Feels weird. I got relentlessly bullied for like anime in the 2000s, and I don't mean that was Naruto running and calling people "Baka." I literally just admitted to watching anime or read manga at lunch and a lot of my peers took that as a sign to frick with me. Now those classmates have grown up, we are all in our late 30s and some of those people now post anime things on Facebook. It's hard for younger people to fathom just how big the shift has been.

It isn’t hard to make friends. I’ve made several with minimal effort. The problem most expats have is that the level of friendship you have is much more casual than say, friends from school. But that’s because most don’t realize that’s just how friendships are the older you get.

No, they want to practice conversation. But, chances are, you want to practice Japanese too if you’re an expat. So it generally works out for people who aren’t on the spectrum. Which unfortunately is a substantial amount expats who come here.

How bitter you must be to take joy in something so common as culture shock. The only people that think like this are people who lack self awareness. Read the post again. The issue isn't the idea of selecting. The idea is that you're picking criteria that are incompatible with the place you're in.

The truth is, white woman go to Asia and do not want to date Asian men. I don't care whether the reasons are legit or not and I do not believe that racial preferences in dating are immoral, but when you go there and you have automatically outed 99% of men living there, don't complain that you can't get into a relationship. Don't act like the standards you expected from men apply to the 1% of man you're willing to date there.
Also, and that is true of almost all women (save the ones who actually date asian men, I WONDER WHY) abroad are even worse at integrating with the locals than the men. They have their own fricking book clubs, they stay together, they live as if the locals do not even exist, men and women.

Look at Sharm (gf) vs Abroad in Japan (bf)'s videos and prevalence of japanese folks as main characters of a video. I've had to go through 10 to 20 videos on Sharm's channel to find an actual japanese participant but both male and female foreigners are all over the place. Chris's second video on the other hand has his friend Ryotaro for most of it.

The first time I lived in Asia was in Taiwan 8 years ago, spent 3 years there then came back home. I used to pick up chicks like no problem back before I left for Taiwan, but when i came back from my expatriation I couldn't help but feel aggravated by how rude women back home are now, looking at ALL men like they're a bunch of potential rapists. It's just too bad that they act the same way when the guy in front of them just isn't one (which actually is most men).

If i can get away with stealing shit at my local 7/11 in Chicago, but go to Japan, steal shit and then get caught, i'm not experiencing "culture shock". Both cultures shun the idea of stealing. One lets you get away with it due to a certain social context, the other doesn't, but in neither should you think being a thief is okay. I was a dumbass not to do my research first, and if I complained about that, people would make fun of me.

Same goes for women. being condescending has never been considered as a good trait by anyone -they just got away with it back home. Now they're in a new environment where that works against them and they complain -and people make fun of them. And it's even funnier when they start projecting their own racism towards men : "the only reason why they tolerate the bugmen is because they want to frick their women".

This isn't someone who feels depressed and lonely because japanese people are a little aloof, which would be a legit example of culture shock. This is someone that rejects others actively for no reasonable reason and then feels lonely. God laughs at people who complain about consequences, the cause of which they cherish

I don't know how you couldn't get this from my previous post, but i'll repeat it again in simpler terms : The presence of enablers does not excuse universally agreed upon shitty behavior. In my previous example, the USA enables crime in certain cities by allowing it to happen with no consequences, but even the filthiest criminal knows and acknowledges that what they do is universally frowned upon.

To continue with the analogy, if you were not a thief in the US, you probably won't get caught by the Japanese police because you won't be stealing in Japan either. There is no need for research. It's basic, universal morality that is applicable in both Japan and your home country.
The women that behave decently will continue to behave decently if they go to Japan, and I hope they find the right partner, jap or white or otherwise.
