People keep saying that Río de Janeiro is a total shithole and say go to São Paulo instead. However, SP just seems like a giant megacity that may be safer but Rio has the Christ Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Copacabana / Ipanema, favelas, Carneval, etc. So it makes sense to go there for the first time in Brazil.

I want you to pop on over to the responsible travel thread and read a bit.
By visiting Sao Paulo you are complicit in it's extreme wealth inequality but you're probably a filthy bourgie who was planning to go to the nice rich areas and fraternize with the "whites" there anwyays
reddit tier response
Hit a nerve apparently

Preddit, the post
>By visiting Sao Paulo you are complicit in it's extreme wealth inequality
No I'm not, that's the government's fault. I usually buy from small vendors so I'd be supporting the local economy, dipshit.
>you're probably a filthy bourgie who was planning to go to the nice rich areas and fraternize with the "whites" there
That's awfully presumptuous of you. I'm actually not that interested in the European side of Brazil; I would rather go to Portugal for that. And I'm definitely not interested in staying in the rich areas. That sounds boring af.
I just wanted to know what there is to see in São Paulo, not be lectured by a self-hating loser who is clearly projecting.
Sao paulo has nice shows, restaurants and exhibitions. Also interesting hip hop culture, street art. Sao paulo has people from all of brazil so you might get to know something about other regions by going there.
That being said, you should go to rio de janeiro.
That's like asking would you rather fly halfway across the world to go to Beijing vs. Shanghai. Shanghai is better but it's not something you should go out of your way to see when Beijing has the sightseeing and offers something more unique even though it's grimy and disgusting. So I would go to Rio.
>Convince me to go to Sao Paulo
I won't. Frick off and go to Colombia or Mexico .
Also interested in visiting Brazil, but isn’t it only 3 hours between each city?
Second question how are the women there? They seem very immature but fun compared to other latinas
Very feminist compared to other countries like Colombia. I would avoid.
Colombian/Veniis just see foreigners as walking atms.
So do women in any other traditional country. You want traditional women who cook and clean and do your laundry? Be prepared to pay for it and support them full time. That's how traditional relationships work, moron. If you want Western "boss girl" c**ts who pay 50/50 and treat you like a b***h, then either stay in the US or visit Brazil or Argentina.
Nah I mean they quite literally look down upon foreigners like pests or rodents they can milk. That happens everywhere of course but the bredth of it in Colombia is extremely annoying. Never been to a country that hated tourists so much.
