Yeah no long haul flightd are not the ones usually affected by strikes or staff shortage.
Domestic flights ans short hauls are the ones mostly fucked if anything happens.
airlines should've failed in 2020. they spent ten years buying back their stock then had no cash on hand to weather the storm, got bailed out, still laid off a ton of people and are now all fucked up and can't even operate. they were bailed out because they supposedly were public utilities, but they cancel half their flights so what's even the point?
dumb, corrupt nonsense. they're all so anti-customer and nasty too. once upon a time we were fine letting ansett, bmi, or pan am fail becuase who gives a fuck. the world didn't end when they went under, why would it be any different today?
Many European airlines are seen as a source of prestige by their respective national governments. Also, some governments are concerned that connections to their countries would be scrapped altogether if they didn't have their own airlines. This concern especially smaller countries like Hungary, Slovenia and so on.
Honestly, good on them. I quit my last airline job because I was making $16/hour in a city where the lowest price to rent is $1800/month + high gas and bill prices.

How is negotiating your wages not taking a risk and what does the government have to do with it?
