Any Americans or Israelis managed to get into Bolivia without paying?

I entered on Lake Titicaca by Copacabana,but I've been through enough crossings in the Brazilian, Colombian and Peruvian Amazon to assume that it'd be quite easy to get into the country via a river crossing and not get caught. The problem is getting caught within Bolivia without and what happens when you try to leave, since Peru was very interested in making sure I had the visa (and I'm sure Chile and Brazil would be too).
You would not be able to really get around. The bus companies check it, the train from Oruro to Tupiza checked it and BoA checked for it too. I think anywhere offering accomodation would also, so too should tour operators, but if that requirement exists many ignore it. Problem is they all know about the visa, and all it takes is one person who gets spooked and reports you to the authorities just to be safe. You can't do anything there without a passport, basically everyone requires it to book anything. So if they see USA or Israel with no massive full page visa (to this day if you just flip open my passport it naturally opens to my Bolivian visa) it'll raise an eyebrow or two.

For what its worth the border theatrics are unbelieavable. Never seen anything like it. Took like six hours to get in, the border guard spent minutes inspecting each twenty dollar bill (which must be absolutely perfect and crisp), running his fingers along the edges looking for the slightest tear. The irony of having to use USD seems lost on them. They'll make sure you have everything as far as paperwork and documentation, and it all gets filed away.
The border towns have shops that specialize in this, and in Puno there were places that get you prepared. My girlfriend and I only had to print out bank statements that had our account numbers and names listed on them (fricking joke), which still cost like five bucks since the whole thing is a corrupt game with the border guards and bordershop owners giving you the runaround. We were told by the shop guy that we got off pretty easy because we were actually prepared, most people get bent over thinking they just need the money and wind up spending closer to three hundred bucks getting in because they didn't come ready. The border guards won't speak english either, even if they know how.

the CIA somewhat staged a coup in the sixties there. its been pretty combative ever since, but Bolivians are cool with Americans and generally like America. this bickering really just occurs at a diplomatic level.
the Bolivians are eternally upset over losing their coastline to Chile and to this day campaign on the idea of getting it back. they have appealed to the UN and international courts, and seem to get unbelievably hopeful when anything goes slightly their way on the matter. even though there is truly zero percent chance Chile would ever give them that land back.
so as a result Bolivia kind of acts petulant and uncooperative on the world stage. even by the standards of these other marxism-addicted South American countries that can't get out of their own way Bolivia seems very unwilling to get along. but its much more than ideological, they have this grievance that they'll never get over.
if you don't want to deal with visa hassles, visit US allied countries whose governments actually want you to visit. you do not have any right to enter hostile nations - i.e. those who deny entry to foreigners without special permission. running afoul of the law as a foreigner in a hostile foreign country is def not on my bucket list.
