if you have enough money stay in the place. Very nice to walk around in the late or very early hours. If you don't have enough money and are staying in Mestre the tram also goes there late IIRC
All the tourists have fucked off by then, and it's like the locals come out for air. You see friends walking around, mothers with strollers, groups sitting down at charming holes in the wall for a spritz.
As an American, it was refreshing to see people enjoying community life in an aesthetically pleasing setting (something we could never enjoy in back home). Nobody looking over their shoulder for a black guy with a knife, not a single car or parking lot in sight. Just a bunch of people enjoying life.
Don't forget early mornings as well, preferably not after a late night.
Venice is small enough to return back to your hotel for a siesta though, your toddler and wife will be thankful.
See the obvious tourist stuff because there is a reason millions of people go see it. But then get away from that and wander a bit. It's a bizarre city.
She’s a toddler. And yes, I know that’s a fucking cursed age to travel.
Don't bring your wife, but bring your daughter to walk around with and you'll be highly respected among the locals and good old chaps.
Make your daughter an italian e-boita.
No way. She is too young.
Come on son, don't get trolled so soon on the internet next time

I booked a hotel near the train station, so that’s something.
Is there anything I have to bear in mind in order to move through the city?
I recommend this too. Summer nights in Venice are WOW.
>Summer nights
How are they special?

Yeah, I imagine that’s the case. Any place with beautiful insides?
