I'll have around a week to do frick all in Boston. I'll be staying in the North End.
First, what do I do to avoid getting shot or stabbed?
Second, anything interesting? Eat Lobsters? Museums and historical stuff?

Of course I forgot to mention when, it will be by the end of October.
I'm going on a business trip op so here's a bump
Boston is a NYC wannabe college city, so it's not the best to hang out and party but its a comfy slow trip imo.
>North End
Chose the best spot in town to stay, do not miss the black pasta at the Daily Catch (cash only) on Hanover or Salem St. You're staying in the city's little italy so make the best of it.
>how to avoid getting shot/stabbed?
Don't walk in the park/commons late at night, don't hang around downtown crossing. That's it.
>Anything interesting?
Tons of great restaurants, needs more and better high end bars imo. You're going to be hard pressed to find bad food but avoid mexican food, turns out the border jumpers don't come that far northeast. The typical to dos:
>Freedom Trail
>Boston Commons/Public Gardens
>Charles Riverwalk
>Prudential Mall/ Copley Sq/Newbury St.
>Beacon Hill walkaround for kino aesthetics
>Fenway tour for baseballgays
>Harvard Square, Central T stop in Cambridge is nice too
>Fannueil Hall
>Greenwalk
>Seaport (new hangout hub, rooftop bars here have decent views)
>MFA is pretty good
Lobster rolls are everywhere and a must try, but less known to tourists is that tons of places offer dollar oyster specials which I miss so fricking much now that I'm no longer living in MA. I visited a few years back and Black Lamb has both a decent bar and i think daily dollar oyster deals. If on business and doing a meal together, take them to dinner at Committee in Seaport or lunch at a spot with dollar oysters to impress as you cheaply order like 3 dozen of them.
Il Panino is one of the best restaurants in the north end
Santarpio's is the best pizza in the city
Mr. Dooley's is a cool irish bar that has really good live music on the weekends, you're likely to run into actual people from ireland there
Il Panino is great, but I'm a daily catch fan ever since a friend took me in my freshman year of college. I'm from spain and love cuttlefish so the fresh black pasta aglio olio is heaven in a skillet for me. For pizza and beer I go to the Salty Pig by prudential and for bars I struggle outside of Drink since I'm a wienertail bar kind of guy.
I'm gonna go to Harvard and take pics of students like they're zoo animals
Yes, we loved it when it happened. The best were the Asians who would peak through the windows to take pictures
Thanks, I appreciate all the anecdotes.
This should keep me busy during my free time
Decided to cut my days even shorter, will be flying over to Toronto to visit an old friend.
I have a very negative view of the states (hence the getting shot/stabbed question), not in the I want to bomb WTC kind of way, but more in the I just don't want to live there given all the stories I hear about it online.
Granted, I'm sure a lot of you also don't want me to be there.
I'm hoping the few days I spend in Boston changes my mind even though it is only a very tiny portion of an entire continent.
brother, when will you be here, we can meet up and I'll show you a good time.
Virtually everything in the Bunker Hill area is worth seeing.
What if I want to do a comfy hipster coffee shop vibe with a beret? Where should literary tourists go
Walked through downtown drunk at 3 am with no problems, Boston felt very safe when I was there
>what do I do to avoid getting shot or stabbed?
Boston is one of the least problematic big cities in the country. The worst parts of Boston are still nowhere near as bad as the worst parts of Chicago.
i absolutely loved the USS Constitution and the Boston Tea Party boat.
visiting Bunker Hill was nice. the oldest bar in america is unfortunately a let down.
