Best place to sleep in rome?

Got a really long layover in rome, and I jeed to change airport, so I'm planning on heading into the city, looking around for the afternoon, then sleeping rough in the city, because I have a full day the next day too before my next flight. Would really like to get some proper sleep, there aren't too many 'new europeans' are there? I've got a hammock if that helps.

Before things went insane. I remember when things wre that cheap. Thats right when the instagram hordes and chinese tourgroup mobs really started to wreck everything.

All you have to do is go in the spring or fall. You won't see the slant eyes and 90 percent of the blacks are gone too. Five minutes of research online and you wouldn't have issues. Learn to travel better.

Frick the Yellow Hostel, one of the chinziest places in the city.
The real answer for professional level Roman rough sleeping is a rooftop. Especially in the neighborhoods near Termini and Via Cavour, which you will come to know I'm sure. There are enough buildings, that if you can find scaffolding or something with some simple stairs, you can get on the roof and nobody will bug you. I've done this a few times, and once I even found a clean apartment on the roof completely empty, save for a clean, neatly made bed, which was really strange. The doors were open, and I just wandered out and down the stairs the next morning. Otherwise you are going to have to live like a tweaker, and sleep in a bush somewhere, which admittedly can be comfy. Honestly cops aren't that bad in the city, and even bumming near a bus stop or stairs of a metro station can be fine. Then you even have the nice excuse of missing the last train. Godspeed to all the clean vagrants. No tweaking allowed.

One time I walked up aprarment scaffolding and at the top the sky had a door attached to it, like in The truman show. I opened it and realized that it was the exit to my larp gay fairytale

I second the Ostello Bello. Stayed there in a private room and it was great.
