>Be in London
>Go to pic related
>The clientele are all broke, struggling mid 30s - 50s men
>saw two actual travellers but they were both young women and the men's and women's rooms are separate so maybe things are different for them although I did see two homeless old women while trying to find my room
>All men's rooms are full of homeless people and random poor men from around the world trying to make it in London out of all places
>Average age of people staying there is 38+
>The homeless people literally walk in off the street and beg for a room
>The poverty-stricken euros staying there look like goblins and wake up at the crack of dawn for their delivery Uber eat jobs or under-the-table work that they do without a visa
>They talk openly about looking for work without visas in the lounge
>The lounge is frequented by loud poverty people who talk on the phone loudly to their friends/relatives or play music through their phone speakers with the volume on full blast
>While the music is blasting other people are just talking on the phone like the noise is normal
>All the rooms reek to the high heavens of bio
>Its clear people haven't washed in days even though the shower room is down the corridor
>Sometimes people from the street sneak into the hostel and sleep in people's beds who actually paid
>When I arrived some random euro was forcibly removed from the building because it turned out he was sneaking in and sleeping in an unoccupied bed for days without paying
>The owners seem to not give a frick if actual travellers or hobos live there
>empty Starbucks cups left around the building in random places
>find empty cups on radiators, in the bathroom near toilets, in the lounge just left on the table for someone else to clean up
>Sometimes i found half-eaten food just laying around
Is this normal? What are hostels like in your country?

I've been to like 3 of these. Got the job done I guess
>I've been to like 3 of these.
Were actual travellers there?
Think so, I went to one in Paris called 3 ducks or something that was like what you described. The Edinburgh st. Christophers actually helped me get laid
Different guy,but i was at the Vienna one.
>Cool sports bar below with a good vibe and lots of ind booths with screens. Seemed locals hung out here
>Touristy vibe in dorm. Was in mixed room and seemed all normal.
Only stayed one night tho. But would assume it's just a London thing. Stayed at an """Airbnb""" in London once and it was a series of filthy rooms shanghaied out of some apartment, with pakis lurking everywhere.
So London is slowly turning into another American city and the process is almost complete now. Interesting.
Are the culturally rich individuals armed?
many have unlicensed knives. it is racist to ask.
As if Bristol, Newcastle and Liverpool aren't either. RIP this "country"
>go to a place where poor people stay
>complain about poor people
Come on anon, just spend a hit more and you can stay in a shitty local hotel that offers a least a bit of privacy
I stayed in a few UK and Irish hostels last summer, and although my experience wasn't as bad as yours, it wasn't a million miles off. As it happens, I did stay in one of those st Christopher inn hostels, and it was probably the best of the bunch (but still fairly shit). I dunno what hostels are like in the rest of Europe nowadays, but they're fricking awful in the UK/Ireland compared to my experiences using them in Asia/Latin America.
you have to be crazy to stay in a shitty hostel in london and expect anything different. it has been the cesspool to which all the dregs of humanity are irresistably drawn since the days of the glorious british empire if not before. honestly did you learn nothing from sherlock holmes
you just ruined your own vacation by being miserable lol, why don't you explore the city and try to have some fun?
Oh shut the hell up jesus christ OP didn't even explain why he was there you just assume assume all the fricking time
thats funny
>>Its clear people haven't washed in days even though the shower room is down the corridor
I do this
I stayed at a st Christopher's inn in Vienna and it actually wasn't bad, the bunk beds had outlet mounts on it with light, decent wifi and the restaurant downstairs gave us 25 percent off, decent burgers
I stayed at St Christopher's hostel in Barcelona and it was fricking great time
I might be trying one soonish, seems good bet it'll be quite comfy.
Try to be a bit more positive and not so judgemental and you might have a better time some stuff seems kind of nitpicky and why didn't you go out to see the town if you were that miserable
thats the NAMBLA swirl in their logo. that hostel probably houses pedophiles and criminals doing sex crimes
