula in the winter is literally freezing overnight with daytime temps in the 50s-60s (farenheit) and warmer on the coasts and lower elevations similar to Joshua Tree or Arizona where people recreate all the time in the winter in very nice weather. The sun is intense though even at lower winter temps and the air is dry so you will need to stay on top of hydration. Assuming OP is in shape and has done something like this kind overland cycling before. Arab driving style and not much of a bike culture and no shoulder on a lot of highways in that region though.

Go through Jeddah. It's the least soulless and most interesting city in SA.

I did this on a roadbike last year and it was an amazing trip - not an issue at all at the saudi and yemen border. Literally took a carbon bike worth 3k+ and went at it.

oh yeah, mostly biked from 5pm-6am it isn't doable in the day.

I'd be going in December. Weather says it gets to about 25-30C but can get cold at night. Any pictures?
