in the 80s it was an industrial area
they moved the industry elsewhere and sold 200 acres of land to a hong kong billionaire who built the same building over and over again in the 90s-early 00s and sold them to his countrymen
I don't think anybody besides the UAE tourism board considers it "beautiful".
If you're ever flying via Dubai/Oman/Qatar you might want to stay over for a night or two, but other than that it's somewhere to go if you're paid to do so.
Venice. its expansive, ruined by asian tourists, does not feel like a city anymore.. rather a fricking theme park.
Amsterdam, degenerate hell hole. Everytime i visit the city i would've suffering from a seizure so i would not experience the shithole called amsterdam.
Why do people hate Vancouver so much on this board? Sure it has flaws, lots of homeless, expensive housing, but that is true about EVERY major western city these days.
On the bright side; >Looks nice >Nice northern climate but not too cold >Has a park island beside downtown >Public transport >Mountains and nice nature things nearby >lots of Asian pussy
TLDR: Like a coastal American city, but somewhat cleaner, with nice nature climate and appearance
cuz nu-trv hates everything thanks to election invaders and covid tourists.
we had a fantastic 6 month long Vancouver thread here back in 2015 full of restaurant recommendations and cool shit to do.
now you look at a modern trv thread about Vancouver like this one and it's just /misc/ & SighSee off-topic shitposting
rule 1 of using modern SighSee kids, dont use modern SighSee.

>Looks nice >Nice northern climate but not too cold >Has a park island beside downtown >Public transport >Mountains and nice nature things nearby >lots of Asian pussy
pretty much this
only things i didnt like that much about vancouver were >need to catch the bus fricking everywhere >busses are always 40min~2 hours late >lol good luck affording a car >lol good luck affording a place near a skytrain station >hope you like commuting from neighbouring cities an hour away >richmond, burnaby, surrey etc gays claiming that they're from vancouver >the sheer amount of self-fellating hipster dick-jerking and reach-arounds that goes on >all of the homeless >ALL of the homeless >every good event is absolutely crowded to frick >the nude beaches are citygay nude beaches aka: they're mostly old brown leathery gay men >the long, wet, never-ending rainy depressing winter and how everyone becomes morose and suicidal for half of the year
It's like living with that constant feeling of being ripped off, like you're being overcharged. That feeling that no matter how much you try, how much you work or try to change things for the better - no one cares, actually people will actively dislike you for not being mediocre! Can you believe that?
It's that feeling you can earn as much money as you can, to save up decades for a shitty little condo only to have 19 year old Chang whiz last you in a Bently. It's the Indians at the gasoline pump who give you a second sideways glance as you drive off. The laziness of people, the horrible attitude of service expecting 25% tip. Its the Seattle freeze, with more Asians.
All of this while waiting at the bus stop like a Swede, while being drenched in rain.
Im almost 40. Vancouver was a sleepy seaside town when I was a kid. All those luxury condos next to the water? Those were shipyards with freight containers. Jobs were blue collar. Men worked, women looked after the kids, maybe worked a bit on the side. Just the expo line went in, before that only busses. Everyone was white.
Now look at it. And that transformation only took about 30 years. Imagine what it will look like 30 years from now?!
Dude I fricking know right. Actually insane how gentrified Vancouver became over the decades. All the shipping and boating shit is disappearing. Fricking hate this stupid shithole city. Every fricking year we have to cry about that Indian ship that got turned away like over a 100 years ago meanwhile we are infested by them everywhere.

No thanks.

Vancouver is peak soulless, there is no reason to want to go there if you actually value your time and money
Puerto Rico >great beaches >atlantic ocean and caribbean sea for variety in the waters >mountainous middle section >rainforest and dry forest for desertgays and tropicaliagays >colonial spanish downtown with a semi-modern beachfront downtown a bridge away >multiple bioluminescent bays >coffee is some of the best in the world and we have good rum (i.e. not bacardi)
HOWEVER >crime is out of control >most architecture outside of major hotspots is rundown trash >local gov absolutely incompetent >electric company mostly incompetent >you only find out about the excessive saharan dust in the air once you land (absolute hell for allergygays) >no car = BG NO RE >roads are worse than shit you see in a fallout game >no urban planning >no planning for future development at all >widespread destruction post hurricane >no economic future for most
Talked to a few colleagues who live in downtown Vancouver and they say they want to leave. The noise pollution and all of the sirens that go off all the time are a big reason.
Honestly I'd rather live in New West or Coquitlam than live in Vancouver.
Portland is a beautiful city. Nature outside of it is great. The city and state government has ruined it and it is just hell on earth. Perhaps the most beautiful city in the US ruined by homeless camps, rvs, and constant fires in those camps. It's a third world city at this point.
i was just there for business and i'm already sick of homeless people. The weirdo lefty govt there has ruined everything, I have never been so glad to come home to Cincinnati.
There is literally no respite from them. Every neighborhood is full. At least with San Francisco they have confined them to mostly what seems like one square mile. Portland there are camps EVERYWHERE
>There is literally no respite from them. Every neighborhood is full
Yes, that really shocked me. My first time in Portland and it did not make a good impression.
Visually attractive cities that are also shitholes? Hmm >Any West Coast US city (natural scenery; only SF has good architecture) >Northeastern US cities (architecture only) >Chicago (architecture only) >Bogota (good scenery but dangerous af and surprisingly shitty weather) >Rio de Janairo (great scenery, good architecture, dangerous shithole) >Paris (just the architecture, the scenery isn't anything special) >London (same as Paris) >Cape Town (scenery) >Santiago (scenery, the urban planning is horrible like almost as bad as Dubai)
ur mums mouth
Op btfo
Checked kekked rekt
what is this, taiwan?
looks like sydney
the landscape is stunning. one of the most beautiful cities I've seen in NA but jesus man, everyone of those buildings looks exactly the same
in the 80s it was an industrial area
they moved the industry elsewhere and sold 200 acres of land to a hong kong billionaire who built the same building over and over again in the 90s-early 00s and sold them to his countrymen
Vancouver... a hellscape of glass souless buildings
What are you, poor? Why does Vancouver suck? Try SF.
Close. There are fewer Asians in Taiwan.
lmao
UAE
The definition of soulless. Never heard of anyone going there that wasnt paid to go there or is trying to make some money off the scene.
I don't think anybody besides the UAE tourism board considers it "beautiful".
If you're ever flying via Dubai/Oman/Qatar you might want to stay over for a night or two, but other than that it's somewhere to go if you're paid to do so.
>Oman
Don't put Oman in with those shitholes. One of the most beautiful, friendliest countries I've ever been to.
>t. On 70+ countries now
Sorry, meant Kuwait.
Kuwait fricking sucks it's not beautiful in the slightest. Wtf you on about
Cape Town, South Africa.
How does Cape Town suck? I lived there last summer… it’s beautiful, cheap, easy transportation. Safe compared to the rest of the country
yeah I live in vancouver
its nothing but homeless junkies and chinks
also moronic hipsters who think its amazing
I wanna bang Asian chinks but I don't speak Chinese/Korean/Japanse...
Is Vancouver a good place for that? I'm from Germany.
No. Go to Asia it’s easier than fricking them in the west, and way more fun.
Which country?
yes its heaven earth to bang asians. Thats the only reason why I live in vancouver. lmao
Lots of korean comes to study/worker visa
lots of japs
taiwan
and of course the chinks
they are very open to white men. Vancouver is so easy.
My hinge matches... its the only reason why I live here
Oh nice! If you have more photos of Hope and bottom Claudia, I'm interested.
I'm sorry to destroy your thread OP.
Go jack off wtf
Why don't you just use regular porn instead of creeping on pictuers of random girls who are fully clothed who you'll never get to meet?
Dude..... same. Well that and I love the outdoors. But for real, I have never had it so easy with women until I moved to Vancouver.
Like shooting fish inna barrel ugh azn pussy
It almost as if you found the free ethnicity filter, did you?
utilize all tools at your disposal
Switzerland imo
agreed
You have no taste, Switzerland is comfy af.
You think like because
a) you don't speak the language
b)you are a gay
It has it's cool spots, mostly in the French speaking bits, otherwise I agree. Pretty, but boring and stuffy, plus shit weather.
Scandi countries
yep
Malaga is beautiful but hella boring, and Spaniards are terrible people that ruin a country that would be much greater without them.
>Malaga
>boring
b***h lmao what the frick were you doing, speaking in english and visiting churches?
>Beach
>Mountain
And nothing else
>weekly shitting on vancouver thread
weekly reminder you homosexuals don't know what it's like to live somewhere that truly sucks

Like a Mumbai slum mixed with some chink township mixed together with lobotomised whites dotted sporadically in between.

It's a meme a this point that a slight drizzle kills the entire city.
why do the skyscrapers look so asian? they look nothing like western skyscrapers but something you'd expect in china/korea/japan
The greater Vancouver area is nicknamed Hongcouver for a reason Anon. Richmond especially is mostly Chinese, While Surrey has a lot of East Indians.
Do you guys wanna know what separates China from India? Port Mann Bridge.
western skyscrapers are usually commercial, taller and without balconies
the foreground ones are 30-40 story residential towers
singapore. sterile, surveillance state, hot and humid, boring
ha ha giraffes
Made me laugh here's a (You).
