Does anyone else have a decoy wallet and an old phone on them when they go to a sketchy area?

Does anyone else have a decoy wallet and an old phone on them when they go to a sketchy area? I feel like a 5 dollar ross wallet full of Malaysian ringgits or less then 10 dollars of local currency and a 30 dollar ebay android would save a lot of trouble in the event of a mugging.

How often do you go to sketchy areas? And what are you doing there? Did you fall for le epic 'intrepid tourist' meme?
Your best protection is to stay away from these places. A decoy wallet will only go so far.

I use my old Samsung S10 whenever I travel abroad, better than taking my S23 or whatever latest phone I happen to have at the time.

      >old Samsung S10
Are they considered old now? I still feel like my S9 is a high tech gadget.

Relatively speaking since its my old phone, but its reaching the 5 year mark.
Still a great phone, but I'll be less upset about losing it in some backwater country than the latest mobile device I have upgraded to.

No. I have a revolver in a holster. Anytime a suspicious looking individual comes near me (read: darkie) I stare them down and swing my coat open just enough for them to see my gleaming silver big iron

old friend of mine in SEA used to put a handbag with a very heavy weight inside and leave it sitting at the edge of the seat when in a tuk-tuk. motorbike bagsnatchers tried to lift it, lost balance, got BTFO by asphalt lol

I don't have the picture but I remember seeing a sign outside a favela suggesting travelers carry a fake phone and wallet in the likely event they are mugged lol

I don't but might till I get trained up. Going to SEA here to become a fitizen with my crypto, with learning the arts as they call them, you can basically pick up chicks and beat all the gang members up without issue. You become a gigachad ins some of those 3 month programs, I haven't gone yet but waiting for it too cool down I hear it's almost 30C there right now in Bangkok. Knives might be a nono in my country but when you get pecks that you can call guns, no one can take them from you.

If I'm out for a walk, I don't bring anything with me. They can pat me down all they want, but I've never had that happen. People have always trusted me, when I told them I was poor myself, and didn't have a penny on me.
