Cruise

Inlaws trying to convince me to go on a cruise with them.
To me it seems like boomer daycare. How good can shows, food and other entertainment really be when you are locked in on a floating hotel with no choice to find something better.
Any experiences?

Only go if the inlaws are paying your way. Then go as someone with an open mind and looking for a new experience. I've been on cruises around the Caribbean and it's no worse than living in the suburbs.

Just go and make up your own mind. I've been on four. they've taken me through the Caribbean and western Europe, never had a bad time.

If you're the type of dude to go into something already huffing and puffing, just don't go and bring the mood down for everyone else.

Exactly, OP sounds like a wet blanket so don't bother

Trying to figure out if it's worth burning time on this. Kinda short on free time so gotta make it count.

Why are you being a wet blanket about my comment?

book them on a swinger cruise as a thank you pretend you didnt know

KEK, brilliant, I think I'll gift them a gay cruise as wedding anniversary.

Cruise ships land at ports, yes? It's a lot more leisurely than traveling on an airline or a bus.
Not all cruises are oldgays only. Also, you aren't locked on the ship. You can leave anytime you want to, but you have to be a good swimmer.

      >leisurely than traveling on an airline or a bus.
You know this might just tear the ticket. I fly a lot, I hate flying, Jesus Christ knock me out and overnight me via fedex.

Don't go anon. You've already made up your mind and not only would you be unhappy, you'd definitely be the type to bring everyone else down too.

being on a cruise ship is what you make of it

it's very easy to let yourself relax, enjoy the drinks package, and be a present and fun travelling companion to your family members

it's also pretty easy to think you're above all the other people on the ship, start to feel trapped onboard, and get bitter at your family members for having the nerve to fall for it all

if you don't take yourself too seriously (like a lot of people on here do), you'll probably have a good time

I recently got back from a 1 week cruise and enjoyed it. Gf and I just drank a lot of wienertails and ate a lot of food. Met a young les couple. One you wouldn't know had big boobs til she got in the spa with us.
Cruises really aren't as bad as people think. My gf wasn't sure beforehand but she enjoyed it. Most comments saying bad things are from people who have never even been on one.

If someone else is paying for it and the itinerary is good then you’ll have a nice time. Make sure you get a balcony.

There will be obese boomers binge eating the whole time but you don’t have to mingle with them.

    I wouldn’t book a cruise myself until I’m 70 but I’ve had worse holidays

You sound like the kind of butthole I'd get along with.
Don't go. It's a waste of money and time, and you'd have to spend it with vapid inlaws. There's nothing good about something that is "fun" if that's all it is, and that's all cruises are.
