Whenever I have to stay here due to a snow storm, there is nuttin’ in the bathroom.
Although if we’re talking guests having sex, that’s rarely a noise complaint we get, mainly because it’s awkward to bring up.
Oh fuck, dude, lemme tell you one >be me >just started >Girl tries to check in >see local Id >tell her we don’t allow locals and to leave >She gets angry, begins screaming >I threaten to call the cops so she leaves >3 hours later >she shows back up with like 3 other ladies >they all begin yelling, screaming, I was afraid one of them was gonna shit on the floor >Manager shows up and they all scatter >didn’t see them since
How come you treat silver elite members like shit
I'm a person too 🙁
Don’t mean to sound like a dick, but depending on the day, it’s all about Priorities
Undoubtedly although I stayed in a Courtyard a few weeks ago and came across human shit in the hallway kek. But that's just the US for you. Courtyard throughout Asia otoh is one of my go-to's
Do you have any insight on why US properties are way more eager to nickel and dime you over little shit like say late checkout vs overseas properties of the same brand? Had one last week that tried to charge me hourly for late checkout even though my status gives me free late checkout. Meanwhile in Asia I could get free late checkout before I even earned status (availability dependent, of course)...
Americans expect to be garden gnomeed at every turn, it's part of their culture.
You see that with every chain that is present in the North America and somewhere else, same for booking portals when accessed from the US vs. when accessed from the developed world.

So each Marriot property is different when it comes to extended checkouts and that shit.
Obviously Status could be a part of it, though this is ultimately up to the distinct property owner.
Do you treat third-party guests any differently from direct-booking guests?
I know most of the simple technical differences, such as that you're less flexible about refunds & extensions. But what I meant to ask was more along the lines of do you generally look upon third-partiers with more scorn than direct-bookers?
Nah, I look upon them the same, the procedure is just different
How can I get rooms cheaper?
things like >corporate codes or government rates >long term stay rates
etc
Also is there any way to book a room "anonymously" or pay with cash?
Paying with cash is a BIG Nono, so there really is no way to do stuff like that Anonymously.
As for cheaper rates other than what you listed, wouldn’t hurt to ask for a lower price
It doesn't matter I was Elite Titanium or Elite Silver, the service sucks. All I get is either a bottle of water, some free points, or food voucher that couldn't buy me a sandwich. Why should I continue on using you guys and not Hyatt/Hilton/IHG/Best Western/Choice???
My sister on the other hand is Elite Gold but always gets great upgrades. Why are you guys so sexists?
How do I get a better room? A quieter room? Free food credit? Can you guys not place me beside a family of 6 black people with 4 pre-teens from hell?
Every single Marriott hotel I've been that has free breakfast serves the same terrible shit, why is that? Why is the weekend breakfast selection so much better than the weekdays'?
Do the in-room Ethernet jack ever work? Why do some hotels have Ethernet jacks that don't work, some do work, and some hotels don't have the jacks at all?
Do you guys steal food from the lobby food stall?
Sometimes I have to stay in the hotel for more than 2 weeks. How come Marriott doesn't give me any freebie?
Do you guys ever wash the water cooler at the lobby? Sometimes your hotel would add lemon or orange slices to the water. How long have they been in the cooler?
The hipster Marriott chains (eg. Moxy)'s rooms bathroom are really open. Who designed that shit?
Finally, not your problem but your hotel's Enhanced WiFi is not fast. I can never do good video conference with it.
Lemme try answering all of these
1. You can haggle more with other stuff I guess? I dunno, I’m just an employee here
2. Ur sister is hot lawl. But fr though, Gold elite meme era from my experience are assholes, Titanium and up are typically really chill
3. Just ask honestly, have you tried that?
4. It’s cheap
5. It all depends on the property
6. Occasionally yeah, lol though I’ve cut down on that as I’m gaintaining and need to be careful with my caloric intake
7. Well that sort of stay would build up points, maybe check out to see what you earn during that time and see if that adds up to a free night
8. Yes, everyday. The fruit crap is emptied and refilled everyday too
9. No fucking clue
10. Try asking an employee for a different network to use, there’s typically one they use
>Gold elite meme era from my experience are assholes, Titanium and up are typically really chill
Titanium here. I'm always polite to the staff and an easy guest.

Sometimes I need faster internet (or the wifi is shit) in the room. Marriott is starting to install shits like Ethernet-based TV box. Do those ethernet connections have internet access? Can I ask you guys for ethernet cable?
One time I discovered someone peed on my sofa bed (thank god I check the mattress beforehand.) You guys gave me another room, but no compensation. Should I have made a bigger fuss?
How do I get an unit on a higher floor?
I've had food gone bad in the mini-fridge in your hotel room and I got food poisoning. Can you guys get better fridge?
I've never encountered bedbugs in your hotel before (thank god). How many bedbugs have you seen?
How many malwares are on the hotel shared computer station? Do you guys install keyloggers on it?
/Person who spent too much time in Marriott hotels
>I've had food gone bad in the mini-fridge in your hotel room and I got food poisoning. Can you guys get better fridge?
Yeah those things are useless. For me it's Residence Inn or nothing.
>Yeah those things are useless
I go to an annual convention and I swear the same hotel every year replaces the fridge with an even cheaper and shittier model.

Ask away
I had one in a "nice" marriott-branded boutique hotel and they had some new thing where the fridge is cooled with these weird plates that water flows thru or somethin. Worked horribly. I wonder if you can just ask for a better one in many places. "I need it for my meds"
Ah shit, didn't see the continue thing
1. I mean, there’s no need for a fuss, just explain to the manager(calmly) about the piss issue
2. Ask ahead of time
3. It’s a redundant answer, but it’s different at every property
4. I’ve only seen like 2 or 3 cases of that
5. We don’t have key loggers
>they want to kill themselves
how often does that happen?
Thankfully, I haven’t encountered that, but the dude who works at our sister property did.
Funnily enough, some dude this past week tried to off himself after we asked him to leave, he wasn’t paying his extraordinary bill.
Well, I said “tried to” but he only got as far as a note.
Cops came in, arrested him and took his guns.
>1. I mean, there’s no need for a fuss, just explain to the manager(calmly) about the piss issue
Actually I mixed it up with another incident.
That night the hotel (in San Diego) was full and couldn't give me another room. So the staff just gave me stack of blankets and told me to stack them on top of the mattress so that I can sleep on it.
I fucking refused and after ab hour or two the hotel found a clean mattress and replaced the yellow-stained one.
>Every single Marriott hotel I've been that has free breakfast serves the same terrible shit, why is that? Why is the weekend breakfast selection so much better than the weekdays'?
Yeah this pisses me off. I spend $300/night on a room and the breakfast is goyslop
I wouldn't blame Bonvoy for any of that generally. Sounds like its more just that service in the US sucks and as I complained in a diff post they can't help but nickel and dime you at every turn while giving shit service. The only properties Ive been in that haven't been like that are the Ritz and St Regis (again, just talking about in the US). >Do the in-room Ethernet jack ever work? Why do some hotels have Ethernet jacks that don't work, some do work, and some hotels don't have the jacks at all?
i deal with networking, so i will explain.
this face plate you see on the wall with an ethernet port likely isnt plugged in from the patch panel to a port on the switch. this means that while a cable may be run to where you are, it isnt actually plugged into anything to actually get you a connection. there is also the issue of how the site has their VLANs set up for certain ports, so even if you did get your port on the patch panel plugged into a port on a switch, it may not even work.
this applies to more than just hotels.
Are you one of those guys who has worked a front desk your entire adult life or do you want to move up into management n shit? Are there perks to being the front desk guy?

God no, this is temporary.
As for perks, I get the employee discount that’s about $99 per night at the more expensive locations. Plus not much happens, so I can do other shit as I work.

Why don't you allow locals?
Well, typically whenever a local comes in, it’s usually because they’re either a criminal or they want to kill themselves.
>they want to kill themselves
how often does that happen?
It sounds like you work in a third world SEA hotel.
What the fuck country bans locals from hotels dude
how long is your dick?
How come you treat silver elite members like shit
I'm a person too 🙁
You’re basically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. My team alone probably spends $30k each at Marriott each year. What do you spend?
That's it? Damn is it like a small consulting firm or something?
Would you stay in a Marriott? Why or why not?
Yeah, I don’t mean to sound bias but even the lowest ones are a much higher quality than the fucking Motels.
Undoubtedly although I stayed in a Courtyard a few weeks ago and came across human shit in the hallway kek. But that's just the US for you. Courtyard throughout Asia otoh is one of my go-to's
