    I was just there anon
did a week in early july

I went for work but that only took up 2/3 days and meant I had some people to go to wierd wienertail bars with

I was there on the weekend of rave the planet which was good
    went tresor the same night

people in tresor said if you go sissyphos where colorr, I wore black and didnt get in but I was hella tired too
I tried berghain for shits and giggles next and got rejected

as for touristy stuff I did Tiergarden
berlin wall (various places all over)
multiple museams (they are small imo and you can knock them out pretty quick)
barendenberg, alexandraplatz and the welt baloon

    bolt is hella cheap there
the rail network is okay, coming from london the UX is bad but its cheap

I did a nazi tour but I wanted to do the cold war tour instead (it was too late to book it)

If / when I go again I'll try sissyphos again and kit kat
for kit kat you need an 'outfit'

there are saunas too called FKK if thats your thing

so how is it like living in berlin

        Anonymous

It's pretty gud unless you live in one of the ghetto districts
But generally it's getting gentrified to death right now so even those are rarer and rarer and getting pushed to the outskirts. Marzahn is the most infamous one

        >Berlin-anon, what less known places do you suggest to visit as a tourist?
Completely depends on what kind of experience you're looking for, cultural, entertainment, nature, etc etc

          Anonymous

Cultural and entertainment mostly. I like museums/art galleries and love great food and bars

            >like museums/art galleries
Pergamon and the museum island, it's mainstream but they literally have a replica of the gate of Babylon
Potsdam is less than an hour away from Berlin, city of Prussian kings, place where it was decided to part Germany and drop the nukes on japan
If you want more castles visit Schloss Charlottenburg, If you like DDR history Karl Marx Allee. Checkpoint Charlie ist extremely overrated, if you want to see the Berlin wall proper, go to the east side gallery. If you want to see "old Berlin" go to Spitzelmarkt, Gendarmenmarkt and so on. For art galleries once again Potsdam, there's a new museum called the Barberini funded by a billionaire, it has kino art sometimes, like literally shit from Monet, Van Gogh, Munch and so on. If you like hyper modern futuristic art, there are some cool permanent art installations, like DARK MATTER
            >Love great food and bars
Rosenthaler Platz, Boxhagener Platz, and your eyes will start running apart. Definitely try a Döner, Currywurst is overrated and a meme. There's some super exclusive restaurants if you're into that, too. Bars, tbh it doesn't matter just do barhopping. If you want a bar with a nice view there's the monkey bar or Klunkerkranich

      question for you anon
Im from london, but anyone born here lives in outer london (zones 4-6) these days due to cost and/or family moving out of inner london pre gentrifcation

where do most berliners (born and bred) actually live?

        Anonymous

        >where do most berliners (born and bred) actually live?
I think Treptow, Spandau and Pankow, and yes those are not super central districts. Treptow has Köpenick and together with Spandau, they're like separate tinier cities. Visit them if you want a less busy but still historic and pretty location. Picrelated is Köpenick bet you don't think of that when you think of Berlin. The super central place most Berliners can't afford anymore, although there are exceptions due to government subsidies and historic reasons. Usually if it's a new building, rich kids and rich immigrants live there. If it's a DDR box, then not. If it's a very old building, either urberliners who inherited or also rich kids

        Seconding this [...]
Also, do Berliners tend to move away or to the suburbs, once they get a family going?

        >Also, do Berliners tend to move away or to the suburbs, once they get a family going?
Yes they usually move to Brandenburg which is the state surrounding Berlin. There, houses are still affordable but you'll live in bumfrick nowhere. Which is fine if you have a car tbh, because it's usually like half an hour to Berlin by car. Some people like the lifestyle and those who can afford stay with families and kids in bigger flats, popular locations for that are Lichtenberg and Friedrichshain

not that far out, kinda like croydon, bromley, ilfrdr etc in london

          >they're like separate tinier cities.
          also like london lol
the main suburban centers also act as mini cities

          >a new building, rich kids and rich immigrants live there
same, lots of gentrification and people from the counties move in

          >DDR box
          ours are called council blocks

          >half an hour to Berlin by car
I didnt notice much traffic in berlin, although I was told it was unusually quiet

thanks for the insight berlin anon much appreciated

      thought the same

so how is it like living in berlin

comfy if you're white/german and live in the right areas
it's a great place to live in if you don't fall for the degenerate lifestyle that all the expats and homosexuals fall for

    going this weekend
first Partiboi69 then hopefully Robert Hood if his set isn't too early
my question to experienced berlin travellers is which hotel offers the best room service?
there's no better place to come down from a long party than a comfy hotel room, munching on top tier room service food
oh a bathtub is also a must, Jacuzzi would be perfect but i think in berlin you'll only get those in top tier suites and i can't afford that
    any hotels you can recommend?

don't really care about the 32€ and might still pay Abendkasse if that's quicker
but it's a big trip for me so someone local on just another night out budget will think differently

I lived in Berlin a few years ago and basically lived on doner and nuremberger sausages. Agree with currywurst being a meme.

    A few recommendations:

    - Mustafa's Gemuse kebab. Probably the most famous one but legit and different
    - Rosenthalerplatz Grill und Schlemmerbuffet. Higher quality than 99% of the rest

Berlin Brandenburg is such a pain if your a bong and stuck in the brown people line at passport control. They only had 2 gates open when I came in , took over an hour to get cleared. Way out was a bit quicker but still about 15 minutes.
Security also managed to be very slow, seemed to be everyone getting flagged up at the machines and patted down

Last year I entered at Munich and left in Vienna, never spent more than 5 minutes in passport control.
