Cat

I can't travel because I have a cat. I am atomised and don't know anyone trustworthy enough. This creature depends on me.

"Atomized society" is a very commonly used term for sure. Never heard the word "atomized" applied to a single person, though.

    >So here's my furbaby!!! I can't leave him for more than a few hours and need to spend half my disposable income on him and his food and care, isn't he sweet!
Is it time to hit the reset button on zoomers and birth a new generation instead?

There are specific home-like shelters that take care of cats for holidays or stuff like that, and I mean home like for real, like normal people in their houses etc, at least in my country is like that, look for experienced and recomendations in your area.

also maybe what you can do is hire some sort of service to come and give food to your cat twice a day and check on him, something like that idk private security

Just do what atomized people do for their kids and elderly parents-- hire a stranger to look after it.

if you don't have a trusted friend or family member in the area, go to the rover DOT com website. I used it when I went to Portugal for a week and a half. I hired someone like $20 a day or something to come over twice to feed my cats, scoop their litter, play with them for 20 minutes, take a picture and upload it so I could have a little peace of mind, then leave. it was nice to have a lil picture of my cats eating their food. I prefer this method over boarding them somewhere in a strange environment. it wasn't that expensive. there are loads of women in the area with pets who will take care of other peoples' pets for a small fee. just use rover or some other pet sitting app to find someone. hell, you can go on Facebook and recruit some old lady or something. just make sure she has verifiable experience, meet her first. good luck anon

Cats can survive on their own for about a week. Give it some stimulation like a hanging toy so it doesn't go nuts

Cats are pure. Humans are disgusting scum.

You've clearly never met many cats then.
I'm a firm believer in the innocence of animals, but some cats are fricking shithead gyps who will scratch you for no reason and bite you for the water bottle in your hand.

Cats are products of their environment. If you treat them well they will treat you well back, they have personalities not mindless like dogs are. My cat used to always greet me when I came home, if he saw me outside he'd always try to follow me and play. Cats act like shitheads because people are shit, and it defends them from all the buttholes around.

Do you believe people that are treated well are guaranteed to have agreeable personalities? Because that's pretty easy to debunk.
Some cats are just natural crackheads and will find any excuse to shank you. It's partially in their nature. They're born with knives, and they're born with the desire to use those knives.

Don't have pets or children unless you're able to change your lifestyle (such as traveling less) or make alternative arrangements (such as getting a competent sitter).

I had a dog long before I got interested in traveling. My dog would stay with my parents while I traveled. She has since died of old age, and now I don't have any pets at all, and I don't plan on getting any new pets.

    >I can't travel because I have a cat.
    No. You can't travel because:
    I don't know anyone
Most people just find someone to take care of their pets. Friends, neighbors, coworkers. PARENTS. Everyone has parents.
In the worst case you can pay a service who takes care of pets while the owner is gone, they're everywhere.

Don’t they have automated food and water dispensers for cats? Don’t need anything else besides maybe a couple extra litter boxes

Take the cat everywhere with you. Visit the pyramids of Egypt where cats are worshiped as gods and the cat will ascend to a higher plane.

I saw someone drive a campervan with two cats. She had leashes and a kitty box in the camper van and the cats would generally stay inside.

You can board a cat either with a business that does that or an individual who does it. I prefer just a person, the cat has more room and gets more attention.

Just freeze it before you go and once you come back put it in the microwave to wake it up again.

Literally the pet most able to handle being alone. I think you are overthinking this. Find a sitter or drop off boarding.
